Texas Recruiting Notes 2022 - Idiotic Slapfights Unrelated To 2022 Recruiting

This is a pretty dumb response. Sure, let’s just change the paradigm to meet your agenda . . .

The original post is $350k under the table or $350k legitimately through NIL. One is in brown bag hidden from Uncle Sam, one is not.

So your “benefactor” is now giving $500k instead of $350k to cover taxes for the beneficiary? That’s quite the change.

Don’t make it harder than it needs to be . . .

From a donor perspective, a charitable donation is a great tax write-off and a win-win - donate money to a cause, get a write off, influence a recruit.

From a recruit perspective - some of who do not come from great backgrounds - giving them a true $350k (and not paying any taxes) is quite different than a taxed $350k.

It’s the simple reason you see players on pro teams in California complain about salary caps versus teams in Texas - state income tax is a bitch (on top of federal).

You’ll understand some day when you make enough to pay a significant amount in taxes (and then you’ll try and find every way to reduce that amount with your friendly JD, CPA buddy).

You just talked shit to a guy about money who stands to make more than Steve Sarkisian in 2022.

We’re all happy that you got your CPA certification, and so if your mother. That said, you’re wrong on this shit and it’s going to be fun watching you take it from here.

No cause that’s illegal. You can’t give a kid an NIL deal till they enroll in the school. You probably saw that 1.5 million tweet that barstool was giving him supposedly. That was from a fake Adam Schefter account.

Also the NIL can not be used as an inducement for a recruit, the fastest way to run afoul of these rules is to do that. NIL is not difficult if you know what you’re doing, for instance my dumb brain has done it on a massive scale already. But we have no interest in inducing recruits, we understand what is permissible and we have a smart team that ensures we stay within the bounds of the NIL. Someone eventually is going to fuck around and find out. That will not be us

I was under the impression that NIL rules are set at the state level?  Which is why Ewers knew his NIL for tOSU but in Texas he couldn't engage in NIL discussions until enrolled.  If so, it makes the Pancake Factory so much more important for Texas because it lets them know the baseline they will get before enrolling.

Just to give everyone an idea of how bad this is. I went to the class calculator and with 8 players I got a score of 161.46 or the 75th rated class in 2019 (obviously a bit skewed, because other classes have lost players, but you get the idea). Not sure you could get less out of a #3 ranked class if you tried.

Does the coaching staff have an analyst that tracks players as to why they left the program?  Were players overrated, did we lose players that we had rather keep…..just curious?

This is the case

So December graduated high school athletes who choose to sign in February cannot sign NIL deal at all even if they're no longer a high school student?

My read of it, and others can chime in, is that the player has to be enrolled at the university and participating in the athletic program in order to sign NIL deals. I don't believe that letters of intent factor in at all.

Jesus. No idea Sydney was doing swan dives into his basement full of gold coins. Is someone paying him $10 per typo/misspelling on Surly or something?

Plot twist: Sydney will only make about $8,000 in 2022 in his employment as CTJ's full time cat butler (as in butler for his cats; not a butler that happens to also be a cat). However, CTJ knows that Sark bribed Gia to bite the shit out of that kid and its going to hit the press soon. Sark will be fired for cause and make exactly $0 next year making his statement technically true.

All of Sydney's net worth is based in privately held stock, but it is common stock, so CTJ is going to dilute his ass down to a 20$ whataburger gift card at the 11th hour and peace out to Turks and Caicos.

Moonshine still has a trade network that avoids the IRS and gets harassed and tracked by local and federal authorities, but not a fucking one of us on this giant board is buying our liquor from a shack at the end of a dark road in rural Tennessee.

Does a dark road in Virginia count? 🤐

Someone post the LinkedIn job post to work with CTJ and Sydney making mega coin while hanging out on shag and dunking on aggy all day.

To their credit, I don’t think anyone saw the national manbun footrace league being as successful as it has been.
