Oh now I feel bad.  I was picking on some 15 year old.  Be good boy and go to bed.  Counting sheep probably won’t help you get to sleep.

Texas was assisted by coaching changes and NIL (offensive lineman) this cycle. I can't really recall a surprising flip or commit for Texas other than maybe Brooks and that wasn't even surprising.
Harris and Stewart were anti-aggy almost the entire recruiting process until about a month before NSD.
I'm sure Texas is getting dirty to some degree but this is nowhere close to a similar comparison. aggy is straight up buying recruits right now and Harris/Stewart are about as obvious as it comes.

We should buy recruits then so we’d have a better football team.

It looks like Texas is focusing on NIL which is the better long-term play. "Buying recruits" isn't going to be a problem moving forward once NIL is fully operational and recruits see that players are getting money from NIL.

Lol do you seriously think this will be the first (tax) year they’ve done this?

Of course not but they are going to have to send bags to each new class while continuing to send bags to previous classes.

Yeah, I do find it funny the only time aggy has had success is when they cheat their tits off. We’ll see what happens now, or in the near future.

Focusing on having the best NIL platform/structure in CFB will probably be the most important priority going forward. On a Macro level, Texas has the resources and capabilities that very few (if any) can compete with. We need to be the gold standard.

HWH appears to have a very nice structure to it. A base pay for scholly athletes not only incentivizes players to stay, but attracts potential portal candidates from elsewhere to come. Theoretically, this should all but guarantee a very high floor (in terms of talent) for the entire roster.

Bagmen aren’t going away. As long as a tactic works, it will be utilized. You will still have bidding wars amongst schools (bagmen) for the very elite recruits. If someone wants a person bad enough, they’ll over pay to get them. The NCAA most certainly isn’t going to do Jack shit about it.

It’s very early in all of this still, and appears to still be in a “price discovery” phase. Aggy isn’t the only ones with bagmen, but they obviously paid more than all others were willing to go in this cycle (for more than just a few). They’ve essentially set themselves up to either match or increase the amount every subsequent year. The key question is how long they’ll be able/willing to sustain this.

Some of those same financiers that are doling out bag money will be asked to fund NIL as well. With NIL it’s easier to activate the Everyman small donations but it takes real money to do what HWH wants to do. Do they have the capability and want-to to ante up at that table and still be willing to bag players when equal NIL doesn’t get them who they want?

Rings, cups, on the stadium. Aggy will be naming their kids after this class. 84 years from now, when aggy is 168 years removed from their last national championship,  they'll still be bringing up this class.

" yeah, i know we aint won shit in centuries,  but remember that time we had that historic recruiting class?  HA! Suck on that sip!"

Please note. I know that math isnt right. Im playing off the old lady titanic meme.

They obviously had the want-to this cycle (albeit their NIL gig isn’t up and running yet). Looking at the big picture, it doesn’t appear to be a sustainable strategy IMO.

Remember that we are dealing with the “I want it now” instant gratification generation. However talented a freshman is, they are still a freshman. Not all of them will start, or even see significant PT. How do they deal with that? Portal out? The bagmen financiers gotta have a risk/reward ratio, you’d think🤷🏼‍♂️. How many hits do they need to offset the misses in their eyes to make it worthwhile? Their initial investment is already above fair market value based on who they’ve  lured in this cycle (this is merely my opinion, but you’re simply not going to convince me that they didn’t pay at least a 20% premium on most of these studs…..especially the out of state ones).

Ethan Burke is having a monster game tonight. I can see why Texas wanted him.

He just needs to gain 40-50 pounds of good weight to even play the position he was recruited for…. It’s a 50/50 shot he sees the field at Texas ever.

There it is. At 10am I’ve already seen the dumbest shit I will encounter for the entire day.

Wait and see nothing I said is not true….   Doesn’t matter who it is everyone hypes them up as great in this thread always and we’ll just look at the last few classes….  He’s a project at best for sure.  Maybe I have a bit of battered horn recruiting syndrome too.

What? He's 225 right now. It's not unreasonable to think he can gain 15 pounds relatively quickly and be a third down pass rushing specialist as he continues to grow into his body.

Just has to start 1 game for bet taker to win? Hmmmmmmmm

What’s your angle?
1)Badasses at the position preventing that from occurring

2) Mediocre comp, but you feel he’ll always be below mediocre
