Texas Recruiting Notes 2022 - Idiotic Slapfights Unrelated To 2022 Recruiting

French military planners assumed the Ardennes was impassable, and that the German Army would get bogged down for weeks if they tried to go through. So they sent their best units along with the BEF into Belgium to the North.
The Germans instead crashed through the forest like a hot poker through rice paper and reached the coast within a week, trapping British and French forces in a pocket to the North and cutting them off from France. What followed was Operation Dynamo, the evacuation at Dunkirk and the complete and utter collapse of remaining French resistance in little more than a month with many of their troops trapped in the Maginot Line itself receiving attacks from both sides.
The Maginot was a massive money pit that diverted too many French troops, and it was all compounded by the total lack of a competent military doctrine on the French side.

Some. The French populous put too much faith in the Maginot Line as did some of the leadership in France.

There was a war game where the French figured it would only take 60 hours to bore through the Ardennes. This was not widely reported, but they did attempt to add more fortifications in the late 30s and it was cancelled. Germans did it in 57 hours.

French military leadership knew this and still failed. The Ardennes was a hinderance, and should have been used more effectively. But that is not the fault of Maginot nor his defensive line.

Had a long NIL conversation with a Houston doctor who contributes to an LSU bag effort every year. Guy used to be very involved over there and is happy to give me the details of how they operate.

He doesn’t expect their bag stuff to change or miss a beat. He thinks it will take years for the NIL shenanigans to catch up to the bag game in the SEC. He said Craigslist has been super active over the pandemic and coming up with cash has been easy. Sell a boat or something for cash, head to the casino, play some super tight poker and then cash out.

Most interesting thing he said is everyone just assumes the bag man skims regularly. Completely unaffiliated with the school and they assume he does stuff for other programs. They have no idea how much he takes off the top. He has never heard us mentioned in their bag talks. Says aggy is trying their hardest but it takes years to get a well oiled machine built. He thinks we should go all in on exploiting the NIL, but says cash will always be king with the top players.

Lol he was not mentioned as someone expected to be in the class by ANY 9.95ers, this one is really coming out of nowhere.

TFB had it right, albeit the day before the commitment.

Also, Maalik Murphy briefly foreshadowed the commitment on Twitter.

I thought we were kind of in the lead (as much as you can be when someone is committed elsewhere) for LTG, if his ASU commitment doesn't stick, which seems to be the consensus.

ok, i just watched Austin Jordan's Junior hudl highlight so I'm a bit of an expert.

he's a physical guy, strong tackler. he seems to have a nose for the ball. he's very good at stripping the ball and he's good at picking off deflections.

it's hard to get a sense of his speed/quicks because he plays a lot in off coverage. i guess that's by coach's design, but it makes it hard to assess his athleticism from my seat at my desk. that combined with his 10.9 100 has me questioning his ceiling a bit.

all that said, i'm thrilled to take anyone right now. we needed it.

that'll be 7.95. a deal.

Inside Texas, 247, and Orangebloods are worthless.

TFB has been way ahead dating back to the coaching search.

This. TFB was the first to mention Sark back in December and we all disregarded that. They seem to be the only site with the slightest clue right now.
