Non-trolls don’t use “democrat” as an adjective. It’s the shibboleth of the troll wing of the Republican Party. It’s Trump-speak and is an immediate identifier.

It’s mostly inconsequential, but it’s a little like using “tu” to speak of the Longhorns. An individual use of “democrat party” might not be trolling, but it’s use is a clear signal of troll identity. It isn’t a partisan identity exactly, but they are rapidly become one and the same.

This isn’t a defense of Democrats; I’ve never identified as one. I don’t care if anyone takes a shot at them, but if you don’t want to be considered a troll, don’t act like one.

That’s of course ignoring the constant stream misrepresentations that make up this particular “non-troll’s” manner of communicating.

Definitely. It’s been a troll word for at least twenty years (remember the RNC’s “RATs” ad?).

"Democrat Party" is just a tell that the person using it consumes too much right wing media. I think the "tu" analogy is pretty spot on in that it pretty easily identifies where that persons opinions are formed.

That's a decoy--as a later tweet reveals. He's putting Stefanik on notice (she's going to get the votes) that she better change her ways. Consider it as if Joey Two Shoes   gave a pass to his neighborhood bodega owner's monthly payment because he knew that family had a son in the hospital and he didn't want to charge them the extra interest for skipping a payment. Joey gets waxed so before they install Simpy Fritelli in his place, Simpy knows he better not screw up.

It's always like the mafia because it is structured  like the mafia.

There's a big reason why Stefanik said she won't stay in leadership after 2022 - there's always someone looking to stab you (and not in the back, but right in the chest) to take your place.  And the more Qonservative Freedom Qaucus will be ready to throw their own person into leadership after 2022 at her expense.   And they will need a woman in leadership - MTG or Boobert will be that person.

Joining the democrat party is like being a bushel of crabs in a pot, on the stove top. It's a nice warm bath............ for a while. The incrementalism the party has been playing for a long time is reaching a boiling point.  There will be a battle in your party between the far left, and the folks in the middle who are just as likely to hold conservative views on taxation, gov't intrusion, etc.   That's a party I would like to join.

Let's tax everything, and give it all away to our voting base to keep getting their vote. Let's tax all the rich people more. You can only go to that well so often. Lets tax the corporations, they can afford it (and they can for a while).  Eventually (sooner rather than later) they'll raise prices to cover those lost revenue dollars.

I do not want an ever increasing gov't in my life or an ever growing federal gov't. The more we're taxed, the more they want.  I am a believer in capitalism, and the democrat party is moving toward more socialism.

Am I a troll ? no, but I am trolling the whole BS notion that you can lump all republicans, or democrats for that matter into nicely wrapped up stereotypes. yep.

Has the republican party abandoned fiscal responsibility ? yes on several fronts. Does the democrat party ever think taxes are too high  ? nope.

You know, you could have had the decency to at least wait to get on another page before disproving my point about your status as a troll and proving my point about irony deafness.

Onboard isn't a troll, he's genuinely this stupid.

If true, that's sad in one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Society failed him.

There are social workers who can help him get back on track, if he will ask for help.

Good luck in your journey Onboard. My apologies for poking fun; I thought it was an act.

Well, you see, Republicans are the party of blue collar workers everywhere, and everybody knows that blue collar workers are just one break away from owning their own resort in Florida.

Apparently there was no immediate vote for Cheney's replacement because Stefanik's support is "tepid" within the conference.

Reads to me like certain people picked a young, good looking woman from a blue state with a moderate voting history as their new face and others in the conference were like "wait, what, why? That's not who we really are"

This is wild that you believe this.  This is pure propaganda.  What do you think the purpose of taxation is?

Bro - don’t you even pay no taxes to own the libs?? Plus, using the word ‘socialism’ - even incorrectly - trumps facts or reality. Clearly, Onboard wants no socialisms - or killer robots out and about, grabbing olds in their cold strong steely grip!

I’ve only heard my Canadian friend use that phrase. See, if dotard had called Mrs. Cruz a ditchpig instead of a dog, Ted would have responded with Canuck outrage.

Yep, this.

The Qonservative Qaucus is way too conservative to support someone with a 77.7% Trump score who did not support his signature domestic legislation (TCJA).  Especially a WOMAN.

Two men who are in the running according to Forbes are Chip Roy (no surprise) and Mike Johnson of Louisiana. Johnson spearheaded the Texas v Pennsylvania suit against the election results.

part of tapping stefanik for the job was to be seen replacing a woman with a woman. there wasn't much thought put into it other than briefly considering the optics of a bunch of old white men throwing a woman aside because she won't carry water for another old white man.

they knew they weren't going to put stefanik in that position. she was used, like most women republican lawmakers typically are by the old white man caucus.

I thought Chip Roy was actually more towards the Cheney realm of thinking?  Am I thinking of someone else?  I know he's a shitbag, but I recall being surprised that he actually seemed to be erring on the side of democracy.

sad day when the best you can say of a legislator is that they "seem to be erring on the side of democracy."

Naw, he's shooting his shot and running for the position from what I saw across the net. Can't recall if it was also Forbes, but his rationale was that no one should run unopposed so he was going to put his name in. Uh-huh, riiiiiight Chip.

No doubt that the voting record puts Stefanik in the hot seat, but if they were actually serious about installing a female, not sure who else they would select. Not a lot of selection there. At least height doesn't figure into it, if one has to consider that for the Florida thumbs up.

Let's just look at the 116th Congress (2019-2021) for a possible woman - there's only 3 who vote more than Cheney did with Trump in the most recent Congress where Trump was President the whole time, but 2 of them are fairly new and one is an old hag

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/congress-trump-score/house/

Carol Miller - WV-3 - 97.7% - second term in the House
Debbie Lesko - AZ-8 - 94.2% - third term in the House (won a special in 2018, full term a few months later)
Kay Granger - TX-12 - 93.3% - 13th term but she's an old (78)
Liz Cheney - WY-AL - 92.8%

Virginia Foxx - NC-5 - 92%
Jackie Walorski - IN-2 - 92%
Vicky Hartzler - MO-4 - 91.8%
Ann Wagner - MO-2 - 89.5%
Cathy McMorris-Rodgers - WA-5 - 88% (previous chair of the House Republican conference before Cheney)
Jamie Herrera Beutler - WA-3 - 69%
Stefanik - NY-21 - 65.2% (she's 7th from the bottom for the GOP in terms of Trump support)
