Whatcha making for that special birthing person in your life?

Have not seen my mom in over a year.  She's been holed up out of state, and finally came back to Texas.

Scraped together some stuff for a nice little quiche this morning. Doing a rib roast, some twice baked potatoes, green beans, cheese board and other misc.

What's you method on the rib roast?

Oven @ 200 until it hits 115-120, rub with garlicky horseradish sauce, crank up the heat in the oven to 550 to brown for a few minutes. At least that is what I am thinking. Bloody mary's may lead me down a different path.
