My bros and I were talking about this one. What are the best hip-hop beat drops of all time?

I had this very high on my list.

I saw a youtube video a few weeks ago that outlines the construction of this beat and it was next level for sure. I'll try and find it.

How does the surly hip hop fan community feel about the latest takeover:

He's monotone as fuck, which makes the mix come out weird as hell, he's not quite riding the beat either. He sounds like he's done it before, but not very good and not very long. He'd be a run of the mill performer at a typical SXSW open mic hip hop night, but, they don't have the brand he does. So I'm sure he'll get plenty of streams.

New posthumous Mac Miller out today.

Posthumous shit is generally disgusting imo and this was no exception.

Fucking horrible shit that Mac would never have released.

Still the worst celebrity death that I've experienced. His trajectory was unbelievable.

Yeah I didn't really fuck with it either. Despite my friends saying shit like "yo this kinda bangs!"

Yeah my assessment after listening to it was that it's fine, but hardly essential to his discography.

Fully agree about him as an artist. I didn't really get into him until after his death. He was really putting out some great stuff late in his life.

Supposedly there's a ton of recorded shit in the vault that'll be released eventually.

Mac Miller was in an era that is complete blindspot to me because I was working 70 hour weeks, traveling internationally for work and gained 30 lbs because I never had time to do anything enjoyable like go to the gym, sleep more than 5 hours a night, listen to music or watch movies.

I haven't even tried to listen to his music because I have this notion that if you weren't a part of it in real time, it's just enjoying a documentary and it's not a living, breathing moment anymore. But maybe I'll go listen now that I'm in a more relaxed place in life.
