we struck out a lot in the first weekend

Oh right. Yeah I guess I just chalked that up to being off because of the winter storm.

3-0 count and the batter backs out of the box while the pitcher is in his windup to try and throw him off

I mean ... you only get time out if the ump grants it. Is the ump letting these fucks just step out in the middle of the windup? That should be an automatic strike iirc.

Yep... taking 3 steps backwards. It's perfectly legal, but as the announcers said, the umps don't like it and might fuck you next time around.

Earlier in the season Witt would come out jacked up like a freshman who just tried coke for the first time. That got him into some trouble.

He's toned it down just enough to keep the intensity but narrow the focus. Dude has a great future here.

Not able to watch the game and trying to envision what y'all are talking about here...

Imagine a guy calling time and stepping out of the box except these guys aren't calling/getting time and they're doing it in the middle of the pitcher's wind-up in an attempt to coax a ball out of 'em by doing something bush league-ey.

They don't like it because unless you have time out granted by the ump, once the pitcher starts his windup, the ball is still live afaik. They can easily just call a strike automatically if the batter abandons the box. If they don't, I don't understand why not.

The umps HATE that kinda shit.  It will definitely backfire on them if they keep doing it.

Who was it we played not too long ago that seemed to get every play on every ball that was rocked?

Tech game 1, I think.

Through three games, we are averaging fifteen strikeouts per contest.  That seems like a lot considering we’ve faced the two worst pitching staffs In the league.

Meh he looked like ass at the plate

I remember differently for some reason. Maybe it was that almost homer against aggy that got me thinking he’s a legit bat

Not exactly a huge sample size.

From the small sample size, you can tell he's a 6'5 pitcher who has a big swing that can mash HS pitching but that's it.

basically he'll bat .400 on Tuesday but .100 on the weekend.
