The only silver lining for me is that maybe Smith gets canned.  Not gonna hold my breath though

What does yalls pitching staff look like moving forward? Seems like yall could make some real noise if you got that shored up.

While we're waiting, I highly recommend watching S. Alabama/S. Florida at 5:00p and dropping off some more beer at my house while you do it.

I second this motion.  But my house please.

This isn’t a better explanation, actually it’s worse in terms of managing when the infield is in. I’ve never seen someone so hell bent on giving another team free outs purposely based on “well what if...”. This will be my last response to this topic.

It’s all what if. Strategy is based on potential outcomes. Your ultimate decision should be based on best potential outcome. Your strategy is to play for 2 runs. That’s fine. Mine is to give yourself the best chance at 1 or greater than 2. I’m assuming you can do the math that a man getting thrown out at home means you have the same chance of scoring 1 run in subsequent at bats because that dude who was on 2nd is now at 3rd. Basically I’m treating it as safety squeeze. Bunts down you go.

But yes I used a specific example as to how shit plays out from last night.

This “free outs” stuff is just flat out wrong. The freest out is at first every time. I’m not giving up a damn thing. And in case you weren’t aware Faltine was out at 1st in the example play.

I’ll drop it for everyone’s sake.

Here's hoping for no baserunning mistakes tonight, just to avoid 5 more days of this.

(Who am I kidding? We'll have 5 more days of this, either way.)

Fairfield started Cafaro today, and he only lasted 2 innings before giving way to four others.

One of those 4 was Sansone, who is one of Fairfield’s top pitchers, leading them in Ks.

Their top ERA guy is Grabek and Noviello leads in wins.

Noviello went 5 innings on Saturday and Grabek went 1 inning. McLoughlin started and went 6 innings on Friday with Sansone closing with 2 innings. Noviello looks unlikely.

I’m guessing Grabek gets the start tonight and he might have some arm left. Sansone and Cafaro looks like early relief, which we hope they need.

I know y'all want him gone yesterday, but he may just hold on for at least one more year. Injuries to pitching and overall youth of the team make next year look primed for a good run. Just don't think they can him with those facts in his pocket.

I really hate the damn "bouncing front foot in the stretch" thing. Its a damn balk.

Yeah, another non-enforced game rule like “traveling” in basketball.

How about that guy, I'm talking way back, Cisarik?  Not power, just a 400 hitter all season, something like that? Wow!

Brian was not a large guy, either.  Not a manlet, but not gigantic, either.

Looking like it won’t be on ESPNU now. They’re just starting the Ole Miss game. ESPN web site now shows Texas on ESPN 3.

Wonder if LHN will pick up now or is it too late?

Holy shitsnacks people, it's 8:05p-CDT first pitch.  I swear to God, I'll pistol whip the next guy that says CST.

Hey Farva..........

But yeah, we're gonna be switched onto ESPN3, possibly LHN while the other game finishes, then they'll pivot back to us around 9:00/9:30p

I'm guessing it will be on ESPN News.  It's their default channel when shit is running over.

Glad that we've got a definite on the broadcast as this Ole Miss / So Miss game has 16 - 13 written all over it with it (maybe) ending before midnight.

16-13 through 6 most likely.

They may still be in the first inning at midnight.

From one of my Twitter buds . . .
Tracy Smith’s Resume @ ASU:
-Missed the postseason twice in his tenure (6 full seasons)
Devils only missed postseason twice since 2000 prior to Smith (1 was opt out)
-No Super Regional appearance
-5 out of the 7 worst records since 2000
- 13-14 record against UofA (21-13 prev 7 seasons)

It’s the last point that really steams me.  He had his chance.

Yeah, I just switched over to it.  Holy shit.  45 minutes to play 1 fucking inning.  It's like first day of coach pitch over there but for some reason the dad pitching requires 3 fucking mound visits, presumably to talk about his drinking problem.

We're on LHN and I bet ESPNU just keeps it there until wrap-up show later tonight.

This is a bad year to be bidding against LSU for a new baseball corch.
