The largest manufacturer of fortune cookies is in New York. I think we'll be fine.

Then think of the wax candies and the little tin soldiers with lead paint. And fuck New York.

Unfortunately, I think a better way to look at it is "What's not made in China?" All our womenz would be nekkid in the streets without Chinese clothing and our football team wouldn't have footballs. Our children wouldn't have balloons at the park. And Panda Express would close. And no more fortune cookies. And yes we wouldn't be able to shoot up grizzlies with Fentanyl to make stupid tik tok videos.

I know this is a joke, but I do think that the supply chain issues suffered during COVID have woken up some companies to try to diversify where their products are made.  Frankly the US govt should do more to encourage building out manufacturing in countries a bit more friendly with the states.  I know we tried and mostly failed with NAFTA, but there needs to be continued political and social pressure put on corporations to choose better partners.

I dunno man, that smacks of socialism.  Wait, do I have that definition right?

Fucking blows me away, we have an industrious, hard-working, thirsty for capital, relatively skilled and educated compared to much of the rest of the world...neighbor sitting right to our South.  Never mind Central America as well.  They could infill 1/3rd of our import needs inside a decade with the proper capital infusion and infrastructure.  But apparently they're all busy raping and murdering according to most experts.

I know the socialism thing is completely tongue in cheek, but this is a national security thing imo. Use that as leverage to force change

History is littered with wars started by regimes that rationally should have known better. Even more with wars that got stumbled into before the rational people could stop it.

Place your faith in the Split Atom and Doctrine of Holy Deterrence. Rationality of the Communist Party is a false idol!

And Putin does not have a politburo to worry about behind his back. I assume that the nuclear wing of the MOD is firmly ensconced as the puppetiest of Putin puppets.

48 "missing"?  Hate to break it to them, but.....

For sure, it's been a couple days.  No way anyone is still alive at this point.  Also 48 seems low looking at the number of trucks in that picture.

If they're using their covid math it's at least 3X the reported number.

God, could you imagine if we gave boomers the ability to borrow a bunch of money and pass the debt down to their kids?

While most of those are predatory and awful, there's no bill to pay at the end, right?  You just lose the house and all equity?

I've been to Inner Mongolia. I do not recommend going.

Same. I've actually been to Coal Mines in Inner Mongolia. No fucking way I'd be in a pit there, though.

If you hate your kids, sure, they are great.

You lose the equity that the mortgage was spoken for, sell the house, and pocket the difference.  There's no payment during the carrying of the note, hence the name - you can take money out in a number if ways and it just sits there like a giant boat anchor on the property until sold.  Backed by the FHA

I haven't been to inner or outer Mongolia, but my parents have pics of a friend who goes trophy hunting and he had some awesome pictures taken from there. He is covered in snow on some kind of weird looking horse with his rifle in hand. It looked cold as shit.

How many Mongolians was he allowed to bag, and was there a size or age limit?

If you can't trust a 78 year old guy with a full head of dark hair and a dark bushy mustache that is famous because he says words someone wrote for him, then who can you trust?

Cambodia recently had several human cases and an 11 y.o. girl died.

Colorado, within the last month or so, had dead a dead mountain lion, bear, and skunk test positive.

Yeah, but if China just reported a case that means it has been there for 2 months, has been spreading from human to human, 5000 people have already died, and pets' heads are falling off.

The pic my mom enlarged actually looks kind of like that. Imagine him being covered in a lot more snow, though.

You do not have to pay principal or interest, but in my neck of the woods where hurricanes routinely wreck us, a large part of your monthly mortgage payment is your homeowners insurance and your property taxes. You still have to pay those. So maybe more accurate to say you only have to pay half of your traditional mortgage note.
