My team was atrocious.

Arkansas was #1 all year.

We're both watching the CWS on tv, and that makes me happy.

I'm not above pettiness at all when it comes to this stuff.

Informative summary by Rogers and Fitt.

Should note that Chris Burke stated on SECN that Arizona's offensive numbers may be inflated due to the elevation in Arizona.   Claimed that was the case when he played for the Diamondbacks.    #SEC homer

Tucson - 2389' MSL

Phoenix - 1086' MSL

Atlanta - 1050' MSL

KC - 909' MSL

I can see the argument for UA, but I'm not buying the Diamondbacks claim.

Phoenix is super dry. Probably the driest MLB location. Could play into it.

I don't know how much the lack of humidity plays into it, but during the summer the air gets thin enough that it grounds planes on occasion.

Sergio, using a wedge from about 50 yards, hits a ball that takes one bounce and hits the flag stick.   Ball kicks back off the green, rolls down all the way...back to Sergio’s feet!  Never seen that before!

Pretty sure I saw that in the 2003 CWS.

Blue is giving this dude a pretty low strike zone.  Giving the Stanford pitcher a few inches off the plate.

I'm 54 years old and I've never understood what's so hard about calling the strike zone as defined

On top of a shitty strike zone, this guy is one of those umps who gives you the 2-second delay before he throws out his arm and calls the strike.

He's probably a child molester.

Should have been a double play and instead its runners on first and second, no outs.

Yep.

Stanford doing everything they can to lose this game.  Which is fine.  They're gay.

I meant to post this yesterday, but beer got in the way.  Using a proprietary algorithm -- I blend D1 and Nolan RPI, it's complicated shit -- here are the 1st game matchups, from easy to hard on the higher ranked team.

Tennessee/UVA

Stanford/NC State

Vanderbilt/Arizona

Texas/Mississippi State

So, NC State is doing their best to blow my incredibly complex analysis all to shit, which is a good thing.  The real takeaway is that UTenn benefits greatly from the draw, and we don't.  Fuck it, we're still the real UT.

All umpires are child molesters.  Especially that Don Denkinger monster.

I can buy that.

But the delayed call is a special class of child molesting umpires.
