Not only was he watching it, he would have been jerking off to it had he been able to obtain a non-medicated erection for the first time since the Carter administration.

Yeah, is this supposed to be some "oh now we got him" thing?  Of course he was watching it; he instigated the whole fucking thing.

This investigation is a fucking joke and I imagine the DOJ's is just as pathetic and laughable.  Cunts one and all.

We already heard from Ben Sasse that Trump was “delighted” and “excited” by the assault on the Capitol. But that was second hand information. I assume what this means is that the committee has now spoken firsthand with at least one White House official who confirmed Sasse’s report.

Sasse says Trump was 'delighted' and 'excited' by reports of Capitol riot

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) said Friday that he heard from senior White House officials that President Trump was "delighted" to hear that his supporters were breaking into the Capitol building in a riot Wednesday that turned deadly.

“As this was unfolding on television, Donald Trump was walking around the White House confused about why other people on his team weren’t as excited as he was as you had rioters pushing against Capitol Police trying to get into the building,” Sasse told conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt in an interview. “That was happening. He was delighted.”

“I’m sure you’ve also had conversations with other senior White House officials, as I have,” Sasse told Hewitt.

Yep.  It's better proof of that fact.  Plus, we now have the Fox turds urging him to do something and him refusing to.

It's pretty good inferential evidence that it is what he hoped would happen and wanted to happen.  And, even if you don't accept that, he had a clear chance to avert/minimize the situation and pretty intentionally failed to use it.

So, you have an interpretation of 18 USC 1512 that violence need not be intended or even occur, and that the electoral count is an official proceeding that can be obstructed.

You have a whole raft of loonies with this common "legal" scheme that requires delay and disruption of the electoral count.  And Trump swallowing it whole.

You have the speech on video, to which Donald will say "but I said peacefully . . . "

Then you have him watching in glee as it is not peaceful.

And doing jackshit while his son, daughter, and a half dozen Foxtards tell him to stop it.

That is a pretty scrong circumstantial case that he intended to obstruct the proceeding and did nothing to stop it.

We're actually getting to a state of evidence and proof that a prosecutor could sink his/her teeth into.

And enjoyed every minute of it. over five decades ago he was switched from captain at his military school to a different position where he had no command over underclassmen. Stories vary, and many of the principle characters have passed away or were reticent in discussing the matter, but the switch occurred after a hazing incident in his company where the victim's parents complained. Doesn't take much filling in of the dots to figure it likely crossed the line and that Trump knew about it but didn't necessarily do the deed himself as he was apparently more fond of delegating. Am I speculating? Sure. However, the more recent anecdotes about the former President's behavior and discussions related to the southern border, protests in the PNW and large cities over the summer, and so on reveal that its nascent origin probably began in Cornwall, NY at the New York Military Academy. IIRC, it was his senior year that the hazing was so bad that the head was forced to resign after a cadet was beaten with a chain. That specific incident wherein the cadet escaped the grounds to go to the hospital was not the company that Trump had formerly commanded but given his own incident does seem to hint at what was a part of the daily life as cadets moved up in rank.

We know how he views himself, he has shown us this countless times. That he would blithely view the pain and suffering of others, that he would have no regard for the very foundation of democracy is no surprise.

They could have him on video tape, raping a male baby and executing people and it won’t matter because the criminal syndicate is part of the jury.

Why would he be so delighted to watch a false flag ANTIFA operation?  Makes no sense.

I don't believe that to be true.  Plenty of Trumpkins have been convicted in the last four years.

The fact of the matter is that most of his misconduct occurred while in office, so no one was going to prosecute that, or investigate it much.  And some of it wasn't well-documented or was subject to arguments that what he did was a lawful exercise of executive power, or subject to proof of a state of mind that would be exceptionally difficult.

This is, for once, homing in on what appears to be an actual, provable criminal case.  It's not a slam dunk, yet, but it's getting close.

Of course he was watching.  I don’t get the gravity of all these bombshells.  IVANKA TOLD POTUS TO DO SOMETHING!  TRUMP WATCHED THE EVENTS ON TV!

None of this is going to amount to anything more serious than a censure by Democrats and marginalized lame duck republicans.  There are enough layers between people in the capitol and Trump that there will be no smoking gun of responsibility.

But see, what you're doing here is conflating what you know by intuition with what can be proven in a court of law.

All along, people have been saying "well, you KNOW Trump did this, and Trump did that."   And, as far as that goes, people are probably right.  But that intuition or "dead reckoning" is not going to get the job done in a court of law.

The one possible exception to this that I can think of is the Cohen/Stormy Daniels campaign finance violation.  But, that was never put to proof as Cohen pled guilty to that (along with a bunch of other, unrelated shit), so there may have been proof problems with respect to Trump that weren't apparent despite the recitation of his involvement in the indictment/information.  Also, the five year statute of limitations expired on that in October, at the latest.

Now, it is still possible that Garland or whomever in the DOJ won't have the stones to indict Trump.  But this is trending in a different direction than a lot of the previous wishcasting.

The really bad news is that a convicted felon can still run for President.

Agreed.  And more than a few of the mentally ill who were somewhat functioning in society and who followed this shitshow are now finding themselves with jail sentences/records or other problems that they may not recover from.

Wow, a team meeting 6 months after the investigation began to discuss whether or not those responsible should be held accountable.

Well, in the immortal words of Lt. Vincent Hanna, "I am over-fucking-whelmed."

I suppose reports of a cork board with various photographs and strings of yarn are imminent.

I’d also think that folks who wanted to serve this country by working in the DOJ feel the same sense of looming peril and want to protect the Constitution.

Certainly there are plenty of former staffers and lawyers who publicly call for indictments and prosecutions.

And here is the text; note the "Green Bay Sweep" title. For shame, dragging the Packers into the perfidy. Navarro calls Kevin McCarthy an idiot, but I believe it takes one to know one, although Navarro in his attempt to plug his book is somewhat cagey so as to deflect his own guilt. However, it's obvious neither he nor any of the other players in this very serious game believe they will suffer any punishment for it.

Crime bosses let their subordinates get convicted too.   The only person out of favor with Trump that was convicted IRRC was Flynn and then that was dumped.

What the fuck is that thing he starts doing with his hands at the 0:52 mark.  He seems too old to be doing blow before interviews, but that was some, "Up at 3am in the bathroom with the other guy who's still holdin' and machinating through conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory...unaware that everybody else outside has gone home" type of vibe he's giving off.

Yes, if there's one thing Donald Trump is known for, it's his keen ability to read public perception.

Ya know, when I hear someone talking about an exhaustive three volume document on election fraud, knowing that person had to pay over $4000 in fines for violating election laws when running and losing for mayor of San Diego, California, I think to myself, "hmmmm, maybe this guy isn't really on the up and up."
