Ran into a friend at the grocery store and ended up with a party invite tomorrow.  Cooking baby backs to take and reheat.  Using the coals to start the fire for burgers and sausage tonight.

Currently have a brisket on the smoker, I'll throw 4 racks of pork spare ribs on around noon, and a yardbird around 2.

Other people are bringing sides.  I guess.

Starting shit off today with a bunch of deer. Smoked bacon wrapped backstrap, deer brats, and deer heart slow cooked with peppers and onions

That's the way to do it!

Nothing like Midwest deer backstrap.  Little salt and pepper, bacon, ended with a light glaze of salt lick BBQ sauce.

Brisket pulled and in the oven, ribs on, yardbird in an hour or so.  Many live oaks already consumed.

Eat:  Baby backs on the Weber bullet, corn on the cob, potato salad, cole slaw, and homemade peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.

Drink:  Stone IPA, Eagle Rare, water, and lemonade (not all at once).

Ribs and chicken on the egg. Ribs cooked too long but they taste great. Just too tender and fall off the bone. Didn’t have time today for brisket. Chicken is awesome.

Did a separated brisket point and a rack of St Louis spares on the Egg. Don’t think I let the point go long enough but turned out good. I also made Panther City’s brisket elotes. Damn!

Dad put me in charge of cooking pork steaks for 12 on his Rec Tec. Gave them some rub and grilled them at 400F to start, then into the sauce bath to braise around 275F. After about 90 minutes they went back on the grill to set the sauce. Did two pork butts, a rack of beef ribs and pork belly burnt ends yesterday. Pic taken around 2 PM. Put on pork belly at 4 and forgot to take a pic. It was a good day. Used by FIL’s Traeger grill.

I’ve started cooking pork butts for pulled pork to over 200 lately as I think it pulls easier and tastes better than cooking them to 195 or so.

Aggy BIL showed up with leftover oven cooked brisket. Needless to say nobody ate that shit.
