Yep and there’s plenty of blame to go around going back 20+ years. I am glad we’re out. I don’t want to see one more American casualty to get anyone else out. American citizens die every day in every part of the world. About 200 a day are currently dying of Covid right here in Texas. Maybe you can go back and post all of your outrage about the drawdowns prior to this. I look forward to seeing those posts

Then started a geopolitical post about the history and occupation of the region by administration.  This is solely about the weapons grade shit show we are seeing before our eyes on the way the exit is being handled and the unfolding human rights catastrophe of leaving possibly thousands of western civilians behind with no means of support.

refute any part of what i posted.

You mean besides example after example after example of stranded NGOs across the social media multiverse pleading that they have no support, no way to get out, are in hiding, etc.  and are fearful for their lives.

So you’re saying you just now noticed this in the past week?

Bullshit - you had repeated updates from Generals and intel reports that the ANA was gong to shit the bed and relying on them was suspect at best.  They were ignored.

So everyone knew the ANA was going to shit the bed, everyone knew we only had 2500 soldiers remaining in country, everyone knew Bagram was closed, and Biden warned everyone to leave the country months ago, but it’s still Biden’s fault that these people stayed?

ok

This victim blaming is disgusting.

As if they had access to military and intel reports or troop strength numbers.  That is a contingency the administration is responsible for, not the civilians.  We have report after report of people getting no clear direction from the admin. - what to do, what not to do.  "Get out" - cool, many are contractors and can't just up and abandon their projects.  This base level reasoning is sickening as a rationale for abandoning them.

You waving the bloody shirt while spending the last 18 months supporting policies that cost hundreds of thousands of American lives is fucking rich. Get fucked.

This is my view. WTF did they wait so long? The writing was on the wall, ceiling and floor. I had cousins living in Iran in the 70's working for Exxon. When shit started to turn South, they GTFO. 2 months later the embassy fell. You have to read the signs and know what they mean.

They knew this day was coming six months ago. They had plenty of time to leave the country.

This is what happens when you lose a war.

Didn’t the very last line of the April travel advisory say “sources are extremely limited”? Like get out…but you’re on your own in getting out

I thought conservatives were all for personal responsibility?

The State Department told you countless times to leave. You didn’t leave. You knew the US military was pulling out and didn’t leave.  Was Joe Biden supposed to fly a plane over there and escort them to the airport and fly them home himself?

The contractors who were assigned had plenty of time to leave?  This is fucking absurd.  Being in country is their job.  This newest talking point of victim blaming to try and absolve the administration from stranding them is disgusting

Yes. They had plenty of time to leave. They knew the war was over and that we were leaving. The previous administration told them so.

From what I've been told, we're pretty hard up for help back home, so I'd think they'd of landed on their feet if they had quit and headed back.

How are they to leave?  Just abandon their projects and abscond in the middle of the night?  You think their intentions MIGHT be that the military would help facilitate their extraction or that the military wouldn't FIRST leave, then drop the news on them that they are on their fucking own?

Once they saw what was unfolding, the ANA had collapsed (who they were told would protect them) and all roads were closed.  This collapse took the admin by surprise, you think it might have done the same with the civilians who are all over social media confused as what to do as they received no formal instructions or the ones they got changed frequently.

Doesn’t matter. Ace of aces said this wasn’t in the top 10 for failed foreign policy events in the last 10 years. Ukraine. Syria. Meeting with Kim jong un. Move along guys

Yeah, it's not. We've evacuated more than 83,000 people in 10 days after a government walked off its job one night.

We knew there was a high chance of an attack today - hence why we told everyone yesterday to avoid the gates.

Leaving this shithole is one of the greatest things America has done in a long, long time. Glad someone finally had the balls to pull the trigger.

They had ample time to leave the country. They knew when the end date was. No one had to abscond in the middle of the night. They had months to prepare.

There it is

Citizens.  You forgetting that important piece of information.  Thousands of stranded citizens, for whom ZERO talks of leaving would have been had without first identifying and extricating.  Hence my earlier point about not pulling the military out first, then trying to get people out is monumentally stupid.

And why Kabul?  We can start there.  It was Biden's idea to evacuate bases, before US citizens and friendlies. It was Biden's idea to leave $100's of millions of dollars in equipment ... which gave US forces a competitive advantage ..behind to fall into the hands of a terrorist regime.

It was Biden's idea ... against his Generals advice no less ... to surrender Bagram air base, which is easily defended, had accommodations for thousands to be housed and fed (instead of US soldiers sleeping on the grounds adjacent to the tarmac), that had capacity for more fuel storage than Karzai airport.

Biden wanted the entire evacuation out of Hamid Karzai International Airport, which everyone said was a bad idea. Have you ever seen the movie "The Outpost"? I suggest you watch it. The Outpost will give you a good idea of the terrain surrounding Karzai International....mountains overlooking the airport, like a fish bowl, where mortars and small arms can easily rain down on those inside and make the runways inoperable and personnel on the ground an easy target. Karzai also doesn't have the exterior defenses, like Bagram.

This is a grade A shit show

Oh fuck you for pretending to care about lives.  Your team won't even get a shot to benefit society and remove the threat of a virus and now you pretend to give a shit about people?  Let me guess, you voted for the current republicans in Texas and don't give a shit about how people died or had their property ruined because of their idiocy either.   So let's not pretend like you give a shit.

Biden lied, marines died.

But yes fly him into Kabul right now to help with evacuations efforts. I’m dead serious about that. The US would be much better off

Saw someone say today that Dunkirk would have been covered as a massive failure in the Twitter era.  I think that's a pretty good summation of all of this.

You have a child's brain.

How many American troops do you want to put back on the ground in Afghanistan to get ~1,000 NGOs out?

I’m having a hard time finding critical posts of Afghan strategy over the last two years from our resident GOP shit flingers that pre dates the Biden administration.

What’s there to post about when your commander in chief actual deals with shit? No news is good news right? Taliban sensed weakness for our leadership and they were fucking right.

You dumb motherfucker, Trump cut the Afghan government out of the negotiations with the Taliban. That, more than anything else, is what caused this.

I have no idea at this point. we can’t tell Isis from the taliban. Anyone who didn’t get across the taliban ransom security check point before it was too late is essentially fucked.

Troops should’ve been back on the ground once the takeover was not being handled. Really think the taliban wants more american troops back on the ground? We’re the last ones they want ton fight. Can’t believe that has to be spelled out

They don't understand that Trump was the weak one in this whole mess. Joe Biden is actually showing strength doing what The Donald couldn't.
