Speith and Louie both had about a 6 hole bad stretch that Collin just didn’t have. Louie all today and speith 17 yesterday thru 4 or 5 today.

meanwhile morikowa has had great recovery shots when he gets out of position and made all the putts since his two bogies early yesterday.

He righted the ship after his early struggles yesterday and has been just unstoppable since.

he's just not making bogey. jordan is trying to track him down but morikawa isn't letting him.  after this is over Jordan is gonna stew over 17 and 18 yesterday.

17 was just a stupid play not getting it past the false front and 18 was even more stupid

Open prize money payout

Nice breakdown.  Some notables:

Morikawa $2M

Jordan $1.2M (not a bad paycheck for 2nd place)

Oostie and Rahm tied so each got almost $770K

Dylan Frittelli earned some seed money with almost a half mil (plus an auto invite to St Andrews next year. Sheffler added $300K to his bank account

Bryson earned $67,250 while screaming that his Cobra driver "sucked". I wonder how his next sponsorship negotiation goes?

Fowler made $30K which, after paying his caddie, lodging for the week, taxes, incidentals, etc. means he probably would have been better off staying stateside and filming another commercial.

Love Morikawa. Incredible that he won in his Open Championship debut, without much links course experience. No doubt the great weather and easy wind conditions really helped. He was able to pick the course apart and had a good week with the putter.

No bogies in last 31 holes of the tournament. His mental game is strooong.
