Where are these private/charter schools? Austin doesn't seem to have many that I can find.

There are a bunch of them.  Google still works last I checked.   More privates will come online soon as vouchers now appear imminent after some reluctant Republicans were run out of office.  But there are already tons of them.  I don't know where you were looking but you weren't trying very hard.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure our shelter half tents were left over from the Vietnam era. I don't know when they replaced them, but I believe the ones we used were based on WWII models.  They sure felt like it.

100%. Lived a block up the hill from there in 2001 while we were building our house. Woodmeade, with Panama Myers and some other UT hoops guys living upstairs. Chicks would knock on our door at 3am thinking they were at those dudes' apt lol. Imagine their surprise when I opened the door. Nice enough apartment complex, but on almost any night we could hear gunfire from our balcony.  Also worked that area in AFD for about 20 years. There's all kinds of bad shit going down over there. Not the worst area of town, but sneaky dangerous even back then, and it's gotten a lot worse.

Is that the point of the changes show in that video? If so, has APD been in a coma since before the New Orleans attack?

When those do get here, we're going to be taking up the parking lanes and the south side will be a bike lane as well," Davis said. "Traffic will be flowing westbound in that same westbound traffic, but we'll be operating lights and we'll have extra traffic enforcement as far as DUI enforcement out to help with that."

According to Davis, police will start near Lavaca, Guadalupe and San Antonio streets because those have the most issues.

"When we're talking about calls for service and problems that we're having, that's the area that's kind of condensed to," Davis said.
