Will he change the rules mid season again?

They didn't "change" the rule they recognized that some dumbshit forgot a comma and it read as though in a three way tie, if one team defeated the other two, that you still move on to the next tiebreaker. If you think that a team in a three way tie that defeated the other two shouldn't win a tiebreaker, I don't know what to tell you.

Gonna be interesting battle to see which 2 teams qualify for B12 Championship Game.  What is tiebreaker of Colorado vs Iowa State vs BYU ???

It goes to record against common opponents. Since it doesn't affect me at all I'm not gonna do the math like I did last year from week to week. It's a clusterfuck like it will be for all the conferences going forward.

What a garbage conference top to bottom. I'm going to enjoy watching the MW leap frog them when BYU fucks up. Make the Big 12 into G6.

They don't care. They showed big, mean Texas.

I agree with everything you said, but the DID change the rule. They made a bad rule and re-wrote it midseason after the season has begun. Like the UGA/Texas game with ref picking up the defensive pass interference flag after seeing how bad the call was on the Jumbotron while the Texas students throwing water bottles…just because it was the correct and logical decision, doesn’t mean they should have changed it.

IT had a report about expected coming changes to NIL. Basically, school media revenue can be used, but limited to a percentage. There are no official news reports, but they say their Texas contacts tell them that the conferences with more media revenue (B1G and SEC) will have larger “caps” (they also say that “organic” NIL- genuine marketing and endorsements- won’t be limited, to the benefit of schools located in vibrant business communities).

TheB1G makes more, per school, in media revenue than the SEC. I would expect the SEC to address that with a new contract and a nine game conference schedule.

To catch they need nine and a diversified media deal.   Everything with the mouse is good for exposure, but bad for increasing revenue.    They need to bid out their T1 in the next contract.   B1G will always have the market advantage, which does factor into those T1s because most of the networks own the locals in the big markets, but at the end of the day it won't matter.   The current player cap per school is supposed to start around $20m if the agreement is signed by the judge.    There isn't a school in either conference at the current contracts who can't manage that.

Only 1 CFP bid for B12 with losses by k-state and cyclones today...

They could still get two teams in. If Iowa State and BYU both win out and ISU beats BYU in the CCG they more likely than not both go.

But we'll see what the committee thinks of each conference tonight.

Those teams pulled upsets on us nearly every year from 2010-2022.

Yeah you mean when Texas had one of the worst stretches in the entire history of the program? Sark has us relatively back and we ran the table against those fuck-wads last season.

big 12 fucking sucks, it's not even entertaining, just full of bad football.

Bud Elliott called the Big 12 a really good G5 League. Granted, he’s militantly opposed to Florida State joining the league, but I think it’s a fair statement.

I think what we’re seeing this year is best scenario for the league. BYU is their biggest brand and they’re undefeated. Lots of parity and competitive games behind them. They really need Arizona and Arizona State to keep forward. Colorado becomes irrelevant again after Shedeur leaves.

Are you assuming Sanders leaves, too?  I think as long as coach prime is there, they'll have eyes.  If he bolts after his kids are gone, then Colorado might as well join the MWC.

I think Deion parlays whatever move he can make when his kid is gone, Auburn seems like a reasonable bet in CFB . Or maybe Dallas in the NFL because Jerry just wants to sell tshirts

There’s no reason for CU (or any XII) team to be a permanent cellar dweller. The fans have had a taste, they should be able to get decent coaches going forward and be like the rest of the conference, some good years, some shit years, and some mid years. I don’t see Prime going to Dallas, no way he wants to share the spotlight with the old worthless fuck Jerry Jones if he were to have any success. I wouldn’t wish that job on anyone.

Deion at Florida State seems like the move if/when one ever happens.

I just think its a bit too late , Norvell is too expensive to be fired soon and I don't think Deion stays at Colorado that long. Maybe Auburn for a year or two with a quick move over to FSU

I thought Utah was going to run this conference. I missed the wrong team from Utah. BYU has such a great home field advantage. I don't think BYU will go undefeated but they have a great shot with away games at Utah and Arizona State being their toughest remaining tests.

Well they're all 31, so...

Well damn, I didn't realize that whoever won the conference in the first year of the new alignment was gonna be the permanent "runs this conference" program and that the final first year standings would be the permanent pecking order. Probably should have tried a little harder this season.

Luz, well it certainly won't be oSu for a while and I'm happy that's the case. And nowhere did I say they would be the permanent "runs this conference" program. They looked the strongest coming in and did a pretty great job in the Pac 12. Injuries and QB instability seem to be more their issue. I do enjoy that Texas broke your program and your shithead head coach on the way out.

I still find the Big 12 more interesting than the ACC and honestly more so than the majority of the Big Ten after you get past their top 2 games.

If they can continue to stay semi-relevant they should be fine going into this next iteration.

So I’m really curious on why this needs to be an urgent meeting…

I think because the Big 12 knows it's only getting the champion in this year. The ACC might get two but Clemson might've destroyed that with their loss last week. Maybe if SMU wins out and beats Miami in the ACC championship, Miami would still be high enough to get in. It's silly that SMU isn't ranked higher but BYU winning helps SMU's case. I'd imagine there's also fear that a Big 10/SEC OOC agreement means Big 12 teams are shutout playing those same teams. I agree that the Big 12 is more interesting than the ACC. It's a lot more balanced for sure than the ACC.

Don’t give a single shit what anyone from Baylor thinks or says, fuck them. I said it before, we understood that the XII was only going to get its champ into the CFP most years. When ND is up there it takes a spot and pretty much guarantees only one. It cracks me up that the ACC is still in turmoil and that some programs shit all over SMU in their pleadings and SMU might win the conference in its first year. I’m cheering like hell for it to happen for the lulz.

The Big 12 probably wants to lock in 4-4-2-2.  The ACC is probably arrogant enough to think it’s above that.

I agree with that and it would be perfect for a 16 team model. Add in 1 highest ranked g6 and 3 more at larges

Schools that want to compete have a revenue problem. The SEC makes over twice in media revenue, per school, than the B12, and the B1G makes even more. Then there is game revenue- the price per ticket, the number of tickets, and donations required annually for the best seats; that all favors the B1G and SEC.

Where does that revenue go? Right now, SEC and the B1G use that money for large, NFL style scouting and support staffs. The B12 and ACC schools want to compete, but with smaller staffs, have to have their assistants do a lot of that work. We are about to see B12 and ACC coaches jump to the SEC and B1G just as readily as they jump from FCS to FBS, and for more reasons than just money- the life is better.

The B12, led by Yormark and Livingston, have already had discussions with PE about cash infusions, to close that competitive gap. FSU has, as well, as it tries to compete with Power 2 programs on a Mid 2 budget.

I’m sure the B12 is seeking a structure that will allow them to compete better. I’m also sure the SEC and B1G are working on their own plan.

The other day, I was reading the Baylor SicEm365 board, for laughs. Two things they believe:

1. Art Briles was a good man that was scapegoated

2. The B12 can get two, maybe three teams into the CFP. A one loss B12 team is better than a two loss SEC team.

Fuck Utah. Most undeservedly arrogant fan base in America. Pulling for BYU to win the XII. The attitude of BYU fans and Utah are night and day different when it comes to their being in the XII.

Lock that in based on.. what? They barely have 1 team that’s deserving. They’re already getting something they don’t deserve in an automatic #4 seed with its bye. This is not the year for the B12 or ACC to be trying to lock in extra spots.

it’s possible for Texas, A&M, UGA, Bama, Tenn, Miss to all be 10-2 but yeah… the 2nd place B12 team (who? Fucking Colorado?) totally deserves in over one of them.
