I didn’t say EVERY Big 12 team would have beaten them. They just would have played teams week after week that were designed to.

Their defense would have gotten beat by a couple spread teams.  Louisiana Tech put 57 on them that year running a spread.

A&M's offense fared better against SEC defenses than it would have against Big 12 defenses who had been facing those offenses for over a decade at the time.

What part of "OU sucks" are you having trouble understanding?

Well, none.  They gave up 43 to aggy, therefore they suck.

FFS aggy, just be what you are.    A regional diploma mill with a shit load of students and a good bit of money for athletics.   Try being the best at that before worrying about what others are doing.

Michigan? No. Tech? Maybe.

While that whole screenshot is a disgusting and disconcerting combination of Cringe and Hilarious, I'm just going to point out that they forgot Georgia, which is ranked 10 spots ahead of aTm in the US news listing of public universities. Which in the total college list would probably put them about 40 spots ahead of aTm.

Shit, they're not even the best regional diploma mill in Texas. Tech has that covered and, unlike A&M, they can actually beat the Mississippi schools.

Fuck Tech as well, obviously.

This fucking rube.  Of course the Service Academies are national.  In order to apply to those universities you need to obtain a nomination from your congressman.  Every state is represented in those schools.  To apply to A&M, you just need a pulse.

This is one of my favorite tropes from those atavistic waterheards...the ole "ANOTHER DISAPPOINTING SEASON." Or "THEY DON'T DEVELOP TALENT." It happens during any stretch, or even for just one season, and it is set in stone in the minds of those dimwits that it's an immutable law, and won't change going forward. You'd think us being mediocre in the 90's and then hiring Mack Brown and Vince Young and winning a title would be a lesson, but no. We're still there with "They don't develop talent" and just projecting that we'll have a disappointing season 4 months out from the actual season as fact. Gosh, I wonder why they're always backwards and lack self awareness?

Oh it's because they're stupid as fuck and their echo chamber has all of the diversity of the Royal Family's genetic lineage.

lol Texas is #58 currently with 3 players in the class, including a punter.

guess what? it's going to look even worse when Modden is out of it (somehow he's still a top 100 player in the composite?!)

genuinely, who cares where you are in May before high school is even out? if we are here on 9/2 then sure. that's an issue. but Texas won't be. Texas under Sark has finished 15 (transition class, included a long snapper and a punter + Savion Red who was outside the top 200 in the state lol), 5, 3.

Regarding the yellowed part:

spacer.png

It's the annual parrot song they've sung for decades just as @SydneyCarton describes. Most of the people in Austin don't care about the Longhorns because they come from somewhere else and/or went to another university. The times that I've worked in large office spaces the last ten years, only a handful of people talk about football. [For Aggies reading this: this is because of Austin's growth not a decline in general interest in the University of Texas Longhorns.]

The bottom passage is bursting with ironic truth.

If there is one thing they should NEVER be able to say is calling out some other team for having a joke of a schedule. By the way, Texas is sitting at #21 in the too early SI SOS rankings.  Maybe they can ground pound Charlotte or Northern Iowa or Bowling Green in the near future.

This is classic considering the hype they got last year pre-season and the rapid fall off a cliff they took. That offense last year had trouble scoring in a whore house with a fist full of hundreds.

FTFY.

I also love how they're ranting that On3 is so biased in favor of Texas when Texas only had 4 players on the list, only one of whom is in the top-50.

Can someone point me towards the on3 article/prediction of Ewers to win the Heisman. Hell, can someone point me to ANY publication that has Ewers predicted to win the Heisman? Thanks, I'll NOT wait, because I don't think one existed and I'd be here till I fucking died.

Imagine being so aggrieved, feeling so persecuted based on the whispers in your own head, that you live your life just completely lying to yourself and everyone in the echo chamber you choose to reside.

The only thing I've seen posted are like odds for the Heisman that has him listed. No real predictions.

The “bias sips” at On3 also had Iamaleava as the #1 QB in the final rankings. Facts are irrelevant.

It's almost if they're unaware our RB coach has two players go top 10 in the draft.

Caesar's has him tied for the 6th best odds for winning the Heisman. And you know that Sportsbooks are known for their legendary sip bias.

I don't know, maybe those Aggie receivers are better than the guy they think doesn't belong.

The thing is, nobody is looking at every player on every team in detail to make these general determinations. Aggies assume that they are under a constant microscope, so everyone obviously knows everything about them. Therefore, armed with that knowledge, these national pundits are choosing! to scorn and belittle them.

There may be 20 or 30 or 60 players better than the guys on that list. They are either on shitty teams that nobody watched or have not played enough to get the attention of the guys on the list.

Only these trembling Texags idiots take it personally. The lists are created to generate argument and talk in the off-season not to persecute the heavily-sleeping giant buried deep beneath the black soil of Bryan-College Station.

Evan Stewart was 16th in the SEC in rec yards, tied for 9th in catches, 29th in yards per reception and tied for 9th (which is either 49th or 50th in the SEC) in TD catches with two.

Jadon Haselwood had 59 catches for 702 yards and 3 TDs

Evan Stewart had 53 catches for 649 yards and 2 TDs

if Smith had been healthy he would have been in the list I bet.
