It’s simple to keep politics off of this board. Things here are psychotic at best without pumping the equivalent of sewer water into it.

Most posters agree. Don’t bitch about it, just respect this isn’t the board for it. I’ve not gone into the CR a single time and made a football post. And I won’t.

No one is trying to make the sports boards political. If someone does, handle it accordingly. The thing is that you’ve become so predictable in your Cartman hall monitor role that posters have started to troll you and you end up falling for the trap. If someone says something completely benign like “man, they really fucked up the color of orange on TV tonight it looks like our president-elect’s make-up” you get your panties in a twist and immediately cue up one of your predictable posts. You’re letting yourself get trolled.

I love the narrative of Jimbo and Sark.

As usual they panicked and fired jimbo because they knew he couldn’t beat sark. They “hoped” new coach could stem the tide. As usual they fucked it up again. Or as the cool kids say they “aggied it up”.

jimbo couldn't beat lots of teams/coaches

Very true.

My reasoning is they looked at Stoops and Elko cause they are D coaches. The usual high level idiots over there said we need D coach to beat Sark. They are the Jerry Jones of CFB. Living in DFW and seeing how many times Jones crumbles to media saying things is unreal.

Something that the aggies seem to universally misunderstand is that Texas' NIL efforts were not a response to 5-7. They weren't born out of desperation, to make up for a coach's poor performance, or to gear us up for the conference move. They were purely motivated out of a desire to be the best and to seize the moment. If the early movers had waited for external motivation, it would've been far too late to pull it off.

I have pm proof of the work being done going back to July 29, 2021. That's months before Sark's first game and 7 days after the SEC leak, which means the work started long before. It takes a lot of time and effort to build something new. Especially when you intend to do it well. Until the aggies accept that sweat equity is still more valuable than the dollar, they'll stay little bro.

I'll let the guys on here correct me if I'm wrong about any of the above.

Oh sweet.  That’ll show them.  Case closed. It doesn’t get much more definitive than that.  Where will you be releasing this info?

My understanding is when NIL became a sanctioned legal thing Texas brass said game on , on all fronts.

I think a lot of programs paying under the table didn't realize how much we had been holding back

I don’t think it was “Texas Brass.”  It was almost solely the initiative of a number of folks on this board and Bobby Burton if I recall correctly. Most of those guys have said that the administration was very skeptical of them.

This is really stupid. Jimbo was an offensive-minded coach, sure, but his teams did not have good offense and he was often berated for his old fashioned scheme. He needed to be fired years ago, but they simply couldn't afford it and/or the embarrassment of the sunk cost. Saying this was a response to Sark is probably about as aggy as it gets here.

All very true, but logical, thought-out planning is not how they operate. It's emotional swings, almost always in response to fear of UT success.

He forgot to add the part where he gave the young man he just "gently" grabbed and laid on his back directions back to his car when he was lost after the game.

Pancake factory came very late in the cycle and that plus Cristobal leaving is how we got Banks, Campbell and Williams.

The Aggies were in on NIL months faster than UT, thankfully it was not a full year and it was for star chasing not for strategic recruiting.

Yeah, your timeline AND your facts on this one are completely off. Shocker.

Well you got that Cristobal leaving helped and Jimbo was a star chaser right at least.

Pancake factory announced early december

Banks commited December 11

Campbell Feb 2

Williams commited December 12

Haters are wrong per usual

I'm sorry, what do you think you're proving with this post? Because I was referencing your complete lack of understanding of aTms investiture into true NIL and how it compared to the University of Texas.

I'm fully aware of the timeline of the announcement of the Pancake Factory. You do realize that there's about a half dozen posters on this website who actually founded that organization, right? You never know when you might be speaking to one, Linux.

Texas A&M was the first team to NIL, was it bag men as well? sure, but that is the baseline they have done bag men all their lives and they never had the greatest class of all time. They were the very first school to promise the millions that is standard today. Their inability to follow up the greatest class of all time with a pedestrian one a year later was purely one hundred percent as a result of everyone eliminating their early mover advantage.
