You know, I get a commission on the mumus.

I'm married.

The really wide neck hole on the t-shirt for that extra bit of chest hair is a nice touch. Real professional, I'm going to take great care of your children, vibes.

It's amusing that even the ones that recognize that they're not Texas or Georgia or Notre Dame, believe that the cause, is because they're just too nice and don't cheat.

We're talking about a program that objectively is among the most NCAA-sanctioned teams of all time, and just recently bought an entire recruiting class with funds the head coach himself clearly stated were not NIL.

Buy yeah, they struggle because they're just the nicest cleanest program in all of college football.  Sure, Jan.

Right because they didn't buy that #1 class in 2022 with bag money. They also didn't try to blow up the Big 12 or our move to the SEC. And they didn't throw a wall-eyed fit to get the resumption of the series played there. Super nice, ethical folks.

WHOOP!

They’re also currently pushing to not be tied to Texas after next year if the conference doesn’t go to 9 conference games. Hell, I expect them to throw some sort of fit even if they go to 9 and they’re tied to us as a permanent rival.

I would rather not be tied to that boat anchor of buffoonery, given the choice. They're both hayseeds and pussies.

We should sue to prevent them from having TEXAS on their uniforms. As in, everything they wear should just say "A&M." They embarrass the Great State.

Ever since they bolted the B12 I've been in favor of resuming the rivalry game.  It's not a popular opinion here no the surl, I realize that, but personally I've always enjoyed the rivalry and wanted to see it resume.

But if they really do end up blocking it from the annual SEC slate, I won't say another word about it.  I'm married into a large family of ags that are all kind, decent, excellent people.  But a large portion of their fan base has really become unhinged since the Texas move to the SEC was announced.  And moving forward, I'm fine with as little engagement with those nutjobs as possible.

Who would Texas be paired with for the 3rd permanent rival then? Missouri? That trade kind of works, I guess, since both programs are usually cannon fodder for Texas. The big thing I value about ATM is that Texas basically beats them every 3 out of 4 outings at this point. OU and Arkansas are much more difficult rivalries.

And that's why you want to play them. Thankfully, I do not have any actual aggies in my family. Have some extended cousins who root for them, but not actual aggies. I pay them no mind because they're ignorant.

To me, aggies are like dog shit on the bottom of your shoe. There is nothing good about them, and they just stink up everything in their vicinity. Like washing dog shit off or throwing away those shoes...

Yeah I don't know the answer.  From an "ease of victory" standpoint, Mizzou would be fine.  From a "fun game" standpoint, LSU would probably be more interesting.  But the Geaux Tigers probably have their own list of rivals they'd prefer to maintain.

Really, the sooners, pigs, and ags make the most sense.  And I suspect the SEC will want to continue all three of those, or at the very least the TAMU and OU games.  But if the ags somehow whine their way out of playing us, then I'll no longer lament the loss of the rivalry, and I'll never ask for it to return.  Some of those people have become really, really delusional and scary, and I'm fine with limiting engagement as much as possible.

Maybe, but I also grew up with the rivalry in the old SWC, and had plenty of friends and neighbors who were of the annoying variety.  It sucked in the 80s and early 90s, but then it got really, really good, kicking their asses almost every year.  That was very satisfying.

The way they ascribe Texas’ success to Texas being cutthroat while the Ags have scruples…🙄

Jackie Sherrill is, in the hive mind, the bestest, purest Ag coach, ever. And that dude is one very weird sociopath.

Thx. That’s interesting. I figured that if the SEC stayed at eight games, OU would be the permanent rival, and Arkansas would be most pissed about us not having an annual game.

A simple donation of a truck by my best friend's dad to the Jackie Sherrill Foundation in 1989 facilitated for him 1) A room in Cain Hall with a 6'10" Serbian basketball player and 2) A track scholarship for throwing the javelin.  He couldn't spell javelin, much less throw one.

Cannon fodder is always funny to me especially when it pertains to whooping the shit out of someone

His assignment was probably to facilitate the Serbian giant’s javelin needs.

The ratings for the Texas vs Texas A&M games are of such that it’s going to play a role in going to 9 games, IMO. Same for LSU vs Bama and others in the conference.

Is the SEC really going to 9 conference games? Ignoring for a moment that ESPN would have to pony up to make it happen, I can't see it unless they get the committee to guarantee them four playoff spots. The SEC could only get three teams into the playoffs with an 8 game schedule this year. I can't imagine they are going to cannibalize their playoff hopes for more regular season cash. Seems like it would ultimately devalue the overall product and really change the narrative if they aren't dominating the playoff bracket. This conference made its bones off of bullshit scheduling and national championships.

I would hope that the people that actually run the SEC would be able to be the fucking grown ups in the room and to tell the aggies to shut the fuck up.

Natural, In-State, 100 year rivals should not be split up simply because one of them is being a sniveling bitch. Especially to the detriment to the rest of the teams in the conference being forced to create fake rivalries just to tap dance around and appease the sniveling bitches.

“We won’t even consider this until you ask publicly” ought to do the trick.

Loss column bias is real. There are five SEC teams in the latest Sagarin top 10. There are three SEC teams in the AP poll top 10. There are more good SEC teams (10 SEC teams in the Sagarin top 25) and it is a 16 team league. There are seven B1G teams in the Sagarin top 25 and it is an 18 team league. It is easier for a really good team to finish even a nine game B1G schedule with 1-2 losses.

ESPN would love a nine game SEC schedule, and would probably pay for it, at least comparable to what the B1G gets. I think the SEC will need assurances from the CFP first (would have helped if Tennessee or Georgia could have won a game).

They’re going to go to 16 teams and guaranteed slots for the P4, with the Big 10 and SEC getting 4 apiece. That’s been in the offing since this started.

Getting rid of 16 trash non-con games, 14-15 of which are FCS and adding 8 high quality conference games is worth way more money for the conference and tv from a ticket and inventory perspective. If folks don’t think this is oriented around money, then, well, they haven’t been paying attention.

I wonder if they’ll go to 16 in the CFP earlier than thought (like next season), because the 1st round bye sure looks like a boobie prize. (But, what to do about Conference CGs then? Georgia won the SEC CG but got their two year starter at QB out for the season)
