Loss column bias is real. There are five SEC teams in the latest Sagarin top 10. There are three SEC teams in the AP poll top 10. There are more good SEC teams (10 SEC teams in the Sagarin top 25) and it is a 16 team league. There are seven B1G teams in the Sagarin top 25 and it is an 18 team league. It is easier for a really good team to finish even a nine game B1G schedule with 1-2 losses.

ESPN would love a nine game SEC schedule, and would probably pay for it, at least comparable to what the B1G gets. I think the SEC will need assurances from the CFP first (would have helped if Tennessee or Georgia could have won a game).

Sagarin currently has Alabama ranked #8 despite getting curb stopped by a shitty OU squad with a losing record, losing to a shitty Michigan team in their bowl game, and managing to drop two other games along the way. I don't give a shit what they computers say. Alabama isn't a top 10 team and didn't deserve to be in the playoffs, all of which was hilariously proven in one of the better "ball don't lie" moments when lowly Michigan beat them.

What? Beating Old Dominion, Akron and Wofford didn't impress you? You think beating Mississippi State instead of Akron would have made a difference?

Comparied to the 3 you menioned, yes. Or Arkansas. They barely missed it by a fucking cunt hair as things stand.

I agree with the premise , yet here we go playing OSU

Sure. But OSU didn't lose 3 regular season games. They didn't lose to Washington (in-conference with the same record as OU) by three touchdowns. The other game they lost was to the team that was ranked #1 in the country for longer than any other team. And then they avenged that loss in the playoffs. They were already in when they lost to Michigan.

Non-CFP bowl games are exhibitions, probably less meaningful than spring games. Alabama played two top 10 (Sagarin) teams, winning one and losing one. They played six Sagarin top 30 teams, winning four and losing two (one of which was Michigan in the bowl). Who would you have above them? ASU, who played only one top 10 teams (losing to Texas) and only four top 30 teams)?

Ole Miss was also a playoff bubble team. Trade their win against Furman for a win against Vandy or Mizzou and they have a much better argument.

After the top 8 teams or so, I don't think it matters. Those are Tier 2 teams that didn't do enough to convincingly earn a spot in the CFP (except Arizona State, who earned a spot by winning their conference championship game). And at that point it's somewhat subjective. If you're trying to answer the question of "who do you think is a better team", you have to weigh potential and results. Alabama certainly has the capability to beat any team in the country. But you also have to take into consideration how they performed on the field. Their loss to OU was so pathetic and embarrassing that it was disqualifying and relegated them to the second tier of schools who did not earn a spot but were hoping for one. If they would have beat OU, they would have been in. Simple as that. But they didn't.

I don't give a shit how you rank any of the schools between 9 and 17 in the AP poll. They're all Tier 2 teams this year.

Also, sorry to derail this thread. I'll stfu now.

Is the SEC really going to 9 conference games? Ignoring for a moment that ESPN would have to pony up to make it happen, I can't see it unless they get the committee to guarantee them four playoff spots. The SEC could only get three teams into the playoffs with an 8 game schedule this year. I can't imagine they are going to cannibalize their playoff hopes for more regular season cash. Seems like it would ultimately devalue the overall product and really change the narrative if they aren't dominating the playoff bracket. This conference made its bones off of bullshit scheduling and national championships.

I really think after the ‘25 season ESPN will force them to with the $$$ offering. Their long standing “cupcake” November game will be filled with a SEC foe.

The only smart poster there is WilliamHewitt. The other psychopaths, well, I sincerely hope they have every opportunity in life to harass Sankey in person and then yell Gig 'Em!

Things that did not happen. There's no taking another passenger's overhead bin space in first class. They also would never force first class to gate check before the cattle in coach. The responses are borderline psychotic

The stories they make up are hilarious. Not sure if they do it because it is turdition or because they're just crybabies, but Fantasyland must be a special place.

The only agreement anyone ever had with that glorified JUCO was to let them in the conference. They have proven to be unethical and terrible partners who consider any agreements only good as long as they benefit from them.

See: always voting for unequal revenue sharing, plotting behind the Big12's back for a couple of years, lying about it, and then trying to destroy the conference after they ran away from it. And I just checked my notes-- yep .500 in the Big 12 and .500 in the SEC. 100 year decision indeed!

Yet crying about unequal revenue sharing, even though they benefited from it, even though they shouldn't have.

And bragging about how much money they bring because of their enormous popularity. The SEC didn't need a brand like Texas because they already had the fabulous Aggie brand!

Anyone would be lucky to have them! Everybody wants them!

Regarding revenue, those sniveling little shits won't have any issues cashing those bowl payout checks from Sankey, the largest portion of which will come courtesy of big brother.

And I'm sure those welchers didn't refund a portion of the payout the year they bitched out of their bowl game vs Wake Forest.

Poor aggy indeed.

Also, an aggie would not be flying in first class.

Would anyone on here know Sankey if you bumped into him on an airplane? It's weird to me that the aggy recognized him.

That pic is any old dude's back of their head. What makes you think that guy actually recognized him either, as opposed to just any old fan fiction?

Goddamn, is literally every thread on the $9.95 board going to be about obviously attractive women and the gay men that won't bang them?

NTTAWWT. But come on. We have Aggies to make fun of.

Like how fucking stupid are they to not clock that Austin doesn't have an NFL team? That's the obvious meaning behind the statement "wherever Ewers plays next year, won't be in Austin, Texas." Right, because he'll be in the NFL. But the chucklefucks that run TexAgs know their audience is so stupid and blinded by hate that they'll immediately assume that means Ewers is transferring. So they throw the chum in the water and see how these idiots lap it up.

Agreed. aggy is blinded by hate, they can’t see their own desperate need for a transfer QB.

I know someone in the sip program and he’s pretty high up. They told me that ewers is going to transfer. Like I said, pretty high up.

Disingenuous pieces of shit that can't generate an original thought about anything.

Yea, Texas is famous for throwing starting QBs under the bus and blaming them for everything. Wiggy and the magician. Again has new admirers:
