Considering those morons gave a guy who has never had a HC position before a $4m buyout, nothing should surprise anyone when it comes to aggies and money.

Wanna get rich quick? Apply to be an aggie HC for any sport. That's the real lottery.

Really?

I know we really yuk it up about those hayseeds, but, come on. That AD is repaying a loan to the (state funded) university, and is about to start cutting checks to athletes (and it will probably pay over the required $20.5M).

At some point, doesn’t the state have to provide adult supervision?

You would think, but aggies have a hive mind of stupidity. There's no pill to cure that. They just light money on fire for the sake of seeing the flames. It's truly mind boggling that something so simple cannot be learned at that place.

I wasn't too surprised to learn they gave Earley $4m buyout because of idiocy, but at the same time my face went to this...

On their boards, Baylor, TCU and SMU fans like to call Texas out as “welfare U”, as if athletics were funded by the state. It’s bullshit, as we know, since UT runs a profit on sports. However, with the Ags, they may have a point.

Well since those teams don't win and need UT to survive and be as relevant as they can, I would surmise they were either born with encephalopathy or their brain just hasn't developed past prepubescent.

Have you seen the Texas legislature?

I mean, they realize they had to overpay to attend lesser schools than Texas. That probably stings a bit.

If they had expectations of going past the first weekend with a basketball team that lost 2 of 3 to Rodney terry’s Texas team, then they had a poor grasp of their team’s ability despite sufficient evidence.

I’ll edit to add that the game they won was at home.  How many home games do they get in the ncaaT?  Oh yeah zero. How many teams do they play that are as good or better than Texas?  Oh yeah all but maybe the first one.  They went out exactly where they should have expected to.

They have to find the $ to fire Earley somehow.

Putting him in charge is like Texas going from 2005/2008 Mack to Chris Jesse.

….which, in hindsight…..

If by “them” you mean “One poster who does not have an AG tag.”, then I agree. I found that post funny as well, even if it was probably a troll.

I did glance at their baseball & basketball boards a bit and enjoyed seeing this:

IMG_8120.thumb.jpeg.710285f10347641c26dfe9d15abfd02a.jpeg

And enjoyed learning that:

•Michigan fans are the worst.

•The school retired Wade’s number DURING THE SEASON. (WTF?)

•Wade was 9 of 41 in last year’s 2nd round game & this year’s 2nd round game combined.

NOT clutch.

I did enjoy this person’s response to putting Wade’s number up in the raptors and not the former leading scorer, King.

😂

They have a player on this year’s team that they deemed worthy of retirement of his number?

lol that speaks volumes.

At least they displayed a decent player's number in Acie Law IV. According to Google they don't "formally" retire numbers, since they don't have a policy for it.

His number is, however, permanently displayed in Reed arena signifying his contributions to the program. So yeah, there's that, at least.

That and their basketball history is similar to that of the Washington Generals.

Hey, at least he didn’t invite those dissidents to meet him out in the parking lot.

The one guy is apparently a powerlifter, so of course Liucci watched his words.

I like how Liucci denies influencing national media when he constantly uses his Texags platform to bring national guys on and then goes onto theirs and aggressively pushes ATM in every sport, every cycle.

That's a great theory,  but I propose that it goes much deeper.   At Schloss' suggestion, Earley actually agreed to bring down Aggy baseball!  There really needs to be an investigation.

Schloss also paid off AD Trev for him to hire Earley and then for Trev to sell it to Ag big money so they would open up their checkbooks and break the bank on NIL to keep the roster intact.

The evil genius in Austin had time to hatch that plot while also putting together a competitive 2025 roster, the top 2026 recruiting class, and be tied for 1st in conference two weekends into the SECSECSEC season.

The Longley is a sip plant post is in that thread as well. We could have seen all the strikeouts coming when they hired him as the hitting coach, but I thought they still might score some runs.

Dating back to 20 years after aggy's last football "natty" puts this one squarely in the Pleistocene.

Aggie dunked his ring, drank it, and passed it in a drunken stupor some time later?

Good thing this guy is wearing gloves.

Well, the 87 year old dude was ahead of his time. He was too young to remember their peak in sports in ‘39 and smart enough realize he’d never see another one. In any sport. He probably ditched it after another embarrassing loss in _______ sport to Texas.

Why doesn’t he just look at the name on the tombstone next to him if he wants to find out who the ring belongs to?

Holy shit. Liucci might corrupt time and space in order to reach across sites and ban that poor bastard in both places. AgTx needs to be watching his six because publishing something that accurate about that organization is a very dangerous thing.

We suck, but we're about the same as t.u.

I see they stick with one of their "modern era" start dates.

image.thumb.png.82eadaaac9d8641919a6b917f912fd85.png

If they go back to 1939, they'll have an even smaller conference to be mediocre in.

Dang. Being fancy put me in second place.

How small does that list get if he starts with 1939? 1973, haha...never won in basketball, never won in baseball, 1939 for football.

Off the top of my head, the list would be shrunk by Okie State and Minnesota, at least. Not sure about any others.
