If it were Tennessee trying this against USCe they would laugh. But since it's rgem, they cry. The irony.

And I love Texags nerds complaining about other sites being "biased." Lest we forget, their precious Olin was scolding Malik Jefferson about picking Texas years ago. And Kris Boyd. And I'm sure there are others I just can't recall

Oh, and how Josh Pate was slobbing their knobs after their historic '22 class until this year when he realized they are who they are. And he's buddies with Pedo-Looch

I think there's something to be said for not being the jihad game for every team on the schedule. Florida players, for instance, are less likely to whip themselves into a frenzy to play us than every team in the legacy Big 12 and the same goes for most of the schools we play now. You don't hear a bunch of big bad Texas quotes from opposing players/coaches midweek.

Expand

this is a great point

not until you posted this did i think about the conspicuous absence this season (other than from aggy) of the bitching and caterwauling about big evil texas every week week after week

if we can get rid of aggy and pig on an annual basis and play only 1 every other year life will be grand

This is actually completely untrue historically in this game. The favorite wins an overwhelming majority of the time.

My view on why that occurs is that this game does not sneak up on anyone.

It's been so long since we played them I decided to look at this because my recollection is the same and it pretty much checks out.  I've been to every game we've played them except 2 at Kyle Field since 1994.   Here are the only arguable outliers.

1998:  A&M's last conference championship and Ricky's record breaking game.  That was a good A&M team but that Texas team by year end was really fucking good.  Don't know what the point spread was but bet it was close.  The AP rankings (A&M at #6 but Texas unranked) didn't reflect reality.

1999:  We were a clear better team but lost with a crazy set of circumstances.  Bonfire game, Hullabaloo Dinesh Dinesh (no team breakfast at the Ramada) and Major hit with a brutal stomach bug that morning.  Simms first ever start + that atmosphere and we still should have won.

2006 and 2007:  Both frustrating as hell.  Colt started game dinged up then got hurt at the end in 2006 then we lost to a shitty A&M team at Kyle in 2007.  That 2007 game is probably the biggest outlier as a game we had no business losing.  We really had no business losing either of these games.

My god, some of those folks are so detached from reality. Like just a complete lack of understanding of the current CFB world.

Well, aggy may not get NFL talent at receiver out of the portal.

115th in passing offense.

This guy is really smart.

I particularly like the Aggie habit of tracing the provenance of their genius. I've said this many times and have the clippings to prove it!

This guy knows what's important when it comes to rankings:

He completely left out the colossal screwing A&M is getting aphabetically here. It's University of Tenn and t.u.. Aggies starts with an A and they should be A-lone atop the SEC rankings. T-sip toxicity at its finest!

Um...huh? Brings it home pretty well, though:

Lastly, an enormously worthwhile comment:

It wouldn't be surprising.

Auburn has a solid D and have been in pretty much every game this year. It's just a matter of how much Auburn's offense wants to shit the bed.

Peyton Thorne is a bad dropback passer with very little run threat, aka the aggy defense's dream opponent. A&M is going to win.

Hunter is one of the better RBs in the SEC.

This has a 20-17 score feel (either way) if Auburn just gives the ball to Jarquez Hunter. The South Carolina game showed where you can punish aggy's defense.

And this. Them rolling in as a top 15 team beating their chests about an assured victory would be much more entertaining.

In these situations, I like to ask myself:  What would be the MOST aggy outcome possible?

IMO this season, that would mean them beating NMSU on "Senior Night" *wink wink*, and then just absolutely SHITTING themselves at Jordan-Hare at night.  As others have remarked, Auburn has been in close games and has a decent defense along with a strong running back.  It is not the farthest fetched idea to see them struggle mightily (first real test without Moss in the backfield as well) and lose that game.

They will be rabid for our matchup in shitsville, but them losing to Auburn would make perfect sense if you consider historical precedent and aggy logic.

BAS is not a thing. How many aggies do you know that ever expect the worst? They pat each other on the back for victories they will win in future or could have won if they had a chance to play. They are the most overconfident bunch of underachievers in the sport, and it's not even close. If BAS was a real thing, their boards wouldn't be so entertaining every time Lucy again pulls the back. Instead, that raw pain of reality hitting them in face is what is so damn exhilarating for the rest of us normal folks.

One of the first symptoms of Brainless Aggie Syndrome (aka "BAS" or, less redundantly, "aggy") is the crippling and nearly complete inability to take in information that contradicts a fantasy worldview. Close behind is the departure of the capacity to draw simple conclusions from clear and relevant data.

Eh. If we somehow fuck around and lose that game I’d prefer it be meaningless with us still going to the playoffs and them going to the Texas Bowl.
