It wasn't just Jameis.  His recruiting competition (Miami and Florida) both sucked when he got the job.  And the ACC when he started was awful as Miami was down, Clemson was down, Va Tech was nothing special, and Louisville was in the Big East.  He got lucky he did not have to face a great team in the BCS title game too,

Looks like Jimbo is gonna have to start playing the big boys now....which is the reason aggy went to the secsec....isn't it?

Their schedule is even tougher in 2019. Jimbo won't get a bounce back season in Year 2.

At Clemson, Georgia, and LSU.

Home games against Bama, Auburn, and South Carolina.

So yeah, 3 of the last 4 CFB Playoff teams, and 2017 SEC West Champs Auburn. Good luck with all that.

Half expected to read that the waterboy has improved his times and was creating some real buzz.

OMG, I'm so frightened of the Aggie juggernaut after reading that... every one of their players sounds amazing. I guess we should just cancel the football program now...

Both signal callers look like different guys walking around than they did at this time a year ago.

However when they throw a ball they morph back into the same old shit.  Hence Jimbo's new pro-style offense is called "Different Guys Walking Around".

Should be good for about two off-sides penalties per game.

Pretty sure we read similar positive press about Dayloon Mack #wrts last summer. Are we sure Loochi didn't just cut and paste last year's bullshit?

We saw all these motherfuckers in their spring game like 6 weeks ago. That's A LOT of body reshaping and improvement during a period where they've only seen Schmidt and his gang of old school idiots.

He's reached then in a way the previous staffs haven't been able.

Seems like most aggy are debating whether they should expect 9 wins this season or moderate their hopes a little and settle for just 8. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

I watched their spring game, they suck. The fact the Billy can spin this shit is mind blowing.

It's easy to "spin" something when all you have to do is tell your customers exactly what they want to hear with no desire to hear anything negative.

It is obvious that those fans LOVE being lied to by the fact that any sign of truth from their writers is immediately shouted down and the writer diminished.

went back to look at the spring game posts and highlights that we covered here and I had forgotten how funny this shit was ...

I've watched that clip at the 2:12 mark at least 20 more times. I cannot decide which is funnier the LB that never comes out of his stance, Tucker's hilarious bite on play-action, or the fact that Sternberger pulls away from him like he's a DE with a bad hammy.

Thanks. Appropriate username is appropriate.

I figured 7 was the number. I think 6 is more likely than 8, but I doubt I'll get the joy of seeing the Ring Bearer getting his ring finger bitten off by Reveille for not making a bowl game. (Edit: Looks like Vegas thinks 8 is more likely than 6...I was finally buying into aggy being truly bad.)

With 3 gimmies, I see how they get there, but they're vastly overestimating a coaching staff of recruiters getting that much more out of what they have. There are no sure victories in the SEC for them this year. I see them going 7-5, with another loss in a bowl game.

Brewster salary revealed.

  Quote

Tight ends coach Tim Brewster, who is known as an ace recruiter and was one of three coaches to come with Fisher from Florida State, has a base pay of $425,000. He made $452,000 a year ago in Tallahassee.

Expand

I'm sure all the talk about Aggy out-bidding everyone for Brewster's lit services won't come back up now after finding out that he's making even less than he made at FSU.

  Quote

Defensive ends coach Terry Price, who played his college ball at A&M and was on the previous staff under Kevin Sumlin, received a raise. He will earn a base salary of $500,000, up from $325,000 a year ago. Price has been at A&M since 2012.

Dickey is the one that surprised me ...

  Quote

Offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Darrell Dickey was hired away from Memphis, where he had the No. 4 offense in college football a year ago. Dickey has a three-year deal and will make a base salary of $800,000, the same amount former offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone was paid in 2017. Dickey was making $275,000 at Memphis.

Let's talk about Darrell Dickey.  He has been the OC at numerous stops and at Memphis.  Here are the stats.  And note that when Mike Norvell was hired he took over play calling duties.  That was 2016.  Dickey is the only OC I have ever seen with a longterm record shittier than Shawn Watson

He was brought in to be the sacrificial lamb for the 2018 failures on offense and is being paid handsomely in advance for it. Jimbo is and always will be calling plays and making the gameplans.

I think the point is that you're paying $800,000 to an OC to get Jimbo's offense. You aren't getting Mike Norvell's offense. I hope this is the case. Nothing will be saltier than Aggie Twitter when Starkel, down by 3 scores, is checking down to his RB on 3rd down while the nation reminds them how much Jimbo is getting paid.

I mean, if they're willing to pay a guaranteed $75M, then $800K is nothing.
