i wasn't really sure the first few eps, they were doing more scenes with yoga and meditation and 'enlightenment' stuff...but once they got into the character stories exclusively i have really enjoyed it. Frank, Rick/Chelsea, and the trio are the most interesting stories, but i also love what PP is doing on her role.

i think for me the biggest difference this season is...S1 was freaking Hawaii and S2 Italy was breathtaking. Thailand basically looks...hot,  humid, buggy, and not particularly enjoyable. some of the shots are incredible (like the yacht among the islands) but overall everything generally looks hazy, the sunlight is very desaturated, i'm pretty sure we haven't seen an actual blue sky since the season started. even when the guests are supposedly sunbathing around the pool, there's no direct sunlight. the light constantly looks like dusk. and apparently i do not like it lol.

i have wondered if that's just the season during which they decided to film or if the climate is always like that...🤔

Sure. It's just that it makes for boring television. He feels like a completely wasted (literally and figuratively) character. What's the point?

Haven’t they had those before in this series? I think that entire family is flying home together in a montage with slow music playing and 1000 yard stares.

It do be humid af there. But, I live in Hawaii and think in general Thailand beaches kick Hawaiis ass. The show isn’t really showcasing that though. Time of year does matter but direct sunlight is definitely not an issue.

Tim’s arc over the past three episodes hasn’t been about what he does, but about how he’s thinking.

Previous episode has him struggling with thoughts about how to kill himself, then the monk gives him a model of the afterlife that gives him the resolve to actually do it.  But before he can do it, Victoria says she can’t live an uncomfortable life, which he knows is waiting for her, so he adds her to the plan.  Now Saxon throws his eggs into Dad’s basket and links their fates.

Tim hasn’t “done” anything… except cook up a plan to murder/suicide his family which IMO has been fascinating to watch.  I think it’s pretty ingenious the way they have shown it progressing.

To me it’s a better show to watch in real time verse binge. Watching it real time definitely makes you want to see what happens next week vs binging. I quit halfway through season two but once I started s3 I went back and finished s2. S3 I think wouldn’t be the same binging. But it may just because I am ready to see what the fuck happens next week. They do a great job of giving you something about a character(s) but jump to the next right when you think you are going to get the whole story

Not sure what else y’all want from Tim. He’s at a resort in bumfuck Thailand catatonic on benzos and booze contemplating murder/suicide. That’s exactly what a person in that situation would look lllike.

Eh.

I'm digging the season but the lorazepam subplot has annoyed the shit out of me by this point.

Tim should have gone blackout at the very least, or comatose the way he's popping those and downing whiskey.  Esp if he had never taken them.  PP should have gone thru withdrawals like hell as others have said.

I hope he does die more than the others on this show given his murder fantasies.

His midday nap on day one was about right. But yea PP would be having a bad time and needing to supplement much heavier with booze than they’re showing. If this was season one I could prescribe her a bump, I run in to this literal scenario weekly with benzo patients from Four Seasons Maui
