Maybe don’t grow that fruit easily accessible to the guests where if you eat it you die. “Oh that? That fruit you’re holding right now? Yeah it’s shockingly poisonous. So don’t eat it! lol.”

That dude looked moments away from suicide the entire season. He would walk into a room, fight back tears, chug a glass of booze, and say someone like “Hey maybe death isn’t that bad.”

A family member would say something like “Hey are you ok? Well you’re basically unresponsive, which I will take to mean you’re fine. Anyway, I’m going to the pool.”

We were disappointed.  The Lochy situation and I guess that was blamed on bad leftover coconut milk.  We can only surmise they are returning to scandal, shame and ruin.

Hated the resolution for Rick and Chelsea.  Hated the Belinda resolution; her son will spend that fortune in a heartbeat.  Hated that Gaitok pussied out on fingering the Russians and he made bodyguard for the now widowed boss.  Hated we got no more nekkid Laurie and that the ladies had no danger from the Russians and Laurie didn’t say anything.

Rick was an unlikeable asshole. Plus, just hanging around the resort eating breakfast after what happened in Thailand? Come on.

Newly rich Belinda fucking over the help? Sound familiar?

Gary/Greg is not going to counter the 5 mil offer? Come on. 100K to 5mil. Stupid.

all the ladies decide to be best friends again over dinner? Hmmm.

Lochlan lives? Apparently, not a very effective suicide fruit.  Tim wins dumbass for the year leaving poison in a blender over night. Tim needs prison time.

Lochlan not dying was a cop out.

Meh.

Rick's character was originally written for Woody Harrelson but he tried to hold out for more pay and they cast Goggins instead. Huge fan of Goggins I think he's a conedic genius but the character would make so much more sense as Woody. Goggins may have originally been on board as Rockwell's character

I actually liked the finale after being somewhat critical of the season I thought the stories ended in a logical way. The female friendship storyline was beautifully written.

I think the Gaitok/Mook storyline was written for Thai audiences so it had a different tone but I enjoyed his arc. Now that he shot that dude and getting that sweet LISA puss I think the buddha would approve. He can use the Russians as an asset

WL pays everyone the same and it’s not negotiable.  Harrelson was offered Rick but was really planned for Frank.  Imagine woody with the ladyboy monologue.

pretty much with you on your synopsis except for this...the ladies friendship was spot on, that's basically exactly the kind of evolution and resolution that happens in that dynamic. i don't know how MW did it but their whole storyline felt the most honest and true to life...been there, done that lol 😊

i enjoyed it but it was definitely heavier than the first two. agree that not having a strong hotel 'boss' role was a miss.

It turns out that the big twist was how every resolution was almost completely predictable, with the only possible exception being that none of the North Carolina people died before Mr. Duke finding out that he was in the clear.

They missed a tremendous opportunity for Belinda to fall off the boat and hit her head at the very end.

Enjoyable show, but unsatisfying finale, and overall, the weakest of the three.

Not the most satisfying finale because this was the first one that a good character got killed. Tonya was a mess and a narcissist so she wasn't very sympathetic. I liked how they left it with the Ratliffs. They didn't tie it up in a nice little bow where he gets out of his legal trouble. They go back knowing their world has changed. Belinda becomes Tonya. Overall, I enjoyed the season but they didn't quite land the plane. If you know this kid is your son, you then decide to intentionally anger him by insulting his mother? Not to mention Rick even returning to the hotel and not just getting Chelsea and leaving? Rick was a dipshit with his plans but the guy could shoot.

No, it's totally effective.  It's just that the antidote is someone slapping your face and shaking you.  No medicine or medical care otherwise needed to counteract the poison.

Was a bit of a slog of a season and a finale.
There were some good parts throughout season but for me by and large not something I would ever rewatch and I think ai may be out for S4.
Also Lochlan not dying to me was a total cop out. Would have been great for Belinda’s boat to blow up at end as well.

I was waiting for some type of twist or something interesting there. He offers $100k. They counter with $5 million. They, evidently, give him her account number and routing number. He accepts and pays $5 million. They leave. The end. Great storytelling.

I think I’ll just binge it at the end. This season would have made a great 2.5 hour movie

It was not a good 8 week show

Season 1 was so new and different that nothing was expected and how it ended. I can see why everyone enjoyed it. By the time this one came around you kind of had an idea of how MW thinks and where the show may go. We talked a lot about it on this thread to the point that mostly the ending were things discussed over the season and so very few real surprises. Hated to see Chelsea die. Overall, I thought it was great and kept my interest up throughout the season all the way to the ending. I looked forward to it every week. Unfortunately no one I personally know was watching it so surly was the only place I had for discussion and it did not disappoint.

It was pretty funny that Gaitok and Mook were all smiles and positive vibes hours after five people left their hotel in a bodybag.

This show has never really been about the mystery or whodunit. So I can't say I'm all that disappointed. Maybe a little. I didn't mind the darker, moodier tone. I may be a victim of recency bias but the cast as a whole seemed like the strongest. Jennifer Coolidge was addition by subtraction. Carrie Coon's monologue might have been the best scene in the series.

I'm happy for Mike White and impressed he's been able to crank out three solid seasons. Been a fan of his since I saw Chuck and Buck at The Angelika in downtown Houston. This show kinda came out of nowhere and it's kind of amazing that it's become somewhat of a pop culture phenomenon.

My thai food prediction was correct btw. I went to get our pickup order and was elbow to elbow with delivery drivers crammed into the front of the place. Order was 30min late. At one point this poor server had like 25 tickets spread across the hostess stand. Reminded me of that scene from The Bear.

the "big twist" was that scott glenn was actually rick's dad, which was a twist that most everyone saw coming. there weren't really any other twists. after the delay getting the phones back, i kept waiting for everyone to die (except lochlan) and then for him to find out that the legal shit went away. why else wait until the boat to get them back?

i understand that this is how white lotus works, and i'm sure it'll be the same in s4, but the "shocking incident + 7 days earlier card" only worked well in the first one (coffin being loaded onto a plane). this would've been a better season if you had no idea what would happen at the end. just tell your shit on a linear timeline. nothing about that opening scene ever takes someone on the fence and gets them invested.

After the ladyboy monologue, I was riveted. The episodes seemed to fly by. Deep characters. Great writing and directing and classic moments throughout.

That Chelsea got whacked was sad but thats the breaks. Do you need Grandpa from The Princess Bride to stop the story?

Yeah weakest ending of the 3 so far. I loved individual characters. Parker is so damn talented. She was so proud of her coddled daughter. I think Loch should have died. I hate when shows do that jk! death. I guess no one cared he looked like death and basically died. Ok let’s head home!

the Russians just move onto their next heist/women? $5 million deposited into an account? Yeah she’s getting a visit from the feds. Eh I give the overall season a 7/10, finale a 6/10

The scene with Carrie Coon's speech had me tearing up; as a 40-something woman myself I found it very touching and relatable. Their storyline was the best developed (of this season) and the resolution made the most sense to me.

Belinda's going to have to learn how to launder money real quick. That spa she talked about opening with Pornchai could've helped.

Did it not occur to Lochlan to clean out the blender before making something in it? I realize that no one in that family has probably ever cleaned anything themselves, but you still wouldn't want to leave gunk on the bottom before making a fresh smoothie, right?

I loled at Piper's "the food was vegetarian but I could tell it wasn't organic" and Victoria's facial expressions during the entire speech.

I was disappointed how Belinda turned out. But it was in line with the overall theme.

You know her son is gonna turn up in season 4, blowing all her money

I thought that might have been the original plan (at least the legal portion of it), and it was edited out. The way that scene ended with them staring at their phones seemed strange.

he deserved to live after his hero dad raced over to him and started performing cpr like a champ until he dramatically came back to life.

or he just held him and pouted until he somehow woke up on his own. i like jason isaacs a lot but very disappointed with how they handled his character most of the season.

Maybe Sam Rockwell should have been cast as the dad, reprising his performance as the (fake) drugged Wild Bill in Green Mile.

The dads stupor could have been used as comic relief a bit better. But he definitely showcased unwise decision-making, which made sense.

Lachlan not cleaning the blender was disgusting but on-brand given teenager give a shit about blender hygiene.

And the dad also not cleaning up or washing away the evidence, because he was too drugged out to remember that his oldest son usually makes a protein shake in the morning.

It feels like his character started out really strong and instantly devolved into a boring, addled, shuffling, mumbling mess about 1/3 way through and never recovered
