$400MM of tax payer money spent on an election that’s called 12 minutes after polls close.

Tomorrow there will be zero stories on the fiscal irresponsibility of the Republican Party for this.

Privatized temper tantrums. Socialized costs. The GQP is the most socialist major party in American history, and it ain’t even close.

Over 5M votes for "No" out of an anticipated <9M cast--this is an ass-kicking.

I think 9.7m might be around the final number. Still an ass kicking. Only like 100k votes in-person in OC today.  The GOP has hastened its death in OC and the few GOP House members who rode Trump’s coattails around OC (Steele, Kim, Garcia) are shitting themselves tonight.

Start gathering signatures for the ballot measure to eliminate recall elections now, please.

Both the CA House and Senate chairs of the respective committees will start on legislation tomorrow, as tweeted by one of them

Cool, but if I'm not mistaken, a ballot measure amends the state constitution which is a more permanent solution than legislation.

a few months ago this might've been interesting, but the combination of a date getting announced, a clown rising to the top (or just having an opponent period) and the impressive dem ground game made it a laugher.  i got 6 texts today and about 50 over the past week or so.  so much so that i stopped giving normal answers and started giving funny ones.

i am fucking hilarious.

Don’t think it’ll be eliminated but heavily changed

Fucking ridiculous. What a waste of money from a party that doesn't want to do anything or take responsibility for governing.

I’ve been calling for this since  the Gray Davis recall.

Never would have happened if that judge hadn’t given them 4 extra months to collect signatures

Between this and Greg Locke getting the permaban from Twitter, its a great day to remind the GOP what a bunch of fucktards they are.

The ridiculously large margin is proof of nefarious chicanery and underhanded misdeeds!  I have a statistician that can prove that there’s no possible way those vote totals could have happened!

Isn’t it obvious to everyone that 4 million people from Tijuana illegally crossed the border, voted for Newsom and then went back to Mexico.  You people just can’t see what is right in front of your face.

And most of them have active cases of covid for which they got treated at American hospitals and took up all the beds this week.

More like illegals in the Valley. From 538...

In his three statewide races, Newsom has never won Fresno County, but with 59 percent of the estimated vote in, the recall there is failing by 7 percentage points.

This is pretty much a rhetorical question, but will this result start to scare the GQP or GOP into distancing from trumpian rhetoric as a losing play, finally?

I know, they’ll just chalk it up to loony liberal California.

Fucking ouch. Even at 60/40, they coming have talked themselves into "We got 40% in Commiefornia! The resistance is growing!"

Just like Georgia, this is a pretty big repudiation of anyone with the Trump stench on them.

You hate to see it.

And in addition to the 69 percent support for the school mask mandate, 63 percent say they see getting vaccinated as more of a public-health responsibility than a personal choice.

I wish I lived somewhere with this kind of thinking.  Actually wish those percentages were close to 100%, but it's better than the freedumbs brigade down here.

NPR had him on last week. Said they should keep recall but remove question 1. Should be the sitting gov vs the field in the recall election

Leave it to CNN's worst commentator, Chris Cillizza, chalking up last night as a "win" for Elder because he got ~47% of the vote on question 2 - almost 50% of voters skipped question 2 entirely.  Which was the entire Dem strategy - vote no and skip question 2.

If there was any doubt that the Dems suffered due to lack of GOTV in 2020, it’s gone now.  I’d be deeply concerned if I were the GOP to remaining hitched to Trump.

There's no one left in the GQP sane enough to care. This is just another opportunity to grift...errr fundraise by telling the rubes they need MOAR money to fight the evil, socialist lib homo agenda.
