Songs that hit you or someone you love in the feels

Sounded too sick to go to church this morning.  But this'll do for my spiritual lift.  I swore I saw Nathaniel Rateliff the other day walking around town.  I guess it probably was him.  A tribute to John Prine.  I don't know who the one emo kid is, but the rest of this ensemble absolutely nails it.  If there's a heaven, John Prine is in it.  And this song got me right in the feels.  From his ACL Hall of Fame tribute show last week:

Beautiful song about an absolutely horrifying subject.

Cartel killing in Mexico told from the point of view of a woman/wife/mother that's about to be killed along with the rest of her family.

Jerry Joseph is one of my favorite song writers that probably only a handful of y'all have heard of.

He visually transports you to that villa that day.  It's something else.

Man... this song.  I was mesing around on the piano and this melody came back to me.  I remember playing the hell out of Diva, especially this song.  I can't even remember what exacly was going on in my life ( trying to finish my degree after way to much messing around).

My wife died of a rare, virulent cancer in January of 2021. It happened so fast, and I’m still a wreck.

This Moody Blues song says what I feel every day - “Cause you’re not here.”

I don’t know why I’m even telling this to a bunch of strangers, but, there it is.

“Forever Autumn”

Today is four years that she’s been gone. So tonight, as I have done each year, I’m having a few drinks, getting in my feels, and reminiscing about the finest woman I ever knew.
