Longhorn foundation has a “reception” set up for 4pm on arky campus. But I’d rather just tailgate with you degenerates

Probably a good call. That reception might get napalm bombed by the local gentry.

Surly has consistently overhyped Arkansas as an opponent. The cognitive dissonance of expecting to whip a better ULL team while looking at Arkansas as a huge obstacle is really something.

Yes, it will be loud and hostile. It’s loud and hostile every road game. All of the history can’t change that Arkansas is garbage. PK is going to embarrass little Briles and Texas is going to win comfortably. If Texas loses, they’re garbage too.

I’m not sure you can definitively say ULL is better. Sure they went 10-1 and had a great win over Iowa State but also won most Sun Belt games by 7-10 points including 2 points over Georgia Southern and OT against Georgia State. Arkansas wasn’t a great SEC team last year but still won 3 SEC games, probably would have fared much better in most of those games than ULL did against their schedule.

That said it won’t matter if Arkansas shoots itself in the foot with drops and penalties again like that dreadful first half against Rice. Lots of P5 teams seemed to struggle yesterday, not sure if it was just being vanilla or what.

How are your lines? I'd say our biggest question mark coming out of yesterday was on the offensive line. Dline was better, but not world beating.

Louisiana has great experience, if not great talent, on the lines so that accounts for something. I'd expect with Pittman that you're oline should be at least well-coached, but how is your dline?

Card is young so I'd imagine the more pressure you can generate the more in question things will become. I saw enough yesterday to know that if we have time to operate we should be fine, but if we don't hold up as well it could get interesting.

They're probably roughly equivalent and this one is on the road. That 4-1/2 opening line was dumb, Texas should be somewhere around a 10-13 point favorite.

Still, I'd be a lot more hesitant to say for certain that Texas covers than I was this week.

OL was horrible at pass blocking last year and not much better against Rice, but Jefferson was able to make plays a lot with his legs (and just being 250 lbs to break out of sacks) to negate it a bit. They were pretty solid at run blocking though.
I was pleased with how the DL played, held Rice to 2 YPC and even though there weren’t any sacks there were several pressures that led to interceptions. We started two transfers on the DL and our NT was out who should be back. So it’s still too early to tell honestly. Our pass rush was awful last year and we played a 3-2-6 a lot which we couldn’t do against Rice due to their style of offense being more smashmouth.
Card is 100x better than the Rice QB but also still pretty young so I could see Odom trying some different coverages but the main priority has to be selling out to stop Robinson so we may run the 4-man front the majority of the time again.
Thanks. We struggled more on both lines than I expected, so interested in seeing how we handle you guys. I forgot that Odom is your DC now. A lot of us wanted him when sark was hired (although I'm completely happy with PK). Look forward to seeing him and Sark duel on play calling.

Arkansas football fans seem to be getting more capable of reasonable discussion if the 14 in your username and my memories of previous interactions in the early 2000s and being near them in the '80s as a child are at all accurate.

Pig was down 17-7 to Rice going into the 4th quarter

No nope. Pig was down to Chinaman's ass 7-17 in the 3rd quarter. By the time the 4th quarter hit the score was tied.

Going through the worst decade in our history after finishing #5 in the country and subsequently firing the coach after a motorcycle ride has humbled us all haha.

We’re more apathetic about football right now than ever while season ticket sales to basketball and baseball are breaking records. Never would have thought our football program would reach Vandy levels in my lifetime but after the Morris era it’s hard to be optimistic.

WE better be ready. The pigs will play their best game of the year. They have had this game circled since the day it was scheduled.

Including when they pushed it back from 2009 since we would have absolutely beaten the shit out of them.

Guess what, we have circled ALL our games!.... With RED SHARPIES!  Some even have trapezoids AND parallelograms around them!!!

Sark's got this shit figured out....he is waaaaay ahead of you.

Y’all realize the setting for “Deliverance” is Georgia? Doesn’t change much with regard to Arkansas, but just saying.

DVH is Arkansas through and through, having played in the SWC I’m sure he feels a certain way about Texas. But then again Muschamp coached at Florida as a Georgia grad which is weird to me too.

He actually just got a statue named after him outside our new baseball performance center - “The Van Horn Hog”
