I listened to him like 10 times like that. Tried to like him but didn’t understand or get it, then bam it happened. He’s good he’s talented and from what I’ve read/seen seems like a good dude that likes to party and drink bud light

What about laying pipe?

I don't get any new popular music at all, including this.  It sounds like auto tune rapping.  I'm also starting to hate how anything new on the SiriusXM "alt" stations basically sounds like electronica versions of 90's pop punk.  All of this shit is just terrible to me, but I also recognize that I'm 36 and officially too old to be tuned into what the kids are into.

I liked Austin a lot which was a little more pop/rock forward but yeah - didn't feel like I needed him going full country.

He's a very talented guy that hits a lot and misses a lot. Good for him for doing what he wants I guess and not being constrained by any of his earlier stuff. Doesn't mean I'm going to listen to it.

Anyone listed to F1 Trillion (Long Bed)?

I did last week. Garbage.

Yeah.. it's only the top album in the country.  It may not be high art, but it's a solid effort with some well-constructed songs that appeals to a lot of people, obviously.  "Never Love You Again", "Nosedive", and "Losers" are all good to great tracks.

I don't follow the charts nor care about it. Terrible music is at the top of charts in all genres. He loaded the album with tons of country artists and he already has a big following so no surprise it's doing well. But it's garbage for me.

I have enjoyed it.

I like his songs they're playing on the country stations. They're catchy, but man ... They're not country. I don't care that Blake Shelton's singing. That actually might not be an argument supporting the country label.

I’ve yet to hear a single Post Malone song - in any genre - that is in any way interesting to me. And that’s fine.

Damn. For real?

Over 200 songs and none scratch your taste ?

Not even the one with ozzy?

I'm not going to listen to 200 songs by anybody to determine if I like them.  they maybe get 3 chances if they're lucky

That's fair.

If I had to recommend three songs to someone I had no idea what music they like.

Leave

Waiting For Never

Hold My Breathe.

none of them mainstream, and maybe all my choices no body would agree with.. lol.

And that’s fair. I know that if I don’t like an artist and I see a thread about them on the shag, I’m sure to contribute my indifference to them so that everyone knows where I stand on this one particular artist.

I would say there are a few songs of his that I know of that I won't change the station if they come on, but at the same time I don't know that I would spend money on concert tickets to see him.  He does seem like a decent guy and not an asshole like so many other artists.  My point was more towards kingkoopa in that I wouldn't listen to 200 songs of anybody to determine if I like them or not, and yes I realize he was probably being hyperbolic.

You don't have $1,400 burning a hole in your pocket?

By all accounts he is a cool - down-to-earth motherfucker and he's a legit Texan - whether anyone likes his music or not. Anyone that hates Post Malone is trying too hard in my book.

I'm a big fan but part of that is because I think he's a solid dude. His career music-wise is hit or miss for me. I didn't really enjoy the country-album experiment. The album he released before that I really dug.

If I had to convince someone to like him I'd start with stuff like this (oh - that's another thing - he's a more than decent guitar player):

I appreciate stuff like this. Al4ISU does it too. “You may or may not like my person’s music, but give these three random-ass songs a listen before you seal the deal.”

I just discovered this guy. Not really my type of music, but he has some good songs and he's really talented.

Here's a Nirvana tribute he did last year during the shutdown to raise money for the WHO.

His original stuff doesn’t really hit with me but if he wrote some originals in this vein, I’d be down. He’s got a great gritty voice but the stuff I listened to upthread downplay this and feel over-produced.
