it's always amazed me that Americans and their penchant for curiosity...never extends to how drugs move through/within the country.  The stories of how they're smuggled into our borders (air, sea, land, underground even, etc.).  That's all hashed out in the media over and over again.  But nobody ever wonders, "Well okay, so the drugs are in our borders now...how do they get to the regional distributors from Boston to Pittsburgh to Memphis to Milwaukee to Kansas City to Phoenix to Portland?"   Nobody ever stops to wonder about that.  What a weird disconnect.  Americans know drugs are smuggled in large quantities from the South.  Americans know that people buy drugs in small quantities from local connections who are physically near them.  But there's this vast ether in the middle that nobody ever talks about.

Law Enforcement and Trucking move narcotics around this country for a handsome surcharge.  I've never understood how people don't get this.  The shipment across the border doesn't just keep driving until it hits Omaha.  It's broken down and sent in 10 directions under the protection of police and long-haul trucks.
