Tennessee resident, so I can speak to this.  Around here, UT almost always refers to the university, athletic teams are referred to as the Vols.  No need for quotation marks or apostrophe's.  But the pronunciation is closer to "Vawls," and is almost two syllables.

VUuls is the redneck version

V is light the U is heavy emphasis gotta lightly draw out the L. VoouLs closer to vowels when your hammered drunk.

Knox vUULl

CookvUULl

And of course Lebnun spelled Lebanon

And yes UT is a University, not a sports team. Similar to Texas you put the city after it only when it's not Knoxvuul.

So far as Tennessee, the people I know from there have always called them the “Vol’s”. I don’t believe I have ever heard anyone call themselves “UT”? I’m sure there are some, but “how bout them Vol’s” is pretty much the standard response when they win one.

Why the fuck would you call them Vol's?

She's a hot 19 year old Texan and disgraced Tenn. cheerleader who's on OF now. She belongs everywhere.

Preferably in my bedroom, a man can dream.

I'll be in my bunk figuring out a plan to make that happen.

Whoosh!

There is no whoosh. You’re lazy and unoriginal as surlygator already corrected my error in a previous post.

Does it say what she did to get kicked off the squad?

Seems like offering public "BDSM and anal play" could violate some kind of university cheerleader morals clause (which I'm against of course. all for the slutty girls).

They have a WR named Squirrel? That is incredible.  Maybe in 10 years or so they can have an alumni game and get Jim Bob Cooter to throw to him.

Some of those hillbillies will see Squirrel on the roster and think it's a menu.

These four players played for my Dad, at DeSoto(TX) HS, in the early 80s. L-R they are:
Prior, Hendrix, Hunt, and Hale.

As a youngster, I loved watching the Jefferson Pilot game each Saturday AM, as Tennessee usually was on (TBS) home or on the road.

Still have a soft spot in my heart for “cream sickle” orange.

Hook’em!!!

for obvious reasons, not one of those mother fuckers went to DeSoto

Vols is already pretty much phonetically spelled. We got it...

Kent State really is probably the actual worst team in FBS this year. 135 of 135. Should be a really, really grim outcome.

Great poll question:  "What percentage of blOU fans would trade Venables for Heupel straight up as their head coach?

Why Oklahoma REALLY fired Josh Heupel w/ OU reporter John Hoover

I cant believe that bunch of chickenshit bush leaguers has not been called out....

last week with a 30 -0 lead, they executed an onside kick....up by 38 with 3 min to go they kick a field goal against NC State....up by 50 with less than 2 min to go they run a punt block against Chattanooga...

Heupel must be a real POS

If you are going to pay these teams 7 figures, you can run whatever plays you want at any time.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

He learned at the feet of Bob Stoops.  Does this surprise you?

It’s not his job to stop his own team but, as I understand it, this was a call made by the kicker based on formation.

Tennessee offered shortened quarters for the second half and Kent State declined. Tip of the hat to Kent State for that.

Tennessee allows the kicker to audible an on side kick? That’s…?…?…?…bold…

Would Kent State have given some of the money back if they did?  These games are for looking for players and what works or doesnt work.

I could have been reading incorrect information, though I don’t think kickers and punters being able to do such things based on predetermined formations is that unusual.

Either way, it’s not the kicking team’s responsibility to conform to expectations.

It's not about Kent State. Nor is it all about money, in my view. But even if you believe that, it's still dumb for the Tennessee brand if they have a reputation for being dickwads to smaller programs.

These games are essentially scrimmages with the potential for an occasional upset. Should we have stopped scoring at 49 points? Both sides have the opportunity to get valuable reps to their players and try different plays against an opponent that isn't themselves in practice. The players aren't toddlers and this isn't tee ball.

Agree for the most part. But there is a line. Class sells. Just ask the biggest brand in college sports.
