Agreed but part of me doesn't include Penn State. The deep navy is just so boring.

Love the navy blue, but hate Penn State.

I love the simpler West Virginia uniforms and Virginia, too. The Navy looks great.

WVU is a team and fan base that I miss moving to the SEC. Morgantown is probably the 2nd most populous town in WV on game day in the Fall. Just a beautiful state to spend a week/trip in.

Just don’t want to be the WVU opponent and hear John Denver as you exit the field.

I witnessed that in person on Texas' last trip to Morgantown. Wasn't happy about losing the game, but what a great college football tradition. One of my all-time favorite memories.

I’ll say another and don’t hate/shame me, but a classic helmet that’s held up for decades is Arky. They made it and said the Razorback is it! Woo Pig, or whatever they say. Rarely have they changed their uniforms, which I admire.

Me and a buddy with “deeper pockets” were at the same game and ended our trip playing golf at the Greenbrier. Awesome trip for a lifetime.

There is nothing great or iconic about Penn state. It’s just default

If we're talking top 10, Carolina blue is in there.

The only reason Penn State looks “classic” is that they have practice uniforms on gameday. Classic and I understand Joe Pa’s thinking of “blue collar,” but plain as plain can get.

So all of this is because of God instead of his greedy stupid father. Been a rough year for Los Angelos and I hope UCLA football has a good year despite this guy. Sports can be a refuge to forget about things for a while.

Neuheisel was just making a point on Full Ride that I thought was poignant.  We criticize kids like Nico for being a mercenary.  But 70% of the transfers are the schools recruiting a player who they think is better than the player they have, essentially telling them to either take a back seat or transfer.  These kids are often forced into the portal.  Certainly not in Nico’s situation, but it definitely works both ways.

That dude sucks. They made the playoffs in spite of him.

He's also dumb as shit.  Making way less money (especially after taxes) to go play in a shittier offense in a shittier conference.  We could say, at least UCLA is a better school but we all know he didn't come here to play school.  GG.

He overplayed his hand, most likely upon advice from his immediate circle of advisors/ Dad/ Uncle.  This is after the alleged bullshit he pulled late last season with Tennessee.  I'm all about the players getting what they can get, but you don't get to play the sympathy card either.  STFU.  That's what the money is for.

Neuheisel’s full of shit on the one. Most guys entering the portal think they can make more elsewhere or are just doing what players have done for over a century - trying to find a sweeter depth chart for PT.

Guys have been trapdoored for forever and a day. Guys haven’t been constantly asking for raises or putting a gun to the head of a program for more money each semester for over a century. That shit is new, it is built for mercenary exploitation and the players and their camps are the cause of it.

To build on this and to remind from further up thread - we discussed this guy contemporaneously during his recruitment as a fucking mercenary that most programs wanted no part of once they dug into to his details. He checked all kinds of red flags - multiple HS’s, talked about money first, had a helicopter dad, didn’t make multiple progressions on film, known as a “me first” guy in recruiting circles.

The dude is not a “kid”. He’ll play as a 21 year old this year. He was directly involved with this whole debacle. He thinks he’s way fucking better than he is. He’s as likely to be a flame-out cancer in the locker room at UCLA as he is a productive starter. He’s not a victim.

I’m going to enjoy actively cheering for him to flop at UCLA.

Yep.  People are thinking he's "young" because he's a sophomore.  He will be 21 by game 1.  He played in a very simple and QB friendly system last year.  And he was not good.  If he had been ranked a 3 star in high school, no one would think twice about him.  I cannot imagine he will be very good at UCLA.  But who knows.  Bo Nix was just awful for several years and then transferred and became very good in that system.

If I was getting a transfer portal QB (and really for any position), I would be looking more for someone who was good in college than a highly ranked recruit who was average in college.  Same reason I would have not given any NIL money to David Stone.

There is a less than zero percent chance he puts up better numbers than Nico.  Would be embarrassing for everyone but Tenn if that happens.  He has to cut down on pics.  But he seems to me to be in a better position to make plays than Nico.  Nico barely made any plays in the games I watched.  He looked like warmed over dogshit despite playing in a simple system that is QB friendly.

I am of the belief that Nico will be better next season.  A lot of RS freshmen don’t look great.

Maybe. But he will be 21 when season starts.  He should be a senior.  Or RS junior.  I just wasn’t impressed.  Usually a qb that’s young will make mistakes and make some plays.  He did not make plays.  He was bad.

Your first year OC isn‘t going to help things at all. Nico will be patting the ball 7 times and then running for his life when not overthrowing it. Then his dad will become a pain in the ass around late October.

Now his younger brother Maddon, who was committed to UCLA until a signing day flip to Arkansas.  Not as highly rated as Nico, still a solid prospect.  A little leery of getting this deep in bed with the Iamaleava family.

if its any consolation, they will probably both have moved onto another school by December.

Don't forget little brother backup.  Not even the Ball family had that kind of stranglehold on the Bruins.
