If I was Minnesota, I would trade KAT. He isn’t a winner.  They could get some real assets in return for him and potentially do something in the coming years.

Bump...

Probably better for the playoff thread, no?

Lol at "no idea what will happen". Shoot me a pm Brandon I'll lay it out for you with like 70% certainty.

Probably not a great testimony to how closely I've followed the NBA this season that I had absolutely no idea who Scottie Barnes is or which team he plays for before today.

Didn’t we see their respective stature in the Olympics a few months ago?

KD is having a bad playoffs, for sure, but the Nets are showing themselves to be what you would expect a team relying on Patty Mills, Bruce Brown and Nic Claxton for starter minutes to be. Boston is a solid team with players in roles matching their abilities. The Nets are a mess with only ever one answer- hope KD and/or Kyrie goes off.

(Also, if Tatum really were supplanting Durant, you’d think Pierce would know how to spell his first name).

Not so sure it’ll be that easy for Phoenix to just win by 25. Making up for bookers productivity with 37 year old CP3 and some 3 and D’ers isn’t exactly fool proof. Nola has young bodies to throw at cp3 all game in Alvarado and jones. Both showed they werent intimidated by him at least last night. Paul would have to play like game 3 Paul if they’re gonna win easily.

Phoenix is done unless Booker can come back earlier than expected. Tatum is not supplanting Durant. He's outplaying him in this series for sure, but it's hard to ignore the context. Boston is a much better team top to bottom than the Nets right now. Defense has been a struggle for the Nets but the big thing for them has been giving away 3-5 unforced turnovers every game. Like when KD thought Kyrie was going to slip the screen instead of popping to the corner last game. That just can't happen if they wanted to have any chance. The Nets have one more season to get it right next year before the window starts to close.

25 was an exaggeration, obviously, but that's a tough spot for a young team coming off a huge win against what has been the best team in basketball for months now. You probably have more faith in rookies playing on the road in their first truly high stakes playoff game than I do. Likewise, the Phoenix role players will be better at home. I don't think the Suns shoot 7-27 from three in Phoenix nor do I think the Pels are going to go the line 42 times compared to the Suns 15. And CP3 won't have to be as good as game 3, but probably better than his 2-8 four point performance last night. I'm all for NOLA to take them down and they for sure have a great opportunity with Booker out, but they still have a tough hill to climb.

Didn't realize that Kyrie has a player option after this season.  That'll be interesting how that plays out.  He'll want a huge extension from Brooklyn and they're stupid if they do that.  Sign and trade then?  Let him walk?  They're stuck with Simmons and his deal and KD as well.  If they can get FA's then that might work but that's doubtful without much cap space.

I'd trade him (for who knows what) and get 2-4 pieces back, hopefully some shooters.  They're going to need to work around Simmons being a black hole on offense and understand he might not play half the games.

Oh so this is the thread now? Jesus guys. (for the record - I would have just let this thread ride - I don't understand why we need a "playoffs" thread)

George Karl and Bill Musselman also coached here, several other recognizable NBA players have also played here and damn if Atlantic City Gambits has a player from St Peter’s.  Glad I burned all of my UK gear.

How did this trade go through with a back that needs surgery? How did they not find this out during a physical? That's pretty crazy honestly. Seems like someone on the Nets medical staff should be fired.

Things change over time with backs. And "needing" surgery is not as black and white as you might assume. Highly trained specialists can disagree on that point all the time. Neither side is wrong they just prioritize different aspects in the decision making process. And let's not rule out Simmons having a sham surgery just to avoid working for a living.

Sounds like possibly ex bf of current gf. Tragic. Honestly his entire career is kind of tragic. Accused of an assault he didn't commit, got piled on during the whole Nassar/MSU/ESPN OTL fiasco, and got dumped by the Magic. Not good enough to take a pr hit for. Was making a living overseas and had to come home because his 4 year old son was having brain surgery. And now murdered at the age of 31. RIP AP.

So when you get banned from an NBA arena, do you get one of those trespassing notices like a shoplifter?

That idiot Kamala on NBA radio was talking about banning the Dallas clown for life. How the hell does even work? Outside of the Paul's who is going to remember what this dude looks like in a few years? And let's say he goes to a game in Minny..you really think the ticket takers/ushers make enough money to keep up with that stuff? I swear some mitches love to virtue signal more than use common sense.

Let's definitely not. He needs to go away. Pause. Until he's right I mean, because of stuff.  Until then get the fuck out of the news. No one cares.

I think part of it is also like a formal strike / warning. Yes he can likely get in to a game either at Dallas or somewhere else, but if he's caught then he is formally trespassing and can have charges brought to him (no lawyer).

"The elder Dority, who remained in his car, told police his son approached the car’s driver’s side and began “talking close together” with Payne at the vehicle. According to the affidavit, the father said he felt Lawrence Dority “appeared to be intimidated based on the size difference and (his son’s) stance.”

Payne was 6-foot-10 and 244 pounds; Dority’s court file lists him as 5-8, 150."

I can understand being intimidated. But how do you go in your house, get a gun and still claim you were intimidated. Stay your ass in the house and call the cops.

And Mitch is absolutely right. If your gf/wife tries to drag you to another man's house for domestic shit, leave that dumbass bitch.
