Aw fuck that. I watched him juggle chainsaws on Fisherman's Wharf in SF when I was in boot. He was gold in everything he did.

RIP Hilde.

Damn.  RIP.  Loved Bosom Buddies.  That's one of those shows that I'm wondering how many multiples I saw all the way through via re-runs over the years.

Little known fact... Scolari was the actor who did the motion capture for Billy in The Polar Express.  And if you don't watch Polar Express every Christmas... I am genuinely sorry that you have no soul.

Hanks also used him in a small role in That Thing You Do:

That was a great intro made even better by Mancini’s theme song. Brings back memories. Makes me want to be there. And of course “not to mention all the animals you could blow” is probably the reason it was PG. 😊

RIP Peter!

Greatest tv theme ever.

On the exact opposite end of the spectrum, this was quite jarring when we watched the show on dvd with our kids: for the DVD and apparently during certain runs of syndication, they lost the rights to use the Billy Joel-esque cover song (many don’t know it wasn’t him singing). Instead they used this song:

Fun fact: it is actually the same song they used at the end of each episode only with lyrics.

Had no idea that wasn't Billy's vocals on the original theme song. #themoreyouknow

And that obviously isn't Mills' best work. We all know the answer:

He was just one of those familiar faces growing up.  He’d pop up in all kinds of shows.  And he always had great hair.  Rest well, sir.

Peter Scolari "Newhart" talk bringing back young Deej memories of Mary Frann and her sweaters.

It should remind you of Donna Dixon in Bosom Buddies. She married Dan Aykroyd. She was also really hot in The Couch Trip. (And, I’m sure, whatever else she was in.)
