looking at some videos and pics he crashed at Rainbow and Spring Valley......Spring Valley is the circle street in this screen capture so he crashed at one of the two intersections circled
that is pretty much in the heart of residential Vegas west of The Strip

Rainbow is a big street, I think three lanes each way with a median, and yeah nothing but houses out there.

Quote

At least three bystanders stopped to help.

Among them was Alexander Hart, a security guard for a nearby condominium community, according to the report. After hearing the crash, he got into his security vehicle and drove to the scene.

When he arrived, the report states, he heard screams coming from the Toyota. The driver was still alive, he told police.

But he couldn’t pull her out, he said, because she was pinned inside the SUV.

The Toyota “was soon overcome with smoke and heat from flames,” and Hart had to back away, according to the report. Tintor’s dog, who was in the back seat, also died.

This asshole shouldn't even sniff parole until he's an old man.

as shit of a topic as this is, i also hate the need to include ruggs' stats in the espn piece.

who fucking cares if he had xx catches for xxx yards on xx plays, and was drafted at xx position from xx university.

after this shit happens, football is irrelevant. fuck off with your stats and all that bullshit, it's ridiculous.

It’s the NFL. I wouldn’t count him out of the league just yet. Now if he had taunted the dead body after collision, then maybe.

Seriously. He'll be on a team as soon as he's out of jail. All he did was kill a woman and her dog; it's not like he called someone a homophobic slur.

How the fuck does someone walk after 18 shots

BAC would also be significantly higher.  .16 is drunk,  but not falling down, passing out drunk.

Not minimizing what he did in any way whatsoever, but a couple of things. 18 drinks is known, but over how long a period of time?

In the other direction, that .16 is the toxicology report, how long between the accident and the blood draw?

he may have ordered 18 shots for his group, but there is no way he personally consumed 18 shots.  he's 190 pounds.  dude couldn't walk after that, and his BAC would be much higher.

edit in light of Huck's post:  if he had been there for 6 hours and had 3 shots per hour, then it could be doable.  but damn, that's a long ass time to be there.

i'm still curious abot how long he was at TopGolf.  website says it closes at midnight, but they will stay open longer for celebrities.

And what did he eat before/between.  He could have been at TG from 9-12.  Had a sammich, then went somewhere else and had shots.  Then grabbed some other grub.

He seriously could have been at peak intox at .16 or had come down from .24 in that time period.  All depends on what was in his stomach.  A couple sammiches in his stomach would have slowed his absorption rate.  An empty stomach means he was near .25 at the point of the crash.  Lot's of science.

In Texas, that server and manager of Top Golf would be in jail right now and TG would be a second defendant in the lawsuit.   Not sure how it works in Nevada, just assuming things aren't as stringent in Sin City.

Las Vegas would immediately cease to exist under this level of liability.

Holy shit.  How did he survive?

What a senseless and horrifying way to die for the victims.  Just awful, and he needs to get zero leniency.

He survived because the new Corvette's are built exactly like a Ferrari.  That Rav4 caught on fire because he ran up underneath it and punctured the gas tank (almost certainly) and no one was able to get to the victim because the car was a fucking pier by the time everything came to a halt.

you are correct.

NRS 41.1305  Liability of person who serves, sells or furnishes alcoholic beverages for damages caused as a result of consumption of alcoholic beverage: No liability if person served is 21 years of age or older; liability in certain circumstances if person served is under 21 years of age; exception to liability; damages, attorney’s fees and costs.

      1.  A person who serves, sells or otherwise furnishes an alcoholic beverage to another person who is 21 years of age or older is not liable in a civil action for any damages caused by the person to whom the alcoholic beverage was served, sold or furnished as a result of the consumption of the alcoholic beverage.

they were actually pulling a guy out of a flaming car after that guy (also plastered drunk) crashed when he clipped the back of a semi trailer
that was part of the goodrich defense that the flames and chaos from the first wreck got in the way of him knowing where to drive

Ah yeah that’s right, remember he was helping someone

Guy I knew blew a .46 at Brackenridge after the paramedics shoveled him out of the gutter on 6th street when we were freshmen in 1986. So there’s data point for you.

I don't see how there can still be laws that say otherwise in the age of uber.

This man will need mental health care for quite a while. I cannot imagine the sound he heard

he blew a .16 two hours after the crash. he did not personally consume 18 shots. that takes nothing away from the horrifying outcome of his decision to drive drunk, but i doubt he would have been been able to find his car after 18 shots.

Like I said, it all depends on if/when he ate.  He could have been a lower BAC when he left because he had eaten.  Protein consumption slows absorption rates.  If he ate nothing, he was higher at point of crash.  Not that any of it matters because he was well over either way, but you can’t assume without knowing food consumption.

156 mph, I know intoxicated drivers often have a way of not being seriously injured in these bad wrecks but holy shit.

Well apparently he was doing 127 at the time of crash and rear ended someone going ~50 which would make it effectively 77 mph.

Had he hit anything substantial doing 156 I doubt he's alive.

Anyone doing 156 in a residential area who kills someone should get the death penalty regardless of whether they have any intoxicant in their system…

He’s in Vegas.  It’s not like he lacks options for places to push his car to the limits without other humans around.  First time I went to Vegas many years ago everyone in our group won big on the first night at the same craps table.  Next afternoon we rented 6 exotics by the hour and drove them straight out into the desert, pulled over every 10 minutes and swapped cars, so everyone got to drive every car.
