I still to this day cant figure out why earl trucking that guy from the 4 yard line to the endzone in 77 or 78 is better quality than the vasher hit on the tech kid.

Foster interview with Suchomel

Katy Taylor offensive lineman Bryce Foster is one of the top prospects in the country for the 2021 class. A Rivals100 member, Foster has a long list of scholarships and he’s keeping an open mind at this early stage of the recruiting process.

One of the schools that is in hot pursuit is the Texas Longhorns, and Texas is a school Foster is strongly considering.

“Definitely it’s in the upper portion,” Foster said. “I haven’t really tried to break down my schools yet like a top 10 or whatever. I’m not new to the process but I’m slowly getting into it. I’m starting to look into the education portion, see what I want to do, see what colleges have my major.”

Foster hasn’t locked in on a subject to study in college, but is considering kinesiology. Whatever subject he eventually decides to focus on, the academic reputation of his prospective colleges in that field will have an impact.

Texas offensive line coach Herb Hand has been recruiting Foster for a couple years, going back to Hand’s time at Auburn.

“They’re definitely close to home. That’s up there. And also coach Hand. He’s recruited me since like the eighth grade. When he was at Auburn, he was the one who offered me there,” Foster said. “It was a pretty cool deal seeing him be able to move to Texas. That was good news and I’m able to see him more often. He’s definitely one of my favorite o-line coaches in the country right now.

“He’s a really smart dude when it comes down to Xs and Os but he’s a really personable guy, a really good family guy.”

Stanford is another school that figures to be a strong factor in Foster’s recruitment. Foster visited the Stanford program in April and said it was a good experience overall.

“It was really fun. They’re really big on the education part, which I like a lot,” Foster said. “It was great getting to talk to coach (Kevin) Carberry a little bit. I haven’t got to talk to the head coach yet, had a thorough talk with him. But I’ve said hi to him and he seems like a good guy.”

The 6-4, 295-pound Foster doesn’t have a formal list of favorites, but said he’ll probably put something out after his junior season in 2019. He’s also a standout thrower in track and field and hopes to compete in two sports in college.

“I do want to do both. I know Arkansas is a good program. I know LSU does. I’m looking at straight throwing coaches,” Foster said. “UCLA has a really good throwing coach there as well from what I’ve heard.”

Texas throwing coach Zeb Sion is someone with whom Foster is familiar as well.

“He’s very known. I know he has trained a lot of really good throwers,” Foster said. “He has one of the top girl throwers in the world, and then Adrian Piperi, he just won the NCAA nationals in shot. So he has a good resume.”

Foster is ranked as a four-star prospect and is the No. 90-ranked prospect in the country regardless of position.

Sounds like if we let him throw he's a Longhorn.

Incipient RoJo situation?

I know Preston Stone seems like a baller, but this kid would be a perfect fit for the offense we run.

No way both will sign with UT knowing the other is part of the class

Probably not, but I'd see if it's possible

I want Milroe.  The question is, if Milroe wanted to commit right now would the staff take him?  I'd hope so.  Maybe he'll come at the end of the month and commit Rojo style.

I hope it's as simple as that. Love that Hand has been on him since 8th grade, now let's close him.

Milroe also gives you a guy in the Houston area that other recruits would take notice and he could help with.

Dallas area already looks good for this class with Davis and potentially Duncanville and DeSoto kids getting on board.

If we sign Milroe I need a written agreement from Stone saying he's going to SMU and staying the fuck off our schedule.

We all know he's going to go to Baylor and we'll hear once every drive that we could have had him but we told him no despite being his dream school.

Justin Wells thinks this silent is a 2021:

Going to be some interesting takes on here if it's Stone.

Hoping it's Wheaton, Milroe, or a DL.  A chance it could be Conner?

Why would it be Hayden Conner if he has been discouraged from doing track in the spring by the staff?

Because that's Bryce Foster you're thinking of.

Because Conner does track in space.

You're thinking of Bryce Foster, you racist.

Perhaps I mixed them up because they both attend the same high school. What kind of machine makes racist allegations?

Carrington retweeted his 6/22 shh. Maybe this silent was at the pool party.

So you think this new one is really an old one? That'd be some blue balls.

Nah, Carrington wouldn't do that to us. Especially since he's tweeting from Jamaica (hopefully the island...not the Queens neighborhood).

roach said it’s a 2021 as well and will drop very soon

torn because it's great to start early with 2021, but could really build momentum with regular commitments in the 2020 class.

Dude's a good TE with SC, TCU, and aggy offers a year after we haven't taken one. I'd be into it.

Weighed 217 lbs. at the aggy camp.  Not out of the question he could be in the 230-240 range by the time he graduated HS.

Donovan Jackson was the best OL at the Opening after having mixed reps at Rivals. At the Opening, most of his reps were inside against DTs, and the few he had on the outside were against interior DL who think they're edge players. At best, he's an inside/outside guy, but more likely he's a stud OG. I'd consider both Jackson and Foster elite offensive guard prospects.

Tommy Brockermeyer appears to be a left tackle grown in a lab, as a guy who first played this year, his technique had been getting better exponentially before the injury occurred, and he plays really pissed off, which is one of my favorite traits for OL. The only real knock against him is he'll have to miss his junior season, which is unfortunate.

Savion Byrd is an elite elite athlete for OL, and while he has terrible technique half the time, he's still shutting down 6A DL as an undersized sophomore. His only question is his length, and given how high Texas and some in the industry who've seen him in person have him, I'm guessing the length checks out. He's a guy who could excel at all five OL positions with enough reps to learn them, which is rare.

I'd probably go (1) T Brockermeyer (2) Byrd (3a/3b) Jackson/Foster (5a/5b/5c) James Brockermeyer/Fatheree/Conner, and then the Montgomery/Cade group next

I'm buying the James Brockermeyer stock at center

If this staff is taking an athletic TE early in the next class instead of one in the current class, I'm sold
