Listening to last week's episode of Horns247's Longhorn Blitz podcast & seeing how both UT & A&M's recruiting classes have played out these last 2-3 recruiting cycles, is it safe to say that UT has to recruit nationally & not just depend on the state of Texas?

You should always look nationally - look at Bijan this year.

When we're winning, we can get a top 5 class that's very geographically spread, like the '19 cycle. When we're not, well it's harder, but hopefully can still fill some gaps in the in-state talent group.

Texas doesn’t have to reflect the ups and downs of the in-state talent pool. Get the best players.

This guy is showing as having a Texas offer on the list of offered recruits on the Texas 247 page, but I can't find anything confirming.  JUCO S/LB type.

Weird. They're not from his high school time (he only had PVAMU according to an article I found), and the offers aren't showing up as events in his 247 timeline.

Kids hate feeling like everyone expects them to make a decision almost as much as having the decision made for them. The Brockermeyers are just being able to flex their independence and evaluate their top tier opportunities. The longer they hold off on committing and the more they make people question who they will pick, the more likely they will come back to their first love. Regardless, this will be a battle to the end.

So go tell them Fong has them going anywhere but Texas and we’ll be good.

Are we recruiting teenage girls?

Between him and Williams, we gonna poach PVAMU’s whole class.

I still wonder if Whittington might end up getting a 3-5 carries per game from the slot/RB positions...

He would be great on a jet sweep!!

Nah, we can just throw him bubble screens with no blockers.

I am pretty sure you have a better batting average on your grindr account than on your tinder.

Rivals 250 released.

Bowman is now #32 in the nation.

Sanders dropped 1

LJ Johnson up 14 spots to #67 in the nation.

Milroe dropped 6 spots.

Byrd dropped 65 (ouch).

Landon Jackson dropped 196 (not a misprint) spots.

Wow. Bowman's jump is unexpected, to say the least. Landon Jackson is also wow.

The camp performance where he slapped the bag like a robot who had never done a bag drill in his life was a rivals event.

Wheaton and Byrd Fongd to LSU

Not saying it didn't happen, but I'm not seeing it on the 21' crystal ball pick threads, the players profiles, or on either LSU board.  Could be slow?

Fong did have a prediction article on them and LSU yesterday, but no pick.

Rivals is dumb as shit if they dropped that kid almost 200 spots because of a drill at a camp. Surely they have some other rationale.

He's been injured and was generally talked about as being a bit overrated. Not terribly surprising.

Rivals has been dog shit for a long time now. It's no mistake that Ketchum runs a Rivals site -- they really don't have any quality control whatsoever.

It's kind of ironic, actually -- the recruiting site whose opinion I trust the most (TFB) doesn't do rankings. Those two things might actually be related. Make a note @OnAComputer, don't ever do rankings. It ruins your credibility immensely.

"a bit overrated" and "falling 200 spots" are two different things. I don't believe the kid is a 5 star, but he's probably a top-100 or top-150 dude. Dropping 200 spots for a weird video seems...... weird.

Ah, I see he's on the Tom Herman/Chris Ash working timeline. I think we can expect him to probably be moved into his office and ready to go to work by late February.

they're working on making room for his office.

Perhaps they saw the state championship game, where Jackson did basically nothing against Wimberley's little fat offensive linemen?

2nd TE is probably going to be Arroyo or King.  Watched a little of Arroyo's hudl, real good receiver but didn't see any blocking highlights from the little I watched.  Haven't checked out King's yet.  Anybody seen these 2 play live or watched both hudl's?
