We did this as dumb ass kids (around 12).

We were playing the "invisible rope" game in my yard/street.  Cop turns the corner and we all scatter.  We lived on the next corner, as soon as he turned that corner, I tried to backtrack...he pulled diagonally up into the yard, got out and drew his gun on me.

My dad, who was in the garage, comes out to see the commotion and his 12 year old son with his hands on an oak tree and a cop pointing his gun at him.  Sure that was neat for him.

But to answer your question...no it's not illegal....but yeah, a good way to get shot or at the least a good beatdown.

Man, I hadn't thought about that story in 30 years.  I didn't think much of it at the time or since, but realize how lucky I was.

That’s fucked up. We used to play the same game. Loved getting chased. We were little kids and knew all the yards and shrubs and fences and alleys. No one could catch us and we weren’t doing any harm. A cop stopped and knocked on my grandma’s door one time and she wasn’t pleased. But no one ever drew a gun on us.

How are all these animal facts/observations validated? This goes for all animals but I'll do an example for dogs:

I have read that when dogs sniff each other upon meeting, their smells can let them know all about the dog like if they have ever met, who they have sex with, the breed of that dog they had sex with and all types of other stuff about the dog and its past. How can anyone really know this for sure and can prove this?

Helobius reads it on TikTok comments.

I have a weird medical thing going on and my Dr wrote me a prescription. My insurance company refused to fill it, even after the Dr wrote two justification letters and resubmitted the prescription. She sent me to a specialist, they prescribed the same med. And it was turned down twice again. It’s probably really expensive, and that’s why they’re fighting it, can’t imagine they’d GAS otherwise. I’m considering taking a trip to Mexico and just bypassing the insurance company altogether. Dumb question enters here… Are there any online sources where you can check availability and cost of stuff in Mexico to help me make up my mind?

Have you checked the Mark Cuban pharmacy?  I know people that are saving a shitload of money there.

It's the best thing Cuban has done, or will ever do.

I basically eat like I live in Mexico, but the tostada confuses me. How are you supposed to eat it? Pick it up like a big flat messy taco that’s going to break on the first bite? Chop it up and try and balance the tortilla pieces and toppings on your fork? I usually just eat the toppings and then pick up the soggy tortilla and eat it. And secrets I’m missing out on?

Depends on the tostada.

6" or so they should hold together and you just slide some fingers under it and bite your way across the whole thing. A proper tostada shell won't shatter apart like some taco shells when you bite. Also, a bean and cheese tostada is the best for this as the bean and cheese serves as a reinforcement glue on the shell (sorta like a cheese hinge).

9" dinner tostada, I chop it up with fork (just stab all over to shatter the shell into pieces) and eat pieces of shell+topping balanced on top.

I used to love the beefy tostada at Taco Bell. That was all I ordered for a long time. Then of course they took them off the menu. I looked online but couldn’t find many pics. I found this tiny one on Pinterest:

And I grabbed this from a YouTube video of an old Taco Bell commercial:

Some years ago I noticed that they had tostadas back on the menu. I got pretty excited. But they weren’t beefy tostadas. No problem, I could tell them how to make one. I always ordered them without tomatoes anyway and I could go without the sour cream. I never ate the black olive, either, so I didn’t have to bring it up. Just give me a tostada with layers of retried beans, beef, lettuce, and cheese.

This is what they gave me:

Is there any difference between an HDMI cable and one that’s advertised as a 4k HDMI?

A regular HDMI cable might have issues passing 4K signal. A certified shouldn't. I had a bunch of signal drops when using a regular cable.

Best thing about McDonald’s is the senior coffee. Anywhere between .50 and .75 for black coffee depending on location. Quick black coffee to go when on the road, better quality coffee than Starbucks with 1/10 the wait time.
And it doesn’t matter how old you are. McDonald’s drive thru attendants DGAF.

Not a big fan of McDonalds, but when we're traveling - they are my go to place for coffee. At home, I usually make my own, but in a pinch, I prefer Racetrac or QT.

I very rarely buy coffee outside the house. We buy our coffee from Aroma coffee in Santa Fe. https://aromacoffee.com/about/  Aroma’s best dark is our go-to.

And I agree about McDonald’s. The only time I ever go there is for drive-thru coffee. The reason it’s my go-to on the road is because it’s a drive-thru, with the life hack of the .50-.75 senior coffee. QT or Racetrac don’t have a drive-thru.

Hypothetically speaking but what is the best move when your drunk dumb buddy steals a golf car from security and gets arrested with a little less than a gram of coke on him?

You said he got a PR or I would have said just bail him out. If this is his first judicial rodeo he’s 99% likely to get probation and do a few hours of free slave labor for the county. Maybe a BS drug /alcohol awareness class to boot. Nobody’s looking for jail time for a first time dumbass behavior case. Gonna cost him some change for fines and a lawyer though.

So the Grand Canyon:

Colorado River in the Grand Canyon

Right now there is a relatively narrow river running through the bottom. But that river carved the canyon. So was the river just really wide eons ago to carve that sort of width?

Yeah? How does that canyon take the width?

Actually Googled it afterward. Good video on PBS that explains it:

One of my favorite things to do on google maps is turn on the terrain feature and zoom around.  Look at Lost Maples, for example.  You can see how water has carved it all.  It's just thousands and thousands of streams and runoff that make all of the formations.

Learn me on car touch up paint pot favor. Gf has a 2022 accord and front bumper has a pretty good size scratch on it, maybe 4 inches or so. I think I found the paint code online but is it as easy as just apply it or should I let someone who knows what they are doing handle it?
