My mom had a pellet stove in her living room. Pretty neat and did a really good job of heating a decent sized room.

It requires electricity, so if this is for an emergency, remember that.

I’d have one before I’d have a damn wood stove though.

Pellet stoves are heavy as shit.

Someone want to talk me into/out of buying one of these?  Any advice appreciated.

We have a wood stove in the mountains.  Love that thing.  Heats very nicely when it's well below zero outside.

Is this for heating? Are we worried about the next grid failure?

I miss having a fireplace in the house, just something to take the chill off the living room when it's cold out.

Thinking about getting a pellet because I've read that they're much easier to get up and running and control, but I realize I would need a generator when ERCOT screws the pooch again, so that tips me to a wood stove...

my friend (in his 70's and not in great health) in Italy lives up a set of stairs and has a pellet stove as his primary heat source.  He had to have an electric winch/crane thing bolted to his balcony so he can get the pellets upstairs.   He fills a 5 gallon bucket with pellets, hooks it to the crane, and lifts it up to the balcony.
