Where do you get 3 titles for aggy? They’ve won exactly 1. Those other ones they claim are the fake ones “awarded” in the last 10 years.

My bad. "Claimed"

I believe it is 1970 that can be disputed for Texas.

It should say

Undisputed Titles: UT 3 A&M 1

You are also missing a few Conf. CGs there Sport. Should be 6 to 2

How is their 1939 national championship "almost 30 years before they sniffed one" when we won one in 1963? 24 is not almost 30. The '41, '47, '50, '59, and '61 teams all "sniffed" one, as well.

What gets tiresome about tweets like that is it's like saying "ha ha Michael Jordan's not a great basketball player, he couldn't shoot the basketball". It's factually wrong and sounds stupid when someone says it.

It's just aggy being aggy.  The truth isn't kind to them, so they have to make things up.

Wrong again. We were presented the trophy in 1970. There is no dispute about that.

In 1970, the AP and UPI (coaches poll) awarded national championships. UPI did it before bowl games because bowls were considered exhibitions, AP did it afterwards. Later, it became AP and USA Today, and of course both awarded them after bowl games. We claim 4 because we’ve won 4. If we did the aggy thing, we could claim 10 or 13 or some other ridiculous number.

We lost our bowl game so the AP went to Nebraska because they awarded theirs after the bowls.

We were the consensus #1 before the bowl so the UPI (coaches) awarded us the title because they didn’t count bowl games back then.

The title is real and counts unlike the 2 aggy claims.

Ok? I’m well aware of that. It’s still not an undisputed championship. It’s shared.

He's wrong in that he didn't count it. We have counted it since 1970 because we won it in 1970.

THIS, x1000. If you didn't count it when it happened, don't fucking count it now. Is our 1970 championship weird by our modern, post-bowl sensibilities? Sure. Did people yell about it and claim it was invalid in 1970? NOPE. People (some) wanted a playoff even back then, or wanted a post-all-the-bowls 1vs2 type of championship game, but no one said "so FUCK THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, IT DOESN'T COUNT"

Likewise, did anyone consider Texas A&M the "national champions" in 1919 or 1927? Did the Aggies themselves think they'd won the national title? No. Because there was practically no such thing, there was no way of recognizing it anyway, and everyone knew 90% of the talent in CFB was located east of Ann Arbor and north of the Mason-Dixon.

Here is how Dan Jenkins summarized things in the 1/11/71 issue of Sports Illustrated:

"...Texas' loss to the...Irish was required if the day of the big bowls was to have any prolonged drama for the followers of Ohio State or Nebraska. The reason was that Texas had already captured one 1 1/2 regular season No. 1s, those of the UPI (which the Longhorns won outright) and the Hall of Fame (for which the Longhorns tied Ohio State)."

That is how the UPI was seen at the time. It recognized the best team of the season, prior to bowl games, because the bowl games still weren't seen as trumping the entirety of what a team did prior to that.

It’s really infuriating to see that in 121 years, we only had 11 6+ loss seasons and then Charlie added 3 to that list in 3 years.

We averaged one 6+ loss season per decade and then Charlie comes in and reels off 3 in a row.

well, it was a lot harder to lose 6+ games in the 80s when you only played 11 and bowl appearances were harder to come by

but this response is irrelevant to Charlie sucking, so never mind

I've seen nothing that shows Dabo would leave Clemson for any other program, including Bama. Bama is likely to dip some when Saban finally hangs it up but for aggy to think they're going to be the program that slides into the top spot in the SEC is laughable, man.

Bama could turn into aggy while they regrouped, but wtf does aggy think it would turn into bama?
If bama turned to aggy bama would kill theyself

Looch allows that batshit QAnon stuff to infest TexAgs, so it’s not going to be a surprise when their brain trust gins up another MNC or conference title based on some mathematical formula that the NSA couldn’t decipher.

And they will come up with more titles from their past, because Jimbo sure as hell isn’t taking them to the promised land (especially if one or more of his players take his current squeeze to the promised land).

If they place 2nd in their division, they will slap it on the side of the stadium.

I am telling you, 1994 is going to look like an untapped source of gold before much longer. UNDEFEATED! And look at how we all used to think the Big Ten and Big 8/12 could compete with the SEC, that's been proven wrong, so SEC teams should get the benefit of the doubt going back decades. A&M was practically IN the SEC in 1994, they would have mopped the field with Nebraska or Penn State. In fact A&M DID mop the field with Nebraska just four years later and WOULD have mopped the field with Penn State in 1999 but the refs were biased t-sippers. Your 1994 national champions: the UNBEATEN Texas A&M Aggies.

I discussed this a few pages ago.

First, they were on postseason probation.

Second, they tied one of the worst SMU teams in program history. A team that went 1-9-1 with the only win being against New Mexico at home.

So sure, had they beaten SMU some jack offs would probably try and put '94 on the wall, but when you can't beat the worst team on your schedule it's hard for even aggy to be that delusional.

They also have 1956, which almost a completely identical situation to 1994.

And they probably could just go ahead and claim 1917 and 1909 so long as they are claiming 1919 and 1927.

The Bryan Womens Auxilliary may come out with a revised end of the year ranking for the 1917 and 1909 season with Aggie as the top rated team.  Then they can put it on the stadium as it fits their requirements for national titles....the requirement being that every Coach and Player on the team is dead before they claim the national title.

The guys from that 1994 team better watch their backs...
