The University of Texas did not integrate as quickly as it ought to have done. But while the debate at the University of Texas has been, for several decades now, exactly how far do corrections to those historical errors need to go, the debate at Texas A&M University has been over exactly how loudly to shout out the lying history of murdering racist Sul Ross when defending the continued display of his statue in a place of prominence on campus.

The idea that anyone would defend the history of racism at Texas A&M University by comparing it to literally any other university in the State of Texas, let alone the University of Texas, is an example of just how tone deaf someone can become when they buy into a cult. Wake me when Barbara Jordan, Cesar Chavez, Martin Luther King, et al., are found in places of prominence on the aggy campus.

UT Austin was the first major university in the south to integrate. Graduate studies were integrated in 1950, undergrads in 1956. (Herman Sweatt applied to UT law in 1946).

A&M was still burning crosses on campus where African-American athletes lived in 1970.

Which one of you Surly’s wrote this?

No aggy will EVER be that self aware

That was RD having a little fun. He’s posted that exact same thing several times here in the past. Haven’t seen much of him here lately, so good to see he’s still kicking and that aggy didn’t finally succeed at snuffing him out

Here's another RT from UT_Mangler (the graphic at the bottom)... He's a good follow to keep your cup of aggy tears topped off (or barrel, or syringe or whatever).

What is it about social media that makes people have zero problem with posting shit which is just factually incorrect?

I guess in the case of Bjork, he is posting to the choir. He’ll get more “likes” than “dislikes” so that makes him “right?”

Top 5 huh? Considering that nowadays all 3 major sports only consider the Top 4 to be in contention, that seems arbitrary.

But whatever.

In 1993, aggy did not finish in the Top 5. They were the 3rd team eliminated in an 8-team field. That's 6th place.

And aggy never even made the 8-team final in 1989.

Heman Sweatt.  Not to be confused with Tom Herman's sweat.

Oklahoma state has more than five times as many Top 5 finishes as aggy in the last 60 years. But aggy is a Top 5 program.

If I recall correctly, both Utah and Wake Forest have scoreboard on aggy in their last contests of late.

Pretty sure aggy didnt want to be there last year vs WF.

It’s weird how SEC never wants to be in the games they lose.

They were afraid... you know...of the sheep preferring "meatier" partners.

For Chrissakes, we took down the statue of AMERICAN HERO Albert Sidney Johnston, veteran of the Texas War for Independence and the Mexican-American war, who prior to Patton's winter move to the Ardenne, led the most spectacular winter march in US Army history in November 1857 during the Utah War.  aggy have zero high ground on any claim regarding political correctness.
