Wow regarding their ISIS campus

Well, too much to list for a brief answer. In short, the Admissions department consists of two main people that let in students who have consistently failed pre-calculus 2 or 3 times. TAMUQ is only engineering, keep that in mind. Those same two people are not even from the United States, much less know what Aggie culture is and the quality of student we should expect. They are told to admit at least 50% Qatari students, but the number is much higher and Qatari students are basically given TAMU engineering degrees. These are the exact same degrees that our engineering students get on main campus. A Qatari student who stinks at math will be admitted without question over a 4.0 student that isn't Qatari. Main campus students bust their tails to earn their degrees and students in Qatar are given "no grades" for a semester if they simply complain. Grades are constantly negotiated by students and sadly, that works and they get grades changed. Cheating is a way of life for a TAMUQ student. Professors make around $150,000-$200,000 annually in Qatar on average, so they don't do anything about it to protect their interests, just like all leadership at TAMUQ. The salaries and allowances for people that work at TAMUQ are much higher than what is listed on the tribune. Most of them come to pad their TRS account and bank accounts, then return home. Out of 450 undergrads in 4 engineering degrees in Qatar, students are dragged across the finish line by the university because TAMU gets millions of dollars a year from Qatar Foundation. There's only a small handful of Aggies that work for TAMUQ, which are a huge minority. So there's no Aggie culture in Qatar. It takes no effort to be re-admitted if a student fails out. About 90% of the students in Qatar put in the same effort as a D student at Blinn and they get free grades to keep up the illusion of graduating legit Qatari engineers. The politics run deep at TAMUQ. Those are a few examples.

That is some seriously concerning shit right there in a number of respects. I may have missed something though - is that a quote from something or something you wrote?

Fucking DUH, this is what Arab concerns do with their money. You lie down with that dog, you are going to be flea-infested in no time.

A little-known piece of trivia about A&M's Qatar campus:

"The invitation to open a branch specializing in engineering degrees — the only kind A&M currently offers in Qatar — was first extended to A&M’s chief rival, the University of Texas, but UT declined to participate."

https://www.texastribune.org/2012/05/25/after-10-years-qatar-m-looking-forward-10-more/

Back in May, Judicial Watch jumped into the legal battle over information concerning A&M's involvement with the Qatari government. A&M has been fighting to keep as much info about that campus as possible hidden from public scrutiny.

“Judicial Watch and the Zachor Legal Institute are battling in court for the truth about how the foreign government of Qatar lassoed Texas A&M into setting up a campus in a country run by a government known for its promotion of terrorism and extreme anti-Israel and anti-Semitic policies,” said Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch’s president, in Monday’s release.

Sound like the Qataris have accurately assimilated the culture of aggy grad school admissions.

Some of that is a little more on-the-nose than I want to get in what is supposed to be a non-CR thread, but my experience is that something called the "Qatar Foundation" exists to benefit Qatar and Qataris regardless of what its stated mission might say or imply and regardless of whether that's compatible with a greater good.

E.g., "we sponsor journalism, and sure, our mission statement says we want fair, open, unbiased journalism to flourish all over the world, but coincidentally, we define that precise thing as 'journalism that portrays everything Qatar says or does or thinks as unerringly moral and just', so make sure 100% of your publication reflects that truth".

Which, no wonder the Aggies don't see that as unethical, it might as well have come from their University charter.

We've seen the story up close and it's obviously getting worse. On the state level I thought it was more of a trade of money for prestige type of thing -- not a total sell-out of a supposedly academic arm of the state of Texas. Some of the specifics that the "self-aware aggy" got into are cause of concern on a number of very important levels, and really beg for some serious investigation. The only surprise I guess is that there seems to be zero institutional, law enforcement, or legislative control (or even interest) in the situation.  I wonder how much money qatari money Sharp has put into his own pockets. I hope I've sufficiently stayed non-CR.

I'm sure he is every bit as dependable as A&M's drive to solve the problems of resource sustainability, their efforts to make women the "new face" of engineering in the Middle East, and their "breakthrough alternative fuel advances."

If there is one thing A&M produces in abundance, it is false claims of "greatness."

Those who remember the 1990s, might remember when A&M solved the mystery of alchemy and perfected cold fusion. More recently, A&M solved the problem of world hunger bu making cotton seed flour the basis of a nutritional diet. aggy has a lot, but rarely anything productive or anything to be proud of.

The University and its officials are contractually barred from revealing the specifics of the exchange between the Qatar Foundation and Texas A&M.

WTF? Can a deal between a publicly funded state university and any kind of foreign or domestic organization legally be kept a secret here in Texas?

According to the Attorney General, absolutely not. A&M has been hiding behind sovereign immunity for so long they have lost connection with their obligations to be responsible stewards of the people's interests.

Just wait until Judicial Watch gets done with their litigation to force A&M to divulge the details. If I had to guess, there are "associated persons" (family members, business associates, etc) of those inside Texas A&M in the Qatari payroll as "consultants." Not to get CR, but Joe Biden's son was hardly the only person connected with a domestic government official to be on the payroll of a foreign government.

I'm sure someone living in the U.S. and somehow connected with TAMU is on the Qatari payroll under the table.

FYI - a quick check on the "aggy astronaut" shows... "not aggy".

Quote

(From Wikipedia and confirmed via NASA):

He graduated from Wadsworth High School, Wadsworth, Ohio, in 1975; received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1979, and a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in 1986.

So ... more aggy attempts at glomming onto someone else's glory.

Has anyone seen this week’s fake aggy “I visited College Station to see the game at Kyle Field and was amazed at the bestestest fans, the beauty of the town, and the opulent beauty of the campus of the richestest university in the solar system” letter yet?

I would look for it on the "Los aggy" forum.
