Well yeah, gorillas are scary.

To tie Pittsburg State back into this thread, one of our favorite aggy HC is not only an alumni, but got his first collegiate HC gig there:

They were so proud, stealing 'Bama's coach and revenging Bryant. Yeah, not so much.

In the recruiting thread this tweet was shared. Item 2 had me curious about how much it would cost to fire Jimbo at the end of this season. Per the article below they’re looking at just south of $77 mil. It’ll take until 2026 for the buyout to reach levels commensurate to Dabo, the current #2 buyout.

I mean we’re playing Michigan in what ‘24 and ‘25? The Michigan Rose Bowl was an all time classic till we one upped it a year later. I would love to play Michigan as much as possible in football, basketball and baseball

Pure comedy gold.
"because of great coaching hires like Jimbo Fisher and Buzz Williams, the Aggies appear to be on the verge of winning or contending for national championships in every major sport."

WTF, the clown author is a UT grad. Half his Texas Monthly articles are anti Hohn hatchet jobs. Weird.

You must not know much about Richard Justice.

Mentally, aggys are children. They have an insatiable need for validation and affirmation. They need to be constantly told "the Aggies appear to be on the verge of winning or contending for national championships in every major sport."

Just like King Gill wasn't the only substitute on the sideline, the fact that A&M is actually a branch of UT, the scaling of the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc was no amazing feat in itself, the Corps of Cadets is a costume clad civilian fraternity with no association whatsoever with the U.S. military, Sul Ross was in fact a virulent white supremacist, and no there weren't cars on the A&M campus in 1862, truth eludes aggys.

Journalism jobs are tough to come by these days. Writers such as Justice hold their nose, pat the aggys on the head, tell them they are "on the precipice" and collect their paychecks twice a month.

It's how things work in Texas.

If Max is the starter (which he will be, of course), I say 8 wins.

If Connor is starter, 6 wins.

If King is starter, that means Jimbo is no longer our head coach for some reason and all bets are off.

King is no longer their savior?

I was sitting in a bar in Oklahoma City. Minding my own business. Guy to the right of me was having an intense conversation with a buddy about Johnny Manziel being the best quarterback in college football history. I look over, he’s got his Aggie ring on. A&M polo. I have no dog in the fight, I went to a small college with no football. As I walked out, in passing, said “Johnny couldn’t hold Vince Young’s jock”. He gets furious and yells “get out of here you Sip!”. I reply “congrats on your upcoming 8-4” and walk out. So, I guess I was an honorary Texas fan yesterday. I don’t know how you deal with that cult all year round.

Which OCU? Okie Central, Okie Christian or Oklahoma City U?

One of the side effects of completely lacking self awareness is an inability to ignore comments from others. They have no ability to recognize when they are being baited and they react every single time. Every. Single. Time.

I know I've told you about this @Randolph Duke, but for everyone else a few years ago I was in a bar in downtown Dallas that was full of aggy morons. I told them about how they're not a military school and the corps is just an ROTC program and a joke because they have a fucking lassie dog in charge as general. I then mention Rudder and they get more annoyed and angrier. My friend, who was a bartender, told me, "you gotta go" and cashed my tab out quickly. Then her coworker escorted me out the back through the kitchen because they overheard all the aggy fucks wanting and planning to jump me. LOL the fuckers can't handle the truth and get mad so easily. My friend moved and stopped working there(since the owner is aggy and the place is mainly an aggy grad bar).

I just got back from a long weekend in Northern LA (Not California you fool). While there I stopped off at local watering hole. As I was wearing a longhorn cap at the time, a couple of guys actually wished me the best in the $EC, but of course not against LSU. Anyways, they also mentioned their hatred for the gomers and were actually glad we would be able to keep them informed of the shit show that goes on in collie station. BTW, if you are a cigar smoker and visit this area, good cigar stores are far and few between. Bring your own or suffer like I did.

aggys will often threaten violence against anyone who uses intelligence or education against them. The true honor, however, is when they simply refuse to acknowledge the existence of irrefutable evidence showing what they claim to be is not true.

To my knowledge, no aggy has even tried to refute the fact we know Sul Ross was in fact a white supremacist because his own daughter unequivocally stated so. Yes, the single most important person in aggy culture and school history was a white supremacist and yes, they maintain a shrine to a known white supremacist on their campus. Any argument made otherwise is made out of ignorance. Texas A&M remains the only institution of higher education I can think of whose culture is entirely dependent on the ignorance of its students and alumni.

You don't even have to go all the way to Vince to find a Texas QB as good or better than Johnny Football:

Colt:  season best 76.7% pct, career 70.3% pct, season best 173.8 QBR

Johnny:  season best 69.9% pct, career 68.9 % pct, season best 172.9 QBR

Since I was in Oklahoma, I thought that I’d go to VY just to make my point hurt more. There’s lots of Big 12 QBs that have been better than Johnny.  Colt, VY, Kyler, RG3, Baker, Bradford, and even Mahomes/Harrell were both great.

The way he whipped his head around out of rage when I started off was amazing.  So angry. So little brother. I had to look up what a Sip was. Lol. That’s ever more little brother. I can’t believe you have to put up with it 24/7 365.

so i've been reading the 995 forum for the first time in 6 months and this current aggy meltdown has me speculating what has happened and so i have questions.

1. is crypto in some way involved in their '22 class?

2. is their a problem with the crypto piece of those deals?  is this what is being referred to as "problems making payroll"?

3. to what degree has the pendulum swung 180 degrees from the '22 class?   is the current situation an illusion or are they really in smoking crater mode?

whatever has gone wrong for them is certainly not a secret.

knock on wood and before the grace of god go thee, but goddamn they *look* like shit and their own people are on to it, and looch hasn't even posted his 44 yet

has looch ever not had his 44 out in june or earlier?

It's tough to put together his list when he has no idea who aggy will eventually sign.

Yeah, I think the Ags got the equation wrong. Recruiting HS players loses importance when there is freedom to transfer and NIL payments. Most 5 stars pan out in college, but only half the 4 stars do. How will the Ags respond when the highly paid recruit doesn’t pan out? That money is gone, and the booster that paid it will feel like a fool. When the highly paid recruit does pan out, but leaves for a higher paying rival (actually, he’s more likely to insist on a raise)?

They made a big splash recruiting their 2022 class, but I think they overpaid for potential. It’s a new market now.
