I really wish they would have given him the opportunity to have a press conference. I can just hear him going over every play they didn't make that would have resulted in a championship instead of this.

You’d have to record it and then slow it down. And then you would maybe understand what he said…and still laugh.

Paraphrasing , he said big cigars not involved in buyout, 100% admin driven. Big cigars are tapped out after all the expansion expenses. He expects the donors to pony up for baseball field so this one is on the school. Feels like the sucking of the football program is due to uncertainty /turnover at the AD and president level. Said losing Ad to lsu was a big loss for jumbo. Compared stoops , saban (at lsu) and Mack to the Bermuda Triangle that ultimately doomed RC, felt like they were getting passed up. Didn’t want that to happen again. More or less what he said. Also said a lot of nothing , he’s a dork.

they don't have a plan or any idea where the money is coming from

If only Texas A&M was a fiscally conservative college, perhaps they wouldn't be in this mess, unlike us liberal Longhorns and our financial situation.

All politics aside, it is fascinating that Texas' BOR have pretty much all been republican since the mid-90's yet they find a way to work collaboratively with who I assume are centrist/left University leadership in a meaningful and positive way. Just goes to show, smart people + common goal = pretty good outcomes regardless of political stripe.

I think they should look at Tim DeRuyter. He was their interim coach after they fired Sherman, and he's 1-0 as the Aggie head coach. You literally cannot get better than that!

Seriously though, he's probably their best coach since R.C. Slocum.

Maybe they could bring back THE CHIEF to call defensive signals for him.  He's apparently the DC for a USFL team, so maybe if they offered him $3M/year, they could entice him to return to CS?

“Sips are terrified this morning” is a classic aggy laughable statement.

aggy is and will always be the Ike Clanton of college football.   Shit talking then pants shitting blowhards.

For me "Suck it, DeLoss" takes it from a laugh to a legendary post.

I assume it's because Texas actually has a long history of telling the state to go fuck itself regarding funding because the university can make enough money on it's own to stay afloat. For example, the state wanted to cut funding when integration began and Texas started admitting black students, and the University called it's bluff and went a few years without state funding and was just fine. Being able to handle your own banking keeps both the state and the BOR in line.

This is actually precisely the reason Rick Perry was able to fuck with A&M so much. When students at A&M massively protested his 5-point program (in lock step with University of Texas students, actually), A&M had to fold because they were in debt, while Texas got to successfully get around his 5-point program. Very honestly the only time I ever felt sorry for the Ags, cause the governor was fucking with actual student education there against their will.

Ran into an assistant coaches wife in Denver Airport. Guy currently works for Colorado but was at A&M for a couple years and even at Texas before that. If you can figure out who that is, Kudos.

Anyways, she said Aggies already have Dan Lanning in the bag.

Looch preparing the fan base for Chip Kelly, Mike Gundy, Elko, Traylor, or a coordinator. Chip Kelly is probably going to get fired.

So aggy is going blow well over a $100 million for one of the coaches listed above?

How does this make any sense?

Watched the Bjork press conference. Pretty entertaining. How he still has a job is beyond me. Fired Jumbo today at 9am and also fired his Athletic Director Football. He can follow Jimbo to Lamar University or Slippery Rock. Then they told the team, but they already knew, of course. Looks like Jumbo package didn’t even get to say goodbye, lol. Oh, well. Those players never learned how to execute anyway.

At least they can never take away the future championship trophy they gave Jumbo when he arrived. Even by the most Aggiest of standards, that is a profoundly dumb event that I still only half-believe actually happened.

The timing is very interesting. Is it to save as many recruits for the early signing day?

All coaches reach an age where the game passes them by. Jumbo was that guy, always thinking he just needed the right players to execute to make his offense a success, just like it was 10 years ago. Many Aggies noted that despite Petrino, the offense looked very similar to the one they’ve been running for years. That pretty much tells us that Jimbo and his ego wouldn’t allow any changes.

I’m gonna miss him. He’s probably my favorite coach. Watching his legendary press conferences was beyond entertaining. His lack of awareness to how he came across in them was really fun, too. Bye, Jumbo.
