Anyone want to bet coog high already has their new corch lined up and it is Traylor?  Wonder if he turned down aggy to take the UH job.

Are we sure UH is an upgrade from UTSA these days? Yeah, P4, and all...

So Mackovic was actually a slimier douche bag than than we figured, hard to fathom.

You just know Mackovic was terrified of Augie. Probably kept his door shut with orders to his secretary to not let that mean baseball coach in hereSeason 8 Wow GIF by The Office

Yes, they’ve just broke ground on a $130 million football operations center. Their facilities and NIL support are much better than UTSA.

Dan Quinn would be the best possible hire for them. His name has cache from what the Cowboys D has been doing.  He's not too old and still seems energetic. Has a plethora of NFL coaching connections he could tap to hire a great staff, probably take one of Shanahan's guys for OC (Kubiag jr?).

Stoops has done better than previous UK coaches because when he was hired UK's administration finally made investments in facilities and salaries that the previous UK coaches didn't receive. He isn't a better coach then the guy they just fired. He has a very conservative offense that the top programs abandoned a long time ago. Florida and Tennessee being down has certainly helped him.

So, let’s just say they do promote Robinson. Is he forced to keep the staff? Are we really about to run back this same shitshow but only replace Jimbo?

If not, where are his contacts to build a staff? They desperately need to get rid of the rot at OL, TE, WR, and QB coaches. Does Robinson just rely on Petrino to fill it with “his” guys? Does anyone trust him enough to not turn this into a neponistic shitshow?

What about on D? So they go chalk with how bad large swaths of that staff is? If he makes replacements, where do they come from? It’s not like he has major connections outside of the current staff?

So  it’s riding with the same ole retreads  or it’s relying on his minimal level of contacts to build a Turtle Tom equivalent staff or they are going to rely on what Durkin and Petrino can bring in….

Get the popcorn ready…

Promoting the DL coach and making him keep the staff over an OC and a DC who were both HCs..   That’s just a recipe for cohesion, accountability and cooperation among that staff.

I think they should hire Robinson to an interim role, fire Bjork and hire a real AD who can hire their own guy next year.   By then things might settle down and headlines move elsewhere, and they can move toward finding a good HC without the spotlight in their face…. But they won’t because they are Aggies.

They really think they can make a run next year because their star class will all be in their contract seasons, even though nearly half that class has portaled out and they have glaring holes all around the roster, and no depth outside the DL.   They need a full reset to unfuck what Fisher did to the program and it’s painful to endure, we know.   I mean, trade 1 Walter Nolan for 2 good tackles and a center, there’s a start.

He can get an NFL HC job. Probably could've last year. And he's an NFL guy. He ain't taking a college job

If the rumors about bjork going rogue are true, that level of self sabotage must mean he is also tired of aggy’s shit and intentionally trying to get fired himself. For his sake (and ours lulz too) I really hope he has the same guaranteed buyout contract language as jimbo.
I also don’t see how any non-desperate coach takes a job with uncertainty at the AD role. What a giant glorious mess.

Those rumors can't be true.  Bjork is stupid, but he's not that stupid.  That would literally make him unemployable in the entire industry.

Mark Stoops got on a plane to go to Texas A&M and when he landed A&M changed their mind and no longer wanted him. Got right back on the plane to Kentucky

Tom Landry probably found that out about him when Mackovic was QB coach for the Dallas Cowboys and why Mackovic didn't last long there.

Didn't we do something similar to the other stoops brother that sark wanted as DC?  Memory is fuzzy as to specifics but I thought he got on a plane as our DC but when he landed the offer was rescinded for similar reasons of a revolt in the ranks

If I was a big name coach, I'd call aggy and tell them I want the job, but they need to come to me. Then when their plane touched down, I'd text and tell them I changed my mind.

Mike Stoops. Sorta similar situations, but I don’t know about any plane boardings. His name was floated and shamed from what I remember.

Sark really should have trusted his gut there. Would have been an excellent hire.

Absolutely not. Was an idiotic proposal and would have failed miserably.
