"Alberts is that guy. He’s forward-thinking. He works well with donors. He understands the issues confronting athletic departments today, and comes up with innovative solutions. Importantly, he understands NIL and is well-apprised of where things could go. I have no doubt he is already ahead on planning for such scenarios."

That there is some fucking hard-hitting journalism, mi amigos.

F'n rubes.

In other words,  alberts is the jimbo fisher of ADs.  That’s how amazing he is

Our boy Graham is at it again.  This time it's the Trev hire.  And of course none of it make sense.  This guy is going to be good for a lot of laughs going forward.

Texas A&M hiring Trev Alberts shows they are still one step ahead of Texas, OU
The Texas A&M Aggies are showing that they won’t back down to anybody in the new era of collegiate athletics.

That logic and writing has taken 10 IQ points from all of us.   May he burn in idiot hell and our collective recovery be swift and permanent.

“By announcing this in such a context, Del Conte has the plausible deniability of saying he was talking about one of the big questions relevant to Texas Athletics moving forward. However, he also was the first to announce it, giving the impression that the Longhorns are the leader in the arrangement.”

Didn’t aggy try to break the news first that big bad tu moving to the secsecsec? Or negotiating to do so? By that comparison, was aggy the leader in the decision to bring Texas to the conference?

And also didnt they scream and throw fits in the floor to every media outlet that would listen saying that the first game back was at Kyle Field when no such conversations had taken place?

Not sure why aggy would hire an 82 year old sportscaster, Marv Albert but…

So then why would aggy hire a famous Trumpeter and the Tijuana Brass, it made no sense, or did it? But he liked women.

Maybe this is sarcasm, but he was a damn good player for them back in the day  Won some awards IIRC.  That is what is a little shocking to everybody for him leaving.

I think the NCAA is just delighting in disrespecting Aggy for daring to question the system.

They deserved a 5 seed.

They were given a 7 seed.

They then lost to a 10-seed.

Someone needs to file a freedom of Information.

Personally, I think it's the greatest run in UT football history.

I might be exaggerating a little bit.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Matt Nordgren’s 4th quarter TD against Baylor in 2005 was THE greatest run in UT history.

Partially because it was half football, half basketball.

Pretty sure everyone knows this.

The joke is, the ags are beating their chests and crowing like they pulled off some major coup, but in reality Trev hasn't accomplished... well... anything, since he became the AD at Nebraska.  Their volleyball team was nationally elite long before Trev became AD, and their football team remains the butt of many national jokes.

Well, he did hire Rhule. Who had one good season at Baylor. And coached in the NFL. And gave a really good locker room speech one time.

When news came down that Texas A&M was hiring Trev Alberts as their new Director of Athletics, shockwaves were sent throughout the collegiate athletics landscape. Alberts has been a leader in the industry for quite some time, and is an alum of Nebraska. For those reasons, Texas A&M’s hire was rightly seen as a seismic move.

I had a seismic move this morning after my second cup of coffee.
