It's a commitment, alright. Every point, regardless of false premise, or not, also incorporates an obvious dig - usually regarding something that's entirely made up. So, in summary, entirely aggy.

The Longhorns, sitting at no. 2 in the Coaches’ Poll, (can't reference what we are in the AP, can you, aggy?) are continuing to make a lot of hay with that win over Michigan—one that looks like it will continue to sour with each passing week (then why did Texas get moved up to #1 after UTSA?), after the Wolverines beat Arkansas State by only ten.

The same old issues (umm, what?) keep cropping up. Quinn Ewers threw another extremely questionable interception shortly (maybe there was a reason?) before he exited the game with an abdominal strain (oh, yeah, like that one. He also passed for 185 yards and 2 TDs on 14-of-16 passing, but none of that matters). Arch Manning was able to find the talented Longhorn receivers against the UTSA defensive backs (no matter that plenty of the throws by Ewers and Manning were perfect dimes, but it was just the receivers) for the rest of the game, but rushing acumen on both sides of the ball hasn’t been there (bro, why? Texas passed for over 400 yards and rushed for almost 200. Did they need to run for more production in this one for some reason?).

The Longhorns allowed nearly a yard per carry more than the Roadrunners average, and they themselves earned their worst PPA/rush of the year at 0.028 (who invented this stat I've never seen carry weight and why does it matter?). For context, that’s worse than A&M against Notre Dame, Vanderbilt against Virginia Tech, or Kentucky against Georgia.

The Longhorns have been able to take advantage of overmatched teams (overmatched partly because Texas is so good) and inept offenses so far on defense, putting up impressive numbers in YPA allowed and defensive third down conversion rate. But when they face more capable offensive units, you can’t help but feel that their ineptitude in these facets will end up coming back to bite them (so, OP, is Texas impressive or inept? Because you just said each to describe the same on-field results).

That 1 carry for 53 on a busted assignment kinda helped the average a little bit

No fanbase can throw away a starting QB for the back-up like ATM. It doesn't really get noticed or credited at the national level because ATM has been a middling program for so long and this kind of shit only happens when that kind of program is really down, but it's clear as day for all of us. What I find astonishing about it is how predictable it is. I know Mond was never replaced, which blows my mind, and Johnny Eightball was the man for two years, but I don't recall any other QB making it through their career since maybe Brandon Stewart.

In this case, Weigman was being touted as recently as ... (checks notes) the week before this season as the best QB in the SEC. Yes, Peter Burns did that on the SEC preseason show and while others on the set showed surprise with that, his take was viewed as credible. There were scouts listing him as a 1st rounder who could actually rise to the top of the board! absurdly. Magazines were listing him as a top 10 national QB. Steele listed him as his 7th QB on the draft board, one behind Ewers.

So even for the aggie idiots online, there was ample support for their view that Weigman was the real deal. I don't think any of these people looked at the actual performance of the guy and his injury history. They were all just pointing to some stats from a few games and the 5 star ranking and Billy Liucci telling anyone who would listen that Weigman was "Him".

Then the guy shows up fat, slow, confused and inept against Notre Dame. Quickly, it's as if this scrub was an unknown in need of a rapid discard. They've basically stayed on that tilt as a fanbase. The boards are furious that Weigman is still listed as QB1 on the depth chart. Reed looks like an average dual threat guy that will have his weaknesses picked apart by good defenses as the season moves on. They're willing to simply dump a 5 star that they, and their talking heads, have been touting for 3 straight years. This for some 3 star rando (until he flops and they find someone new again).

If this 5 star QB out of CA actually signs with them, he should be immediately discounted as the dumbest motherfucker in college football.

I went down a wiki rabbit hole, wondering whatever happened to Mark Farris, Dustin Long, Reggie McNeal, Stephen McGee, Jerrod Johnson…

Amazing. I think there are at least three DCTF cover boys in that group of discards. A lot of post college play in the CFL. Most of them (exception: Jerrod Johnson) were taught by their experiences to hate the sport, evidently, as they are out of the game and onto other things.

I like how he writes it like these are all self evident truths that everyone is in agreement with.

In his world the AP poll, coaches poll, final score of football games are meaningless. That PPA/rush number against UTSA in a 49 point win tells him all he needs to know. Texas is a fraud

Until next week, when those stats turn in Texas' favor and he is forced to find other stats that he can twist into his Texas sucks narrative.

I don't know much about A&M's history over the last 30 years other than them losing some hilarious games like 27-25 and 77-0, so I asked ChatGPT about the QBs being replaced and this is what it came up with:

1992-1995: Corey Pullig 4-yr starter

1996: Branndon Stewart replaced by Mark Farris midseason

1997-1999: Randy McCown 3-yr starter, replaced Mark Farris

2001: Mark Farris replaced by Dustin Long midseason

2002: Dusting Long replaced by Reggie McNeal midseason

2005: Reggie McNeal replaced by Stephen McGee midseason (injury)

2008: Stephen McGee replaced by Jerrod Johnson midseason (injury)

2010: Jerrod Johnson replaced by Ryan Tannehill

2012-2013: Manziel 2-yr starter

2014: Kenny Hill replaced by Kyle Allen midseason

2015: Kyle Allen replaced by Kyler Murray midseason

2016: Trevor Knight (ChatGPT says he transferred from OU? Don't remember this guy)

2017: Nick Starkel (? who is this?) and Kellen Mond swapped back and forth (?)

2018-2020: Mond starts for 3 yrs

2021: Haynes King replaced by Zach Calzada (injury)

2022: Haynes King replaced by Max Johnson, who was then replaced by Connor Weigman

2024: Looks like Weigman about to be replaced by Marcel Reed

Trevor Knight I feel bad for. Grew up a longhorn fan, I thought we were gonna offer him but nope. Ends up at OU then transfers to aggy. Poor guy.

Don’t forget, this is the same fan base that said Fran was a “better recruiter than Mack and better Gameday coach than Stoops.”  They also touted “Real Deal” McNeal over VY.  Aggy a large collection of hopeless dumb motherfuckers.

What exactly have we done that would resemble "continuing to make a lot of hay"? We won the game. And then this week we played another game.

This is a team that has figured out its identity offensively. The early game against a staunch Notre Dame defense, even though it resulted in a loss, could end up serving the Ags well by the time the season ends.

They seem to be making a lot of hay from their loss to Notre Dame. Quality loss > wins.

The bloom on that rose had faded by his graduation, too. We broke their win streak in his last game at Pyle. And of course they were paying players his whole time on campus.

ESPN really should do a 30 for 30 on the string of aggy QB1s and how the fans initially cherish them but always clamor for QB2 usually in relatively short order.

Also I feel like Texas A&M should adopt the WNBA's old who got next slogan...
