They just ran out of teams with losing records to play.

That was one of the most overrated teams in history.  They beat a winless Vandy by 4 or 5 at home, and I think they played two schools win a winning record, Florida and Alabama.  They did beat Florida but got hammered by Saban by like 4 TDs.  And they still talk about that season.  Congrats, you beat up a bunch of cripples.

Tha f are they favored by 18 this weekend?  I'm not a gambling man, but that seems very high.

Edit:  Apologies as I posted before reading above.

They've been talking up Weigman in their off-week. He’s the same “great” QB he was before he shit the bed against Notre Dame.

Actually, Weigman is the backup. Or maybe the other one is the backup. Or maybe Weigman was the backup, but now he is the starter, but might be the backup starter?

Regardless, either one of them is the greatest QB in college football today.

I accept the guy’s premise.

Millions of people root for Texas. That’s why we’re the richest, most popular program in college football. Aggy is only claimed by those who went there because who else would wear that scarlet letter?

On another thread, I was trying to find an efficient way to say this. Well done!

For about the last 15 years the Aggies have had a pretty elegant solution to growing their fan base without T-shirt fans, they just offer admission to anyone who (mostly) spells their name correctly on the application

Then these non-redass Aggies get to be embarrassed by the redasses for the rest of their lives.

Their self image is made up of feeling like they are special, and only they can see it, and the rest of the world is just trying to fuck them over. They aren't alphas, and they never will be.

The reality is that they are uniquely retarded. They value their uniqueness over everything, because it's the only thing that makes them feel special. And therein lies the problem: they aren't special. They are the common clay of the new west.

The weekend is once again nearly upon us, college football fans. Now nearly midway through the season, storylines and title favorites are beginning to take shape.

This weekend figures to be a big one for said storylines and title favorites, however. We have some huge ranked matchups on the docket in the SEC, and some games that will no doubt be fun watches either way. Without further ado, let's jump right in.

What to watch in college football week 8: Early slate
First screen: Auburn @ 19 Missouri (12 PM ET/11 AM CT, ESPN)

Auburn is coming off of a bye week, and Mizzou is anxious to prove themselves. The Alabamian Tigers are in the middle of a three-game road trip and still searching for answers on offense, while their counterparts are a little more established. I think Mizzou takes this one, though not without some heartburn for fans. Prediction: Missouri 27, Auburn 17

Second screen: 6 Miami (FL) @ Louisville (12 PM ET/11 AM CT, ABC)

Cam Ward and the Hurricanes are continuing their hard charge at an ACC title, and this might be the single biggest challenge left for them before they inevitably make it to Charlotte. Louisville is on a bit of a skid after a strong start to the season, having dropped games to SMU and Notre Dame and escaping a scare against UVA. I think the Hurricanes make quick work of this one. Prediction: Miami 41, Louisville 27

What to watch in college football week 8: Afternoon slate
First screen: 14 Texas A&M @ Mississippi State (4:15 ET/3:15 CT, SECN)

This is a Texas A&M blog, so I can do what I want! This is what I'll have on my first screen, after all.

The Aggies are looking to continue the big time momentum they've harnessed after a huge win over a then-top-10 Missouri squad. Starkville has been tricky, but if the Aggies aren't ready for this one, then they're not who we thought they were.

I do think they are who we thought they were, though. Positively, I mean.

Prediction: Texas A&M 44, Mississippi State 17

Second screen: 7 Alabama @ 11 Tennessee (3:30 PM ET/2:30 PM CT, ABC)
I wasn't sure which Saturday in what month this game was supposed to be played, so it's good to see it's finally here. Alabama has looked shaky in the last two weeks, as has Tennessee, so what was sure to be a top-5 faceoff in Knoxville has slightly lost some luster.

But not all the luster! This is sure to draw tons of eyes in any case. The flagging Tennessee offense could make some hay against a uncharacteristically poor 'Bama defense, and the potent Tide offense will have a worthy foe in the Volunteer defense.

It's close, but I'll give this one to the home team. Prediction: Tennessee 28, Alabama 27

Bonus third tiny phone screen: 24 Michigan @ 22 Illinois (3:30 PM ET/2:30 PM CT, CBS)

How is Michigan still ranked? How is Illinois ranked at all? These are not good teams, folks. I'm just glad Gary Danielson will get to hang out with Bret Bielema again, though. Prediction: Illinois 23, Michigan 17

What to watch in college football week 8: Late slate
First screen: 5 Georgia @ 1 Texas (7:30 PM ET/6:30 PM CT, ABC)

This is surely the game of the weekend. Georgia gets another tough test on the road, while Texas gets their first test all season. Can the Longhorns defend a team that knows what the forward pass is? Will Georgia actually look like they're trying in this game? All these questions and more surround this one.

Texas's offense seems tailor-made to exploit UGA's weaknesses in the same way that Alabama did a few weeks ago, but Quinn Ewers is still an enigma in his level of play. Since I'm a hater, I'll give this one to the Bulldogs. Prediction: UGA 38, Texas 31

Second screen: 8 LSU @ Arkansas (7 PM ET/6 PM CT, ESPN)

After a long, hard-fought, overtime rivalry victory against Ole Miss, the Tigers get to go on the road for a night game in Fayetteville. Oh, and it's against a team coming off of a bye week following a win over a top-five Tennessee team. Should be easy enough, right?

We'll get to see if the perceived improvement on the defensive side of the ball for LSU is for real in this one. Taylen Green, Andrew Armstrong, and Ja'Quinden Jackson, all under the watchful eye of Bobby Petrino, could make things difficult on the Tigers.

I think Nussmeier and the Bayou Bengals emerge victorious here, but just barely. Prediction: LSU 23, Arkansas 21

“Top 10 Mizzou” (aggy’s quality win) is gonna struggle against 2-4 Auburn at home.

We ALL knew they were overhyping that last.

Texas Ags are back!

Until they struggle versus Miss St or lose to LSU.

Graham Harmon masturbating over OU getting worked right now as proof that Texas ain’t shit.  (Avoids analyzing Bowling Green’s season).

He’s dropping us to the bottom of the SEC after this weekend. “Sure, Texas defeated Georgia by double digits, but I just can’t overlook how they beat up a terrible OU team, which really shows just how weak the Longhorns are this year.”

If those dipshits can manage to lose on the road to a shitty MSU team (they are good at losing on the road) and we do to Georgia what I think we will this will be the most glorious day ever with what OU is doing in Norman right now…

...and what Nebraska did in Bloomington, not that Nebraska even matters

But, fuck Corn anyway
