How exactly is A&M going to score on us more than we score on them?  Y'all are being dramatic.

If they are successful with the UGA pressure strategy, the same way UGA and their 3 int qb did - short fields and tired defense.

As I said above, I hope we have a better plan for pressure. Because if I was aggy I’d bring the house every play against us until we beat it. And maybe we will. Who knows.

Again, a pick 6 is a score. A pick inside our 35 where we shut down their O is still 3 points. They have a reliable non-clown kicker.

I think we probably win a close one, but not if bad ewers shows up.

Mizzou  #7... Lulz

this troll is really going for it.

8th.  Even if you think Texas is lucky, and has been trending wrong...how do you put them behind Mizzou and more than 4 other SEC teams?

It's fucking silly...trolling or not.

#3 offense and #1 defense. But apparently that isn't good?

Have you heard of "success rate"?

My favorite is a friend of mine has pulled out a "Well I hope y'all are better at X than Aggy's are at stacking wood" poor taste joke/one liner a few times over the years at bars/events were Aggy was present watching sports, got sucker punched by a female Aggy who heard it once...

To my knowledge the Aggies never directed any of that anger into the system or people who allowed so many to die and get hurt.

Like most I believe that a man should never punch/hit a woman but when she throws a sucker punch at a guy, she's pushing the boundary of that rule. You definitely can't throw the first punch and get upset if one is returned.

Eh.
Total Defense -- UGA #14, A&M #47
Total Offense -- UGA #48, A&M #49

Y'all are overestimating how good this team is.

I get it. I said IF they are successful at the UGA plan. Maybe they won’t be.

But 100% chance they will basically try to do what I used to do in Madden back in the day - just run punt block every play on defense.

Pretty viable way. Put offense can’t move the ball, Quinn throws interceptions and a RB fumbles, giving short fields. Meanwhile the D is on the field because we can’t get more than 1 or 2 first downs through the first two quarters so the D is beyond gassed.

AKA the Georgia game but on the road in the most hostile environment Texas has ever played in - at night.

Sure, anything can happen, especially at night on the road against a team whose fans hate us more than they love themselves.  (And lord do they love themselves.)

Just a little more color:

Total Defense -- UT #1, A&M #47
Total Offense -- UT #18, A&M #49

Doesn't look great for our friends on the Brazos.

I will say after looking back on the Georgia game, if you break it down by series by series, Georgia had one quarter where they dominated us, otherwise it was even or we outplayed them.  If seemed worse at the time, but in hindsight it may not be as bad as remembered. And definitely worth noting that adjustments were made at halftime that worked to overcome what Georgia was doing.

Please list all the long drives opponents have managed against us this year.  Especially opponents with middling to worse offenses.  Their punter better be eating his Wheaties.

100% agree.

There were still times, after adjustments, that Quinn/Oline/whoever just couldn’t deal with the pressure. And your point above is why it was especially frustrating imo.

And still, the big majority of the time, the better team wins.  It's the OU series that is riddled with upsets.

Last 12 games vs ou = 4 upsets

Last 12 games vs aggy = 3 upsets

Those O stats are skewed by all the wiggerman snaps. He's usually fumbling, throwing INTs or getting sacked. He ain't starting against us.

That feels cherry-picked.

It's the same  numbers if you go back 15 games. I got tired of counting. The point is there are plenty of upsets in both series.

If you've got a site that lists all upsets in a specific series, link it.

I didn’t say they’d give up long drives - but with short field after short field FGs can easily become TDs in time.

Their punter would have to be in a wheelchair to be worse than ours.

Yup. They either stay there or in Bastrop at the Lost Pines Hyatt

How is the Bastrop Lost Pines any better than staying in Austin?  They save a grand total of like 15 miles to Kyle Field.

Well, we've had 1 turnover in the last 9 quarters, so I'm not too worried.

Michigan, 4th quarter, less than 5 minutes left, 78 yards, TD.
UTSA, 2nd quarter, 75 yards, TD

MSU, 4th quarter, 75 yards, TD

UGA, 3rd quarter, 89 yards, TD

Vanderbilt, 4th quarter, 75 yards, TD

Florida, 4th quarter, 67 yards, TD

Arkansas, 3rd quarter, 75 yards, TD

So, seven in ten games. Five in six SEC games.

Is that good?

Advantage Horns…since we adjusted at the half…..the only thing aggy and everyone else remembers is that first half…

Less than one per game?  Yeah, that's good . . . for us.  It is very hard to mount a sustained drive against our defense.  Absent turnovers, scoring is rare.

Idk anything about theirs, but I sure am nervous about ours.

Their punter and kicker are both better than ours.

I count four of those drives as coming against our starters

Stats don't win games.  Players do.  This is what makes CFB so much better than pro.  Kyle will be fucking electric.  Take the crowd out early.  Get out in front.  That's how you win this game.  They're not even remotely a come from behind offensive team.

Until then, KY will be a good test as well.  Stout defense on that squad.

I'm not suiting up, and the team isn't listening to me, so I'll say it out loud:  OU has a better defense.  Will we score 34 points or more?  Not sure.  Will UK?  No way.

otherwise this makes no sense

for aggy, I expect they’ll stay in Montgomery like they did ever year after hullabaloo Dinesh Dinesh

Every major program has the team stay in a hotel the night before home games. Coaches want to be able control the environment from team meetings to nutrition to knowing all the players are accounted for.
