In for aggy troll Graham's SEC power rankings after this chef's kiss of a Saturday. How's the bespectacled incel gonna rank Texas behind aggy, 'bama, ole miss, tenn, etc. this week? What phony metric is he going to create attempting to prove that Texas is unable to run the ball against an SEC d-line?

Watching the game and they played well at times and had a good comeback, but before this play I just had one calm and confident thought….”They are going to aggy this up.”

Quinn was limping. He also didn’t throw it like the last 95 plays.

It will probably go something like:

#8 Texas
While being ranked #3 in the country, Texas struggled mightily against one of the SEC's worst teams in the second half, matching Kentucky 7-7 in the third and fourth quarters. Outside of the rush game, they showed no ability to move the ball and continue to benefit from the SEC's easiest schedule.

#7 Texas A&M
Despite finding themselves in a 3 touchdown hole against an Auburn team that's much better than their record suggests, the Aggies fought back with tremendous resiliency, erasing the deficit and battling to the end in a hostile road environment.

"The ags ran out of time on a controversial play when the receiver dropped a ball that had obviously been tampered with. Did undercover Auburn officials spray grease on the ball prior to the play? Ag lawyers are submitting FOI demand papers as we speak."

Something something, made-up-“efficiency” stats, something, bottom of the conference ranking

Yeah, it would be real easy to sneak Mo Bamba on the sideline. Nobody would ever spot a 7 footer.

It wouldn't be his height that gave him away in that stadium.

Aggies can’t complain about officiating. Those refs tried to hand them the game multiple times but they still choked it

Oh, they can and they are. They shouldn’t be allowed to, but here we are.

Having us knock them out of their best shot ever at an SEC championship game berth followed immediately by getting their asses kicked by a Big 12 team might just bring more joy than I can take.

Best outcome of the season regarding aggy is Elko has shown to be the same asshole persona that Jimbo was. We've seen it grow each week. I can't see players or coaches wanting to be around him err in his orbit.

The gravity well generated by the mass of his body will make it difficult to escape his orbit...

In a game that many Texas A&M football fans are watching with interest due to the playoff implications, Indiana is currently losing big to Ohio State. This is a matchup of two teams at the top of the Big 10 record-wise, but two teams who have pretty opposite strengths of schedule thus far.

This is the first tough team that Indiana has faced, while Ohio State is significantly more battle-tested at this point. In fact, as Indiana has ascended to 10-0, this is the third game against a top-5 opponent that Ohio State has played yet this season.

To highlight that fact, the broadcast went to a timely trivia question, as is a staple on college football broadcasts. It went like this: what was the last team to face three top-5 AP opponents in a single season?

Joel Klatt, infamous among Aggie fans for his constant ribbing of the Maroon and White, opined at first that it must be a SEC West or Big 10 East team, given the difficulty of those divisions. He finally settled on LSU—which the answer indeed was, pointing to their 2011 season.

Here's the problem: that's an incorrect answer.

Texas A&M football in 2019 had one of the most difficult schedules I've ever seen a college football team take on. The Aggies played three different teams ranked no. 1 in the AP Poll: Clemson early on, Alabama in the middle of the year, and LSU in the final game of the year.

That's not to mention that they played on the road at no. 4 Georgia and hosted a top-10 Auburn team. Unsurprisingly, they lost all five of those games, and won every single other one.

So it wasn't just three AP top-5 teams; it was four. And yet the Aggies were overlooked.

The only way I can make sense of this is that the question must have meant exactly three AP top-5 teams, which was not explicitly stated, or that it meant both teams must be top-5. Again, that was not explicitly outlined in the question.

This is more than likely a harmless oversight on the part of the stats department, but it remains a fact that not enough is made of that difficult 2019 schedule for A&M.

Even with gut-punch loss to Auburn, Texas A&M football can still make the SEC Championship
Texas A&M football is coming off of an aggravating overtime loss to the Auburn Tigers, the Aggies' first OT loss in their time in the SEC. The Aggies have dropped to 8-3 as a result, and 6-2 in conference.

ADVERTISING

The Ags are now 1-2 in the month of November, with road night games accounting for both of those losses. Their lone win was over New Mexico State.

Even so, the Aggies are still in contention for a SEC championship—and therefore, a playoff spot.

This is no wishy-washy "well, they haven't yet been mathematically eliminated," either. The Aggies, as crazy as it might seem, still control their destiny to get to Atlanta.

This is thanks to Ole Miss and Alabama both going down to unranked teams this weekend. The Rebels and Tide pick up a third conference loss each, meaning that the Aggies—who only have two—are tied with Georgia for second place in the SEC.

Texas, with one conference loss to the one good team they've played, sits in first, staring down the barrel of a trip to Kyle Field. If the Aggies vanquish their rival next week, they enter a three-way tie—since Texas's schedule is obviously the weakest, they get left out of Atlanta.

It's all still on the line next week. The Aggies got enough help this week to set up the matchup we've been dreaming of, even if A&M is coming into this one a little bit wobbly.

The Ags probably need to get a win in the conference championship to make it into the playoff at this point, but the path is still there. A&M is still alive in their quest for the 12-team field, a 10-win season—everything. The goals are all still on the table.

But they have to reach out and take them. And that's something they haven't exactly been doing a great job of.

Amari Daniels is not to blame for Texas A&M football's loss to Auburn
Texas A&M football is coming off of their first-ever overtime loss as an SEC member, and it literally came down to a couple of inches on either side.

With the new overtime format, the Aggies and Tigers went to the football equivalent of penalty kicks, trading two-point plays after the second overtime. In the deciding period, Auburn's Keandre Lambert-Smith made a big time contested catch in traffic, but the Aggies' well-called play resulted in a wide open drop.

The man who dropped the ball was running back Amari Daniels. That much is true. But he's not why the Aggies lost the game.

No, not by a long shot. Daniels, as a matter of fact, had stepped up in a major way after the Aggies lost Le'Veon Moss at the beginning of the month and was performing the duties of a lead back quite well.

His physical style was wearing down the Tigers all game, which led to his bruising touchdown run to put the Aggies up three near the end of the game.

That really should have been the deciding score, all things considered. But the defense, which plagued the Aggies all game, failed to get the stop they needed, and the Tigers were able to send things to overtime.

There are so many pivotal points we could mark down as "what-ifs." Amari's drop at the end of the game was simply the one closest to the time that the game ended. But if the Ags had gotten points off of the Oscar Chapman shanked punt, or punched the ball in after a Payton Thorne interception, or simply gotten one more stop, this wouldn't be a conversation.

Yet, some are coming after Daniels, completely needlessly. The Aggie players themselves made it clear that such a tactic is a no-go.

Daniels was a bright spot for the Aggies tonight. Though a catch would have kept the game going, it was by no means the most egregious or costly thing we saw out of the Aggies on the Plains.

🤣 right, it's our easy schedule that will keep us out of the CCG, not the fact that we would have lost to aggy and Georgia.

Auburn's defense looked absolutely pathetic. They were running around with no clue about where to go. Not sure how they rank or are graded but it'd be interesting to see. Also their defense seemed to stop getting penetration at-will in the 2nd half. No stats, just an observation so not sure if true. I wonder what changed.

They looked gassed so I assume that their depth is shitty.  Aggy definitely played cleaner after going down three scores, and agree that 2nd half (especially the 4th q) Auburn was completely lost. Numerous blown coverages on 3rd and long. Was pissing me off, but the game ended the way it was supposed to I suppose 😊

These are a lot of fancy words for "we played on the road".  And what kind of point is "being each team's best win"?  He's desperately trying to prove that Auburn/SC wanted so badly to beat aggy to make a statement, when they could have made a statement against any other ranked teams...but lost because they suck.  Auburn has wins against Alabama A&M, New Mexico, Kentucky and LA-Monroe...how do we spin the win against us as a positive?  Meanwhile, Texas has been Top 5 for most of the season...but other teams didn't try to make a statement against us?

If there is a 4 way tie at 6-2 it does come down to that which is why Texas and Tennessee will be left out.
